I like how Rafa keeps fighting and not giving up. Novak also rarely gave up any losing match, but at critical points, his focus & concentration were the top level one can have.
I still think Rafa is unique on the mental. He is always fighting, each points, never yielding Djokovic is not like that, and he always tends to lose his concentration and take a breath. He often go break on those moments In the key moments of the match, or when Djokovic is put in the corner, The serb has the best mental in the world though

He suffers setbacks and keeps right on going and winning and winning and winning. It's very inspirational to watch and as a true hardcore fan of his, I wish him to end his career with at least 25 and closer to 30 Grand Slam titles. The best thing about all these is that Djokovic had to win the crowds at the same time. And Wimbledon 2019 is just pure delicious KARMA... that crowd was absolutely disgusting. Whistling during Novak's serves, cheering double faults, clapping when he was about to hit the ball, wiggling fingers, just pure trash. But in the end... poetry!
The reason(s) why the UK fans do not like Novak, is because he did not accept their British citizenship like Murray accepted it. The only reason why they hate him so much...
@@bimbisarsingh3409Yes I agree, I think the 2008 Wimbledon Final is actually overrated, it was just a big deal cos it was Nadal’s first Wimbledon, first time Fed had been dethroned at his grass palace etc, but objectively it wasn’t the best quality wise. The 2019 Wimbledon Final was better.
It just goes to prove, that it's not luck. Novak writes his own story through 'granite' will, not to lose. Simply stunning and unrivalled mental strength.
It always has a dose of luck, even if we don't admit it. When your opponent has one of the best serves ever and arguably the best forehand and all of a sudden he misses, there is a dose of luck. Now, the match points Novak saved in the 2010 US open on his own serve, those were indeed saves because he played the points fearlessly and took control of the rallies.
@@neophytosdm You can say this for every champion in every sport, but when you break every record in tennis and dominate for 10+ years, no it's not 'luck'.
@@neophytosdm the oponent choking on pressure is now called dose of luck for the player? lmao, federer had a better serve, FH, more power, better slice then Djoko and still, in clutch times when what matter most is the mental, he destroyed Federer almost all the times
It’s like everything changes in him. He runs faster , hits harder , is more determined in those high stress moments. He is defining nature… Out of this world!
Federer will hardly recover from his retirement, especially with the idea that all these great records were broken by the third man Djokovic before the end of his own career. Finally we will have retained that Federer was a good player but the records will no longer be attributed to him. it hurts
@@rogerkissier Federer had to experience probably the most heart breaking retirement. If he would have won Wimbledon 2019 he would have been on cloud nine and could have easily retired with no regrets. It didn't happen... poor Federer deserved a better farewell. Djokovic just intimated the F out of Federer.
As a Fed fan you can do nothing but congratulate Novak on these clutch moments. When he's had entire stadiums against him and still comes out on top that is beyond legendary. If your favourite player loses the match sure it hurts but losing sometimes is part of the sport. Fed has made crazy comebacks before 2017 Australian open springs to mind but nowhere near as many as Novak in such critical moments and in hostile conditions. I always felt when the crowds were going nuts for RF when he played Novak it made him more nervous in big moments, not always but sometimes. Where on the other side in some ways that allowed Novak play to play more freely and go for more. US Open 2011 is a prime example of that Roger had him beat crowds were going crazy when he's serving at 40-15 he looked around the stadium and looked nervous AF, held back slightly on the serve and Novak went for an all or nothing forehand and it paid off. I definitely think that was the defeat that got into Roger's head sometimes whether he admits it ever or not.
Roger is bit emotional and mentally weak player. He often doesn't take his defeat with large heart, and that results a blockage in his mind and detracts him from improving. He never improved his game after 2004. He got so many success ,only bcos he was absolutely, god gifted talent. No players in history had been given so much gifted Serve + forehand + volley combinations -- which enables anyone to win every thing.
Novak's fan here. Couldn't agree more. Although I'm happy for Novak, I feel for Roger's fans. It must have been terrible to watch that. For example, I can't forget that 2013 RG semi-final vs Nadal; where Novak choked because he wanted the title just too much.. He didn't have focus in crucial moments and he lost. Still, it can't compare with the Wimbledon final.. Final is final, this was semis, and Novak needed one more game even if he won that one I think (in RG match vs Rafa, I think it was 4-3 in decider).. In my opinion, this is the match that definitely ended Roger's hopes for being the GOAT statistically. While you can say Novak has bad temper, tantrums on court, etc., much less fan base than Roger; you can't deny his results. It stands that Roger is probably the most important player for the tennis as sport. He made it much more popular sport, many liked his elegant style of play and his grace and calm temper. Still, fan base and manners has nothing to do with stats. You can like Roger, but it won't produce him 2 more GS, 70 more weeks #1, 10 more masters.. And it won't bring him back those match points 🙈 I'm sorry many people can't distinguish this. And again, GOAT is based on stats and fandom has nothing to do with it. Had Fed got this one, he would have 21, which would put him in much better position when you look at it now. P.S: I don't necessarily say you can't distinguish that, I'm talking about fans in general. Some of them even came and compared Basketball vs tennis ( how Jordan and how didn't have some stats in his favourt but he was still seen as GOAT in basketball by many. Whereas, while he doesn't hold all criterias, he is best by % in many criterias, won 6/6 rings, etc.). I also can't understand how people can compare sports like this whereas every sport is a story for itself, moreover basketball is group and tennis individual sport and you have much more tournaments and much longer seasons in tennis. Also, in tennis you had 3 universally known as best players ever competing vs each others whereas you didn't have that in basketball.
@green ant Honestly someone could write an entire book on the psychology of the three fan bases of these players there are so many different arguments and strong views on all fronts. I find goat debates in general so fascinating. Especially since you've got countless fans all fighting their player's corner even though that said player will likely never read these comments nor would they care 😄. Speaking of which I used to think Wimbledon 19 might play a role in the debate but I doubt it that would have been RF's last win before Covid and inevitably the injury. Where as Novak looks in perfectly good health to reach 24/25 which is just insane numbers. Can't wait for them to play exhibition matches against each other again in the future.
My Man... Djoko and that doesn't make me a hater of any other players... We're lucky to be in this era. To witness the legends and go through their legacy. Thank god ♥️😍

