Gotta say I really like how the parry works in this game. The kind of parrythat instantly guard breaks just feels way to strong in my opinion. + I really like the mechanic of destroying the enemy's weapon with enough parrys
This shit was stellar. A loveletter to the Soulsborne games, with so many QoL additions. I can't wait. Btw, you can actually get the shock-rod thing from a chest down in the streets. Edit: also weight doesn't effect dodge. It says that movement speed and stamina recovery are impacted by weight. Movement speed probably effects dodge tho.
The sound effects are fantastic! The art assets and art direction are on par with a From Soft game as well. I just have to play it myself to see if the gameplay also holds up, but this looks incredible
This demo honestly surprised me. The sea of soulsborne titles that are of questionable quality, with rare exceptions. This one right here is quite special it seems. The lore is interesting, combat was tight, dodge is a little wonky, but minus that, this one may be the new souls to get its hooks in the fandom. It sure has for me.
From what I've seen this game looks great, haven't played the demo yet but I will. So excited for this game man love the world and theme it's going for.
@@tnzwelk Oh man that's a bummer. I was actually hoping to replay it quite a bit and try out different weapons and play styles. It's such a good demo. I am really looking forward to the full game.
Start with Path of the Sweeper (heavy) or Path of the Cricket (balanced) if you want to to do big damage with the shock mace. It scales best off Motivity (strength) and Advance ("special" - throwables, status effect, etc.) You'll have to dump some points into Advance no matter what you choose, but I really enjoyed that thing's fable art once I was doing decent damage with it. By the way, the main fable art is a powerup to the electric damage on the weapon, not a parry. But the special fable art is a leaping heavy strike which is just badass. Qualifications: I put 8 hours into this demo trying every weapon and scouring every corner of the map for some reason. It's just too damn fun. 😂
As someone who loves Bloodborne, but not much of a fan of the Souls/Elden Ring Series. I'm been pretty excited for Lies Of P sense it feels like it captured the vibes that made me love Bloodborne so much and after playing the Demo I am happy to say that the game captures the vibe that I haven't felt sense the original Bloodborne.
That final boss is a pain I still can't get by it 💔 but otherwise its a great demo I'm definitely buying it when it comes out in September. So that's three new soul's like games coming out later this year Lies of P, Lords of the Fallen remake, and Remant 2 good time to be a souls fan I guess.
Try perfect gaurding it's attacks, also it has a weakness, the electric ball on its butt if you hit it it'll explode dealing damage and stunning it for a small time.
Just focus on parrying it’s delayed right slash dodge back it’s frenzy into the spinning arm slam the parry time is a little tricky so just learn that second phase every arm slam sends a lighting strike move to the left it’s final red slam just move to the left or right and charge a heavy jumping slam creates a delayed shockwave just move back it’s blanka ball when it screeches it creates and shock wave around it then lightning strikes dodge it and the strikes will almost never hit you so you can wait on it
yes it is! I love the Pinocchio retelling they're going for and I absolutely love how they've done it, it feels so unique, original and charming! Legit a world I'd love to explore

