I am glad that someone of her position is sending out such a positive message.
She is a perfect speaker, not one error, positive professional and inspiring!
This is one of the most incredible videos I've ever seen in my whole life. Hillary, thank you so much for your support. This kind of message is very important to those who are suffering because of hard-hearted people. Bruno, from Brazil.
Did she just say "HANG in there"?!
i think hilary is one of the most important power players in the game of politics and should get more of respect for the things she has done for america, i also believe she has put aside her pride and is working with obama for the better of our country and i believe she is such an amazing person she will not run for presidentcy in 2012 for the fact she believes obama is what is the most important for our country right now and she will one day be our president that i promise you and i cant wait
i'm not even american or live in america and i find this touching , finaly a massive breathrew is being made for the LGBT cause , hopefully one day all people can live together in one loving world and "it gets better" will help others who feel like they have nothings to live for see the true beauty of life of what it can bring , happyness , warmth, kindness and most of all love.
I was bullied and survived!!
It will get better every where not just in USA.
I can witness on how the world has changed for better during my short life
i am english and have always lived in the UK and have many USA friends,
i have one friend who is a transgender and she is close to death (she feels dead inside due to all the problems) she was sacked becasue sshe was transitioning and is now so sad every day i cry for her because i wonder if i will speak to her tomorrow or will she of finally took her life, im crying now writing this as the last words she said to me was "ill see you when you die" this needs to change and fast
So many are (rightfully so) making videos like this right now, but it's important to hear this message from someone so distinguished, who has some power in this country. Our government must work with us for any real change to happen, so this gives me hope. Thank you.
GLBT people are facing so much bigotry in schools, in jobs, in the military, in churches, in the legal system, even in their own homes. I am the mother of a gay son who has always known he is amazing, so it makes me sad to think of all the kids who don't know that and all the people who can't see past their own prejudices. Thank you for expressing your support for the GLBT community.
Thank you for your encouraging words, Secretary Clinton. I wish I had heard a similar message when I was a bullied, lonely child. I'm confident that many of our LGBT youth will look back in adulthood and recall your words as the encouragement--the catalyst--to forge ahead and become remarkable American citizens. Your support of their potential is truly monumental...again, thank you.
History will look back at this woman with tremendous admiration.
My son is a victim of bullying. Thank you Mrs Clinton, you are awesome!
Mrs. Clinton, thank you so much for speaking up! I am honored.

I've noticed you're not posting the comments that ask for Hillary to run in 2012. Please inform her that there is no way I'll vote for Obama again. If the Dems want to keep the WH in 2012, I suggest they run Hillary.
Ms Clinton, thank you so much for this great video. Thanks to for backing up your words with policy changes in the state dept that give gay people as many benefits as is legally possible.
I regret not having voted for you in 2008.
It's about time someone in government spoke up about this.
The next president of the United States of America.
I am curious to find out what blog system you happen to be using? I'm experiencing some minor security issues with my latest website and I would like to find something more safe. Do you have any suggestions?
Thanks Hillary.. It is really nice to have a person such as you speaking out for the youth of our country. I have live through it and yes... it does get better!
This may be the least politically charged thing any politician has ever uttered. Thank you for putting out there such a civil, honest, and thoughtful message Mrs. Clinton. I hope many people do heed your wisdom.
So one person... didn't like this message?
Thank you, Ms Clinton, it helps to hear from somebody as influential as you.
Thank you for encouraging people to be what they are and also to work hard to reach their dreams... That's what I also believe: If you are a respected citizen, you have the duty to work hard for your country too...
Hear Hear - I am Canadian, not American - but you, Mrs. Clinton, are a true class act, and this video is admirable on so many levels. All politicians should be so forthright, honest and compassionate to others.
" Could not be more true ... You will so see. Do not let anybody tell you any different. The people that don't like you, does not matter nor do you need them. Live your life as you see fit !!! Validate yourself ... Define yourself ... Be Happy ...
Thank you so much Hillary. God bless you for taking the time to ceate this video. As a Gay man who has walked the path of lonliness, desperation, depression, and despair - I know that it does, in fact, get better. I have lived it. But so many cannot see the light at the end of the tunnel. Especially when they see characters from the religious and political communities making hideous and hateful comments, which translate, for them, into a terrible self loathing. It does get better.
Secretary Clinton has always been a model of class and intelligence while being able to reach out and relate to all people. This is another wonderful example of that.
Thank you.