I admire Novak guts and determination, when the stadium and let’s say the whole tennis world was against him, his will and determination through intestinal fortitude elevated him like a matador defeating 5 bulls at once! I don’t care who you are, you have to admire that!
Whats crazy about all this is that the first time this happened Federer was referring to Novak as a 'lucky' guy and then more than 10 years later he loses to Novak at Wimbledon 2019 in the same 15-40 fashion in whats probably the most painful loss of his entire career.

Agressive doesn't mean coming to net like a stupid, on a slow grass or hard court in warm weather. U have to hit enormously powerful ground strokes from the baseline. Roger was simply not capable of that.

@@scottwarren4998 fine man? Oh, I think you forgot who novak djokovic is. I will remind you. This is a person who forges certificates to get into the country (as at AO-2022); rapes linesmen (as at USO-2020); allegedly "injured" during matches, and then, as if nothing had happened, wins titles (as million times in a career); yells like a mental hospital patient at fans, judges, opponents, journalists, ballboys, coaches; deliberately infects colleagues with a deadly disease by organizing a tournament with spectators and handshakes during a pandemic; abandons his partner before the mixed bronze medal match (at the 2020 Olympics) citing an injury that does not exist. If such a guy is fine, then the world has gone crazy.
Good compilation, WTF 2012 Final is also notable. Federer served for the second set, was 40-15 at 5-3, and Djokovic came back to steal the set and the match in a tiebreaker. I always felt Federer had the upper hand on fast hardcourt and grass based on level of play alone, but the 2011 USO match was such a shocker that, from that point on, Federer became the underdog in just about any match against Djokovic. This matchup was incredibly high level all through their careers and pretty much 50/50 - but Novak turned it around completely by being several levels above Federer (and just about everyone else) in terms of mental strength. What a remarkable, rich, unique, dramatic story.
I remember Roger, the "sportsman" and the "class act" as he is often mentioned, to say in the press conference after those defeats that Novak is lucky... what great class he has. Of course after being defeated multiple times like this he stopped saying that :P
Yeah, never understood Federer's reputation as a classy and gracious sportsman. Perfectly nice when he was winning, sure - but anyone can be. He was insufferable between 2008 and 2012 when he started losing more often and having to play second fiddle to Nadal and / or Djokovic. Always being surly and sarcastic towards reporters in post-match press conferences, hinting at unfair reasons as to why he lost, struggling to say anything positive about how his opponent played even when pressed on it. Which is fine - these guys are competitive animals and losing hurts. But just don't paint someone as something they're not in that case.