@@Avyrr i think its a stun lock mechanic coz i got it too with fighting certain enemies, like they can parry aswell. Bug or not, I genuinely didnt mind it. Adds more challenge to a fight
What i hate about this game is dodging is tied to your FPS, meaning if you're playing at high frame rate, dodging is less reliable. I've tried capping this game at 30 fps and dodging was good. Then i uncapped it and my frames went up to 144 frames and dodging was such a miserable experience. Blocking is the only way to go and Vitality is so damn strong. I hope they fix the dodge system in the retail version.
I completely forgot this game existed. It clearly has so much Bloodborne DNA and I’m loving it. This one is definitely a day one for me. I’ll take ANYTHING to fill the gaping hole BB left in my heart 😔
I played a bit of this game. Overall, I enjoyed it, but it was rough around the edges. I think it has a lot of potential if they can work through the clunky parts.
This game feels so much better than a lot of other soulslikes so far, and has some pretty cool mechanics. Im so stoked for the full game, on top of AC6. Gonna be a good two months
I’m shamelessly gonna pre ordered this. I know it’s not Bloodborne but the vibe/ aesthetic is so damn good and it’s got that going for it plus an intriguing new take on Pinocchio? I’m down for it.
The games pretty good. I thought there was dodge delay, but that was just because the dodge comes out after you let go of the button not when you press it because its the same button you run with, like Bloodborne. losing health when you guard is a bit annoying since more often than not you can't get all your health back from attacking, but the game is meant to be hard so I can understand.
@danielantony1882 You can spec into making dodge better. There is a base dodge for a reason. This is still a dodging game as much as any other souls game is a parry game even though you roll more than you'd parry typically.
As someone who never played Sekiro, this plays like Sekiro and with it's emphasis on parrying. It's more forgiving since it has it's own version of the rally mechanic with Guard Regain. Even if you fail a perfect guard, just attack the enemy to regain any lost health. There's no downside to guarding.
Honestly don’t listen to chat next time. I played this entire demo just dodging and never guarding (like bloodborne) and I had a super fun time. It never felt unfair, like I could dodge every move theoretically. Not saying parrying isn’t good but dodging only is definitely an option.
@@Z3R0NU11 move on.. Says the dude who replied in the first place and didn’t add anything interesting just wanted to be rude for no reason? Now who’s brain dead lmao
Dodge does have I frames btw, don’t know if you learn that later in the vod from where I’m at rn, chat is bs’ing you, it’s just a lot different timing than fromsoft dodges, but they are correct if you’re perfect blocking it’s better
Isn't Lies of P supposed to be some dark version of Pinocchio? Pinocchio's a novel by Carlo Collodi, an italian writer. Why's lots of people talking about France? Am I missing something?
I always knew Charlie was an estoc kinda guy. Decent weapon, but swords are for adepts really your lay man is better with a club, or spear. Duelists use swords, fighters use anything else (including swords).
I hope the devs empahsize the importance of Deflecting in the full release. Game plays very much like Sekiro despite the aesthetic beingBloodborne-inspired
I really enjoyed this demo though I had the strangest problem with it: no matter what, the demo would crash after 10 minutes. I did everything I could think of but, without fail, the demo crashes 10 minutes after the moment it boots. I have never seen a problem like this in a game/ demo and no one else to seems to be experiencing it so I guess I am just tragically unlucky because I really did enjoy the demo in those 10 minute increments
Dodge is not bad, it's just that it has few i-frames. Well, I'm a MonHun addict, so i-framing things with terrible i-frames are easy for me, can't say for anyone else.
It is in MH you dodge goes somewhere, but in here the s are terrible plus the dodge distance is very small the enemies hit in an arc which covers an area bigger than the dodge distance sometimes reaching even behind them, so unless you're perfectly iframing it or dodging multiple times away from the attack you will get hit, I guess they want you to upgrade it since there is an upgrade after you kill the final boss, but imo a dodge should just work since it's a core mechanic. This reminds me of DS2 adaptability stat that you basically needed to level to get more s which was something everyone hated in ds2.
@@alenezi989a3odge is meant to be situational. There’s barely any I frames or distance, it’s a repositioning tool for big slow attacks, and thrusting attacks. The game obviously wants you to deflect. And there’s nothing hinting towards the fact that the upgrades give more s like ds2.
@bigsmall2842 the problem is the game never explained it, in Sekiro you are told and go through a tutorial to teach you that you need to deflect and dodging has no s. They never explain this in this game they just tell you that you can dodge or guard. The upgrade doesn't give more s but atleast it allows you to dodge away from the attacks so that it helps in avoiding damaging instead of the terrible sidestep you originally get. They need to explain this clearly in the full game because alot of people are complaining about the dodge if not fixed or explained it will hurt the game reception.
I had my doubts at first. I love Bloodborne and having a game that's obviously based on it made me raise my eyebrows and after playing the demo, I'm confident to say that I am excited for this.

@Seng2 ya it only makes sense it would.

Bro the weapon combos are sick and in depth
The sound effects are fantastic! The art assets and art direction are on par with a From Soft game as well. I just have to play it myself to see if the gameplay also holds up, but this looks incredible
This demo honestly surprised me. The sea of soulsborne titles that are of questionable quality, with rare exceptions. This one right here is quite special it seems. The lore is interesting, combat was tight, dodge is a little wonky, but minus that, this one may be the new souls to get its hooks in the fandom. It sure has for me.
Pinocchio vs Cthulhu, now that is a premise that will grab anyone’s attention
From what I've seen this game looks great, haven't played the demo yet but I will. So excited for this game man love the world and theme it's going for.
ok
Careful! The demo is only available for a limited time. I think it's 9 more days?
@@tnzwelkdang really? Glad i started it bc it seems like a long demo lol
sAME! THE WORLD AND STYLE FEELS SO COOL, so charming and refreshing and interesting!
@@tnzwelk Oh man that's a bummer. I was actually hoping to replay it quite a bit and try out different weapons and play styles. It's such a good demo. I am really looking forward to the full game.
My favorite combo is Greatsword Blade with Rapier Handle, it's so fun
I ended up using the greatsword blade + baton handle. The charged R2 does a nutty amount of posture damage lol.
I'm been pretty excited for Lies Of P sense it feels like it captured the vibes that made me love Bloodborne so much and after playing the Demo I am happy to say that the game captures the vibe that I haven't felt sense the original Bloodborne.
the only bloodborne 😢