It's refreshing to hear someone strong in this admin speak up on this issue.. its about time. Thank you Hillary
Thank you Mrs. Clinton. You are the best of the best of what this country stands for. Thank you also for letting the young people know that IT GETS BETTER!!! 25 years ago i didnt have anyone that I could look up to when i was finding myself. You are a very positive role model for what and how people of this day and time should present themselves. You are Awesome!! i know you may never see this but i had to say again.. THANK YOU! Tazewell, TN...
Thank you Secretary Clinton, you're message is spot-on...everyone is important!
But not in the military.
Don't ask. Don't tell.
The battle rages on.
Perhaps the one single politician I've seen saying something truthful, from the heart, in the past ... I don't even remember.. Thank u Mrs. Clinton, and we appreciate u also.
Well said Mme. Secretary and thank you for taking trime away from your very hectic duties abroad to look over your shoulder to your country and its youths. You can see that your job is taking its toll on you so making the time to do this PSA is even more appreciated. Thank you!!
Hillary 2016
25 people have no souls.
Thank you ma'am.
A BIG THANK YOU TO SECRETARY CLINTON FOR ONCE AGAIN COMING THROUGH AND BEING THE VOICE FOR SO MANY WHO HAVEN'T YET FOUND THEIR VOICES !
ONWARD AND UPWARD MADAME SECRETARY !
RISE HILLARY RISE !
J.C.
Thank you for speaking out on this crucial issue, Secretary Clinton. To have this message delivered by such a respected and esteemed individual will truly mean so much to those struggling with discrimination and bullying in America and around the world. Another reason why you're my hero!
I give her props for speaking out. Good for you Hillary. This is a serious issue especially for teens who feel all alone. Of course they are not all alone and the more support shown by important figures like Hillary Clinton, the better.
i know right? it brings a whole new meaning to the separation of church and state.
Beautiful Message. This is what America needs, people willing to live among each other regardless of their differences. Respect and Equal Rights for All, putting an end to bigotry and ill ignorance
Why hasn't the President taken two minutes out of his busy schedule to make a similar video?
Hillary Clinton's video about it will get better is so compelling. She talks about the State Dept and LGBT. I would think she's the first to publicly do that. It's very compelling. Thank you, Sec'y Clinton.
Thank you, Hillary! Love to you!
I appreciate it Secretary Clinton, believe me, I do.. but this is not enough. Don't tell us that you're with us... you're not my mother you're my Secretary of State. Tomorrow will always be better, that's what Americans believe. Secretary Clinton, you make today, so you can make today better.
Dang, I was hoping to hear a story about Mrs. Clinton's difficulties with bullying when she was in school...still, it's nice that she's joining the chorus.
Thank you Mrs. Clinton. As a young gay woman, I can't tell you how much this means to me.
I think what's missing here is some kind of a hot line or a website that any teenager can call/contact and get help. Saying "your country needs you" is missing the point. A teenager who takes his own life, doesn't really think of anyone, certainly not his country.
But in general, it's a good initiative. If it will make one teenager think before making a foolish act, it's been worth it.
This made me cry. Such a beautiful, honest, heartfelt sentiment-- no political rhetoric or avoiding the issue. Maybe Hillary can be the "fierce advocate" that President Obama promised to be?
You may not like Her politics, but she is one concise lady! you can't argue with this message!
"As for My people, children are their oppressors, And women rule over them. O My people! Those who lead you cause you to err, And destroy the way of your paths.”" (Isaiah 3:12)
I love you Hillary... you really should have been president. It means a lot to see this kind of message from someone like yourself. Thank you!
May I add, the reason LGBT employees can serve openly in the State Department (with partner benefits too) is because that is one of the first changes Clinton made when she became Secretary of State.
Thank you Secretary Clinton
Hillary Clinton...I'm glad you've said and allowed this to be posted. regardless of whether you were true in what you've said or not, I really appreciate this video.
Wow, how extraordinary that a government employee like Hillary bring her voice to the campaign. And whatever happens before just this soo well written speech make it up.
Thank you Hillary!!! We need more people like yourself in U.S. Government! Thanks for your support :D
Nice to see she put a message out there as well
Dear Hillery
Thank you so very much for putting this message out on cyberspace . Yes I to have fallen a victim, do to harsh bullying .people can brake your spirit and sabotage your future. . God Bless you and may your message reach world wide.
I really appreciate and love you Mrs. Hillary Clinton, for your attention on this matter. This sharing is classic, and tenderly done. U are a wonderful woman and I admire you as a person. I loved how you stood beside your husband, former President William Clinton, when the nation became more interested in a personal mistake rather than things that pertained to his job position. I have the greatest respect for your strong sense of character. YOU make a difference in our great nation. Thank U.