Novak Djokovic is simply the greatest tennis 🎾 player ever. He is the 🐐. His ability to thrive on all surfaces and maintain a winning record against his rivals. His ability to mentally thrive against players better than any of us imagined highlights just how special he is. Do you want to imagine what he would have done without overcoming Rafa and Roger? We are watching it right now. Ask Carlitos 😂
At 40-15 with two match points normally both players know it is kind of over and both players drop their level just a bit. Big mistake against Djokovic as he knows you will be nervous and drop your level and he feeds off of that and comes back. Afterwards when it's all equal he uses the disappointment of the opponent to win. This only works because Djokovic has incredible mental strength, understanding of human nature and game dynamics.
Everyone at all levels of tennis tighten up when serving for the match or to stay in the match. Even Novak. Many can't execute in those moments but Novak can. He is the only player who can deal with that stress for a positive result 99.9% of the time.
The 2019 GS was just too epic... the British crowd was so disrespectful towards Novac, but he pulled that win with his sheer willpower and mental strength.
It is simply because Novak had improved his service speed, accuracy and bites , and power of his forehand over the time. Roger simply got stuck with his outdated weak backhand which was a joke in modern tennis.
Back when he used to smash rackets in every match lol. Even then it was clear Novak is going to be great once he controls his emotions. That us open comeback solidified his change and made him the monster he is now.
I love it how condescending Roger was after defeating Nole 3:0 at US open and when asked about Novaks potential, he said, He'll win a Slam, sometimes in his futures, Journalist asking how many, he smoked and said, maybe 2 but probably 1!
Question should've been, how many slams would he win after defeating you from match points down? The answer would have been 3, closer to Roger's answer, lol
The only time I have felt utterly speechless and heartbroken for Federer was THAT Wimbledon loss. It was like everything was in place Federer’s glorious 9th triumph at Wimbledon and suddenly Novak decided “Not today. Not on my watch”.

Federer will always go for his forehand on important points, so he will position himself for a forehand even if he is in an awkward spot. That will force him to play inside out shots that will make him vulnerable for a opponent's return. That's exactly what he did at Wimby and he played right into Novak's game.

Si if Federer would have won that match point, one of his trainers, wife or father etc, should have told him this (im sure he wouldnt stop by himself as federers ego and love for the game would have made him continue) But in anyway, he should have stopped. I have watched the 2019 match points a few times. Each time I have the impression tthat Federer was extremely nervous. On the first point his footwork betrayed him. On the second he rushed the net with next to no plan, on an average shot. It is as if he was hoping that Novak would hand him the point(s).
Federer is the only one to blame that Novak and Rafa became such monsters. He created them and gave them confidence by losing many times when he had the lead against them.
@Atak S. Not entirely. Federer is still one of the greats. But Djoko broke the most important of Fed's records. Nadal broke some of it too. Djoko broke Fed's gs record, longest no.1 and winning every gs at least two times. He is also big titles leader. Djoko is the best of them except on clay.
Nope. He is completely fine and enjoying life with 20 grand slams, the same way Nadal is enjoying and the same way Djokovic is enjoying life. Weak, silly and ignorant narrative
This is unreal. He also beat Nadal a couple of times in similar fashion. Djoko is the GOAT when it comes to mental toughness. Was there any other athlete that was this tough? Ever?

3:55 That ball in US OPEN 2011 at 40/30 which hit the edge of the net and went out could have changed everything. Federer would have lost to Nadal in the final guaranteed, but it would have been the second time in a row to defeat unstoppable 2011 Djokovic in GS for Federer. I believe it would have affected the result of Wimbledon final in 2019 too, because part of Federer being shaky at these critical moments is his bitter past against Djokovic
Maybe, but probably not, because he had a problem of wining a match against Djokovic since 2015. I believe Cincinnati 2015 was the last tournament where he beat him.Never again. On any surface.

40 minus 15 equals roger against novak
"I NEVER STOPPED BELIEVING" Novak Djokovic That is how he does it, pure mental strength & super human tennis skills.
I agree
Agree. The beauty can only be found in poetry. 2019 was greatest Wimbledon final ever even trouncing Borg-Mcnroe 1980 epic when ice cool Borg won
And federer should have used the under-arm serve in some matchpoints of the matches.
One day I will tell the story of Novak Djokovic the great. And the tale of 15-40 ❤❤❤
yes...u tell the story of this ANTI-VACCINE JERK WHO ALL PEOPLE BOOOOOOOOOOOOED WHEN HE PLAYED AGAINST THE REAL GOAT FED.
You don't need to, the story is widely known.
Amazing ! Incredible ! Unbelievable ! Impossible ! Undefeatedable ! Unprecedented !. G.O.A.TKOVIC !.
Most players would play very passive when under pressure but Djokovic just goes god mode simply a mental giant
It’s like everything changes in him. He runs faster , hits harder , is more determined in those high stress moments. He is defining nature… Out of this world!
Poor Roger even retired probably still has Novak PTSD.
He still wouldn't have as many slams as the other two.Such great 3 players in the top will hardly ever happend.
LOL!!! so does his wife.....
And federer should have used the under-arm serve in some matchpoints of the matches.,
As a Fed fan you can do nothing but congratulate Novak on these clutch moments.
And federer should have used the under-arm serve in some matchpoints of the matches.
@@scottwarren4998 That would have been hilarious 😂 wonder if they might have worked
Djokovic-Federer played three Wimbledon finals.
Djokovic won all three times.🏆🏆🏆

Whats crazy about all this is that the first time this happened Federer was referring to Novak as a 'lucky' guy and then more than 10 years later he loses to Novak at Wimbledon 2019 in the same 15-40 fashion in whats probably the most painful loss of his entire career.
That interview was in 2011 after the USO semis, so 8 years later.

