  • D40 race on 19th Sept - first DMAX race in almost exactly a year! Lap times are from GPS, though unfortunately it went haywire part way through so a couple of laps are way off accuracy.
    Skidded into a crash on lap 9 (expected the spinning kart to spin on the inside and I would go round the long way following the kart in front of me, but I locked up and couldn't turn in quickly enough).
    Another spin lap 16, trying to dive down the inside like on a previous lap but left it too late to brake.

      Thanks, there’s room for improvement :-) Maybe I’ll see you there one day.

      Hey Craig - thanks for these! Many apologies for skidding into you - by the time I’d realised we weren’t both going around the back of the spinner in front I tried to lose speed and just locked up the rear - school boy error and should have trail braked to the apex. Hope your neck was ok.

    Oh, cool. That's me starting the race in 2nd.

      Ah, I remember this. My neck hurt quite a lot after that. I lost 30s on that lap and wound up 6th, 23 seconds off the leader.

    Awesome. How you get the stats display?

    • @adrianrb1
      @adrianrb1  Před 3 lety +1

      Used a GoPro with GPS and accelerometers, then import the video and data into RaceRender (Mac/PC application) which allows you to create dials on the screen for position, speed, lap times (measured by GPS and specifying the start line), best lap delta etc.

    What overlay are you using?

    • @adrianrb1
      @adrianrb1  Před 3 lety

      It’s generated in Race Render from the GoPro GPS and accelerometer data.

    Hi. How do you add the Delta to best field?

    • @adrianrb1
      @adrianrb1  Před 2 lety +1

      Under Display Objects (on the right hand side), click Add, and select 'Timer', then 'Timer - Seconds'. In the Display Object Properties, select the 'Field' dropdown, and select (This Lap vs Cur Best Lap) which I used, or (This Lap vs Best Lap). I set 'Decimals' to 2, the 'Mode' to 'Text & Number', and typed 'Delta: ' into the text box below. Hope that helps.

      @UCCRitKN4iMnBgdl1-nDTHDQ Don’t think I’ve needed to do that. Have you tried removing them on your camera edit screen before downloading as that should delete the GPS for those laps as well as the video - not sure how race render would cope in this scenario though? In theory there should be a way to do this in race render too though, but I haven’t tried.

      I got a 68.1 on my first time using a high-performance rental kart. Quite a way off from you though :)
