  • Growing up with a famous last name such as Alkaff, content creator Hannah Alkaff is well-acquainted with stories from that branch of her family tree. But she is starting to find out that her late paternal grandmother might be related to royalty. It was at her cousin’s recent wedding in KL that her grandmother’s royal roots were highlighted. Her cousin’s wedding kebaya consisted of a piece that belonged to their late grandmother, and Hannah was told that such fabric was used by royalty from Pontianak in West Kalimantan, a province in Indonesia.
That was when she realized that she had never asked how exactly her grandmother was related to the Pontianak Sultanate. Hannah's list of questions grew with her curiosity, and what she discovers will open her up to a whole other branch of her family tree that was rooted in royalty, and completely foreign to her. Her search for more answers takes her to the coastal city of Pontianak in West Kalimantan, her grandmother’s homeland. What will Hannah discover there?

On the dawn of Friday, 3 July 1964, a troop of Brawijaya 517 soldiers led by Lieutenant B Simatupang under the orders of Brigadier General Suharjo quickly swooped in the Bulungan Palace, kidnapping its aristocrat inhabitants while burning the rest of the palace grounds which lasted for 2 days and nights on Friday 24 July 1964.
The kidnapees were later murdered, one Raja Muda Datu Mukemat in particular was reported to have been brought to sea between the islands of Tarakan and Bunyu, where he was shackled with stones as weight, shot dead and cast out into the sea.
For the record: Lieutenant B Simatupang is today a NATIONAL HERO in Indonesia.

At Japanese era, Java and Sumatera (Andalas) are ruled by Rikugun (Imperial Japanese Army). But Kalimantan (Borneo), Sulawesi (Celebes) and East Indonesia are ruled by Kaigun (Imperial Japanese Navy). And you know Rikugun and Kaigun are not friendly team mate during WW II. So this was Sultan Hamid saved from Mandor Affair. It was a paradox that Kaigun is crueled about Mandor Massacre. Because Kaigun is actuallly softer than Rikugun. In fact, the PKI within the ABRI, under the orders of Brigadier General Suhario (Commander IX Mulawarman), carried out massacres and looting by burning the palace of the Raja Muda, plundering the royal heirlooms, and killing the heirs of the last Sultan of Bulungan (1958) from July 3-14, 1964.
This plan was executed swiftly by Lieutenant T. B Simatupang and Captain Buntaran. Among the ABRI troops involved were those from Brawijaya 517.

Perlis cannot used sultan titles it was Kedah territory divide from Kedah, same with Negeri Sembilan(nine district) it ws jOHOR distict territory but given to Minangkabau allies from Pagaruyung west sumatra to figth bugis, cannot used sultan titles, Kedah, Johor, Brunei all these big malay state later become small or divide Johor divide into Pahang and Riau-Lingga, only pulau tioman not become riau-lingga sultanate terriitory only Natuna and Anambas given to riau-lingga. pulau tioman was part of johor just like singapore but later become Pahang territory Johor forever called land sultanate, riau was archipelago sultanate or archipelago johor.

Oh keturunan keluarga alqadrie?
    Sekarang sultannya mendukung habib rizki

Sultan Hamid II was more than just the designer of the national emblem. During the Indonesian war of independence, he was the leader of the federalist faction of the movement that sought to establish a federal republic in Indonesia. He was present and signed with Hatta during the Round Table Conference in The Hague that transferred sovereignty over Indonesia from the Dutch. Unfortunately, the federalists led to many rebellions and strife that were all put down by TNI thus strengthening the united republican model until today.

Yeah his involvement with Westerling really sullied his name and legacy. Even if he had many contributions toward Indonesia independence, it was tarnished when he rebelled. Especially this is the infamous Westerling, as if that is not bad enough, APRA collaborated with Darul Islam.