@@Miketation I'm really bad at soulslikes but I'm absolutely gonna play this game just for the awesome style and atmosphere and how it looks!
Yep
Try perfect gaurding it's attacks, also it has a weakness, the electric ball on its butt if you hit it it'll explode dealing damage and stunning it for a small time.
Just focus on parrying it’s delayed right slash dodge back it’s frenzy into the spinning arm slam the parry time is a little tricky so just learn that second phase every arm slam sends a lighting strike move to the left it’s final red slam just move to the left or right and charge a heavy jumping slam creates a delayed shockwave just move back it’s blanka ball when it screeches it creates and shock wave around it then lightning strikes dodge it and the strikes will almost never hit you so you can wait on it
Is this like Pinocchio based? Looks unique & actually pretty good.
It is a Pinocchio story. Which is such a cool concept for a soulslike.
yes it is! I love the Pinocchio retelling they're going for and I absolutely love how they've done it, it feels so unique, original and charming! Legit a world I'd love to explore
Pinocchio can parry lightning confirmed.
on the first boss, charlie seems to either not know or forget he can dodge, most of his close up moves are dodgeable after you know their timings
Between this, FF16 and Armored Core 6 I can't wait at all for any of them. I pre ordered this game instantly after playing the demo.
Played through this demo TWICE i was craving the combat so much. I thought I'd dislike the short dodge, but after playing it it felt like I had a real choice. Dodge, or Block or create Space. Very VERY fun combat and polished demo. Bloodborne 2? nah, but ill take it!
Hey! Glad to see you are also loving this game! They did a great job with it. I have been speedrunning it arbitrarily and I think I ended up with the world record atm! I can't wait till september
Fighting robots with a rapier seems very impractical.
What kind of Sekiro: Blood's Born Twice shenanigan is this legion arm
While the atmosphere is a lot like Bloodborne the gameplay is more Sekiro. Really want to see how the final game turn up
@@ImmortalSISU Playing more into parry than dodge. The robot arm seem it will work like the Prostetic tools in sekiro. Obviosly its not totaly like sekiro
@@ImmortalSISUi was getting no i frames it felt like when dodging, i started parrying and it was a lot easier but thats just me
@@ImmortalSISU blocking gives you also an incentive to replenish all the damage you took while you were blocking by attacking.

Not as good as sekiro its more clunky imo

Bloodbourne was my intro to Souls games (never finished it, too hard) and Elden Ring was the one I finally actually 100%'d and beat, this game intrigues me.
I have been following this game for 4 years. And I absolutely loved the demo. Automatically pre ordered the game after
4 years?! Wow 😮
@@LiveLaughLovecraft yeah man, i saw a random trailer way back and just said "i need more" saw lies of p "tba" and wishlisted it, looked at all the updates. I was so excited when i saw a demo release
I‘ve been following it for quite a while as well, and I love the demo as well. However, there is one thing that genuinely pissed me off and that’s if you hit a wall you‘re animation locked for like 2 whole seconds, and that we need to wait in order to upgrade our dodge was kind of weird as well, but I can get used to that. That animation lock absolutely has to change though.
@@Avyrr i think its a stun lock mechanic coz i got it too with fighting certain enemies, like they can parry aswell. Bug or not, I genuinely didnt mind it. Adds more challenge to a fight

The only thing better than a soulslike is more soulslikes. Easily my favourite genre. I am super pumped for this game.
58:20 is literally a section of the first area in bloodborne