Agressive doesn't mean coming to net like a stupid, on a slow grass or hard court in warm weather.
U have to hit enormously powerful ground strokes from the baseline. Roger was simply not capable of that.

@@justsaynototv8366 Same here. Lost all respect for Roger after those incidents.

And Fed will forever be known as, mr 40:15 🤣.
Yep: 40ger 15derer

Novak is a combination of Russian / Scandinavian physicality , extra-terrestrial mentality , Formula 1 velocity , Garry Kasparov mind game , super robotic mind-body coordination , Roman Maximus-like gladiatorship ,..........superhuman agelessness - that's why the late Bollettieri considered him the most perfect tennis player ever in history and possibly forever . There is no need for tennis players fandom to deny these facts in whatsoever ways , deal with these facts , He is the immortal GOAT ever , one more thing , he is independent of fandom , of being loved , of being praised , of being liked by media and governments , when is about to face any other super tennis players , he knows that he faces not only one players but a whole army of that player , he most often though comes out of the match as a victor , he is the only GOAT .

What is more incredible than coming back from 2 sets to one, a break down in the fifth against the # 1 player in the world, against the champion Djokovic in a Wimbledon finals? ... also beating Nadal his other biggest rival and other "Big 3 member" in the semis (revenge from the 2008 finals) ... beating Dkokovic and Nadal back to back, sealing an unprecedented 21st grand slam victory, a 9th Wimbledon title and retire forever from tennis, establishing a position that "In my time as tennis player, not Djokovic and Nadal could win more than i have won; they could win more in the future, but not in my presence as a tennis player and not beating 2 big 3 members back to back and coming back in the finals of the most important and prestigious tournament in the world the way i did. Novak must be Roger’s nightmare for the rest of his life 😢
And it should! Happens when you arrogant
Nope. He is completely fine and enjoying life with 20 grand slams, the same way Nadal is enjoying and the same way Djokovic is enjoying life. Weak, silly and ignorant narrative
6:06 To hit such a backhand at such a moment - that takes balls a lot bigger than those tennis is played with!
that wimbledon game i remember watching. unbelievable. it was great for advertisements
This is unreal. He also beat Nadal a couple of times in similar fashion. Djoko is the GOAT when it comes to mental toughness. Was there any other athlete that was this tough? Ever?
He never beat nadal when nadal had match points. Nadal has done it to him once tho. In Madrid 2009
There was never any athlete like NOVAK!Not even close…All of them together,,not even close
@DEBAYAN NATH similar, not the same
@DEBAYAN NATH hey man, whatever. Don't call me a liar, ok? Djokovic is a better player than Nadal. It's a fact.
Facts do not lie. Novak is the GOAT because of his stats sheets.
You forgot 2 another cases:
WTF 2012: Federer served for the second set abd had 40-15, then went on losing 3 games and match
US Open 2015: Federer had 40-15 at 4-5 in the 3rd set, and blew it.
GOAT!
He is just out of this world🐐
Simple story. Novak Djokovic is the better player. Much.
simple story...........U ARE AN IDIOT if u think this.

That ball in US OPEN 2011 at 40/30 which hit the edge of the net and went out could have changed everything.
Absolutely agree. I am not sure about loosing to Nadal in the final, but possibly yes.
He was close in 2014 Wimbledon too
Maybe, but probably not, because he had a problem of wining a match against Djokovic since 2015. I believe Cincinnati 2015 was the last tournament where he beat him.Never again. On any surface.
40-15 first serve wimbledon final, it was down the tee, a classic bread & butter federer ace. it just clips the top of the net. could of been a lot different. but always credit to djokovic.
the best . no more comments.
*Good Things Happen to Good People*
Not once not twice not even three times but a lot of fucking times! no one can call Wimbledon 2019 lucky! Novak does this for fun especially against poor Roger hahaha. GOAT
Federer is the GOAT of 40:15s
Novak is the GOAT
Rafa better
@@yussepig6629 rafa is the GOAT of ATP Finals! Bahahah
Idemoooooo la mentalidad más poderosa de todos los tiempos the one and only #1 The Goat 🐏
Novak holds his nerve better on the real pressure points much more so than Federer did but love to watch them both. Both legends.