It felt stiff and prompted but the mere fact that she took the time to do it and didn't flinch when she said "Count me among them." was much appreciated. Thanks, Hil.
Thank you, Secretary Clinton. This means a lot to us. We appreciate your leadership and taking a stand on our behalf. Personally, it feels very good to be acknowledged with warmth, appreciation, understanding and respect by one of our nation's most powerful figures.
Finally, an American politician who speaks up... Thanks Mrs Clinton!!!
The 16 people who thumbed this down certainly are not good human beings
Wow! Thank you Secretary Clinton for getting Involved.
♥♥♥♥♥ Thanks, Sec. Clinton - one of the few politicians who has walked the walk and gone beyond election year lip service to take some actual ACTION.
Thank you Mrs. Should Be President!! Wide mind, wise words, open heart. Yay you!
"Tomorrow Will Be Better" - the new James Bond title.
Wonderful. Every gay man and woman who felt alone when they were a teenager looks back and thinks how small their world was. Hang in there. It will get better. The world is a much bigger place. It won't take too long to realise that & enjoy life again.
Thank You Hillary for this video and for serving our country! We need more politicians like you in Washington!
xxxooo Wade Lee
p.s. it gets better
why would some 4 people put thumb down to this, I don't get it. What did she say wrong?
This is why I wrote her in on my ballot in 2008
Wow. Just when I think I can't possibly admire HRC any more, she goes and does something like this. Sec. Clinton, you ROCK! You just made it a little bit better for some gay kid out there.
im black and a women!!! so i was TORN in my decision!!!! lol it would have been real cool if she was the first women president!!! THAS PURE INSPIRATION TO LADYS NOT ONLY IN AMERICA BUT AMONG THE WORLD.
Thank you U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton! You are a shining example of what it takes to make change. It might be slow going, yet change is inevitable. Thank you for supporting it.
Thank you Hillary Clinton. Your words are very important to not only the youth of this country, but those who survived the bullying but still cry at night. I know I voted for the right group of people to run this country. My friend Ms. LaReina wants me to tell you that she thinks you're a classy lady, just like she is, and that you stand up to men even better than she does! So keep on keeping on. And thank you for your words. It HAS gotten better.
Freedom Trucker

Thank you for your support...it is appreciated more than you can know. Thank you thank you thank you!
Spoken like a TRUE leader! We love you Hillary!
Mrs. Hillary Clinton great character and I admire them in some situations but need to collect sufficient evidence in its mission as foreign minister....Thanks
I wonder how somebody like you can sleep during the night, how you can look at your kids and talk about love, future and justice...
She has always stood for gay rights. She is not jumping on the bandwagon. So I applaud her for this message.
THOSE 18 PEOPLE CAN GO TO REHAB.
Thanks Hillary, you had always been an inspiring person to me. You are honest with what you do and this video meant so much for me. You truly represent what U.S. suppose to believe in, Equality, justice, and liberty. Even with such busy schedule and have to deal with foreign nations, you still take time to care about the internal affair. I love you! You are a strong person with a big heart!
This is why I voted for her! Such class and intelligence.
Things will not be right Hill until you come clean. you have come to the place where you are, for such a time as this, God bless.
I'm glad to see public figures taking a step forward.
dont believ, shes controled by the banks. ron paul 2012. amerca please, take this last chance, for the sake of the world.
Ron Paul 2012
The only problem is that tomorrow never comes.
great message but i find it soo distracting that she's not looking into the camera...
Governments around the world need more people like Hillary
Well said Hillary.
Good job.
A+S
xx
We need more leaders like you
One more reason why she is one of the best women leaders in the world today....
What I like best about this particular message is how Hillary uses the "it gets better" message to equate the fight for gay rights to historical fights for equality. It will not only get better in the personal lives for LGBT individuals, but as a society we will look back on this and see how archaic these discriminatory laws actually are.
Thank you, Secretary Clinton, for your effort in spreading words of hope, love, and encouragement to our youth. Thank you so very much.
Thank you Hillary Rodham Clinton, you are a great American woman. And you are so right, the world is getting better. It will take time and effort, but it will get better, for everyone. We must continue fighting for everyone's rights and freedom.
thank you, secretary. it would have been more touching if you looked at the camera, but it was a great message. thanks.
Thank you, Secretary Clinton. Your voice here means a great deal.
wishes this video came out when I was still being bullied in high school
Thank you Hillary for your message. Very well said.
I hope that in my lifetime the US will not only have a woman president, but also an openly gay president. One day it will happen...