Looks super good. I love that the dex build is the bastard 😂
charlie releasing behemoths out of nowhere god damn
I was wondering if maybe the rope attack works on bosses to pull aggro away from specters when their hp is low. I was hoping he'd try it but oh well.
Ok? Dark souls litterally slows down the whole game the lower the framerate is
I feel like Geppetto is the mastermind behind all this
is a lovecraftian god that came from a metiorite that is been use to animate the popets.
He'll totally betray you and make you go through NG+ if you follow him.
Probably why Boss dialogue is unreadable.
I completely forgot this game existed. It clearly has so much Bloodborne DNA and I’m loving it. This one is definitely a day one for me. I’ll take ANYTHING to fill the gaping hole BB left in my heart 😔
I’ve been waiting for this
I can't express enough times on how much fun i had with the demo...
I played a bit of this game. Overall, I enjoyed it, but it was rough around the edges. I think it has a lot of potential if they can work through the clunky parts.
Lol naw, skill issue on your part. Been a huge souls fan since 2008 and the demo felt spot on.
This game feels so much better than a lot of other soulslikes so far, and has some pretty cool mechanics. Im so stoked for the full game, on top of AC6. Gonna be a good two months
No final fantasy??

One of the first indie soullike with a little bit of dark soul inspiration
This demo just hit different
I’m shamelessly gonna pre ordered this. I know it’s not Bloodborne but the vibe/ aesthetic is so damn good and it’s got that going for it plus an intriguing new take on Pinocchio? I’m down for it.
Just finished the demo, it’s really good!! As a diehard bloodborne obsesser this game is everything I’ve ever wanted
he's not Pinocchio and not even a puppet. But the universe IS.
Only thing they should change is the dodge. Seems a little wonky. Other than that, it looks perfect
Ðis isn't a dodge game.
@danielantony1882
You can spec into making dodge better. There is a base dodge for a reason.
This is still a dodging game as much as any other souls game is a parry game even though you roll more than you'd parry typically.
I thought blocking was not good, and this video proved me wrong😅Please CZcams! we need new codecs asap. It's really hard to watch😿
Backseat gaming on point
I really enjoyed this bloodkiro souls cry demo
As someone who never played Sekiro, this plays like Sekiro and with it's emphasis on parrying. It's more forgiving since it has it's own version of the rally mechanic with Guard Regain. Even if you fail a perfect guard, just attack the enemy to regain any lost health. There's no downside to guarding.
It's a ton less forgiving than sekiro
Accurate depicition of dex builds
Honestly I’m really excited for this game to come out from what I’ve seen it’s like Pinocchio and bloode borne had a child
If there is a single youtuber to meet IRL it's probably Charlie, that would be a wacky encounter.
I stuck at the big policeman in the beginning of the demo...
I was like WHAT? How is he already playing it!
Honestly don’t listen to chat next time. I played this entire demo just dodging and never guarding (like bloodborne) and I had a super fun time. It never felt unfair, like I could dodge every move theoretically. Not saying parrying isn’t good but dodging only is definitely an option.
Telling a streamer not to interact with chat is a brain dead take
@@Z3R0NU11 😂 someone only read the first sentence and not the rest. Just meant in that specific thing bud.

Not guarding is like not parrying in sekiro it’s not really “an option” and it’s definitely not fair to not use guarding
A tribute to Pinocchio through the years
It's a souls-like where you play as Timothee Chalamet
Dodge does have I frames btw, don’t know if you learn that later in the vod from where I’m at rn, chat is bs’ing you, it’s just a lot different timing than fromsoft dodges, but they are correct if you’re perfect blocking it’s better
Damn this is looks like such a good soulslike, I normally don’t like soulslike games that aren’t from soft games but this looks super promising
Isn't Lies of P supposed to be some dark version of Pinocchio?
Pinocchio's a novel by Carlo Collodi, an italian writer. Why's lots of people talking about France? Am I missing something?
This game slaps.
If u sleepy homie get ur gfuel and drink it
I always knew Charlie was an estoc kinda guy. Decent weapon, but swords are for adepts really your lay man is better with a club, or spear. Duelists use swords, fighters use anything else (including swords).
why is it 360p lmao
I hope the devs empahsize the importance of Deflecting in the full release.
Game plays very much like Sekiro despite the aesthetic beingBloodborne-inspired
I was shocked to learn this game was inspired by Pinocchio
So hyped for this game dude if it keeps the same energy as the demo it might be one of my favourite souls likes
Playe on ps5 had no crashes, but the one stream I saw of the demo was someone playing on pc and crashed 2 times.
I had sort of a similar issue, everytime I closed the game my PC had to fully restart
@@alenezi989a3 I 100% agree with you there
