As a non Liverpool fan, I have sort of a soft spot for the Mersey club, because they dominate British Football during the 70's & 80's. Under Bill Shankly three league titles, two FA Cups and one cup in Europe and then Paisley took over and he won seven league titles, five league cups and four cups in Europe and then Dalglish three league titles and two FA Cups and unfortunately English clubs were banned for playing in Europe, but Dalglish was also a winner like Shankly and Paisley. As an Arsenal fan, am so jealous of Liverpool not only for their fast flowing football but taking Ray Kennedy from us. Liverpool had Toshack and Keegan who were both devastating in their 70's squad and then in the 80's with Dalglish and Rush.

Bob was the chairman of a board that had assembled a great deal of football knowledge. The bootroom had Joe Fagan and Ronnie Moran.

Why use a Manc tune in the opening sequence?

For me Shankly was the greatest ever Liverpool manager of all time as well as a leftie too. Shankly won 3 league titles, 2 FA cups and UEFA cup. The Anfield red blood made Shankly the man of his times.

there is no contest between sir bob and taggart, jock stein, bill shankly, matt busby and a few select others are the only ones to be even mentioned in the same breath as sir bob, no one has ever got any where near what he achieved, to win 3 euro cups, proper ones too, and six proper championships in nine years is beyond belief, 3 euro trophies in a row and 2 back to back euro cups, who else has got anywhere near that? on a budget, not like todays loaded up success buying tosser managers!

But as the video says: Shankly "Laid" the Foundations.
Only for Bill Shankly there would have been no modern Liverpool F.C.
Yous are not Good Judges if you don't see that !

as said elsewhere , Bob would have been unknown had not Shanks made LIVERPOOL into the basis of dynasty that , despite selfish commercial infestation, still exists worldwide.. this video misleads, Shanks was the inovator, who learnt from mistakes , and for ex ample the defeat v REd Star , Shanks melded British aggressive football with "continenta;" (watch the 1974 FA cup final - I believe to this day that Shanks said to himself, " I have done it - its enough" and left Lfc... he gave his all and no one , not even Bob who cleverly took over and built on Shanks idealism... but dotn ever think Bob could have done what he did had Shanks not gave his life to the club and thats why for true REds NO one comes close, and never will do, ..got it?
