Who else is here after watching the appendix story to see how well Stephen was concealing his pain?
You have no idea how far down the comments I had to go to see someone say it, was kinda worried for a bit honestly.
@@jackl4laughs 😌
Definitely back to watch Stephen's face specifically.
@@aggimaggi7246 I'm just amazed he was able to talk about or look at food without blowing chunks on Jose. 😂
Me lol
In the early 90s I was waitress at the same restaurant where Jose was the chef. He catered my sisters wedding for free. He was always a really good guy
That's so great to hear! We need more people like him
Wow
Omg Stephen was in big trouble here...he already had a raging fever from his appendicitis...he said when Chef Jose grabbed him to dance he almost passed out from the pain..no one knew!! So glad you're well Stephen!!! ♥️♥️♥️
Ok, there must be a new Emmy category for, “The Show Must Go On!”
Gosh you were REALLY holding together my friend. It’s truly not at all obvious that you were suffering from a burst appendix. 😮
I’m so thankful that you got to the hospital in time.
Knowing what we know now about this episode I am infinitely impressed that’s Stephen managed to tape this show
I love Chef José's joy and enthusiasm!
Yes! I've had a crush on him for years 😍
Absolutely!
And you can tell he has a big heart.
As soon as I heard about his WCK, I started donating to it. The fact that just a few people could get into places, in short order, while governments couldn't, was so impressive to me.
"Build Longer Tables, Not Higher Walls" ~Chef José Andrés
¡Dios te bendiga a ti, a tus amigos y a tu familia, Chef!
I love what José Andrés is doing to help people all over the world. And yet when I watch him and listen to him with Stephen, I can’t help but think that he is being played by Robin Williams😂
Too Funny!
I can’t believe Stephen had a ruptured appendix here and made it through 2 whole shows. Real class
Stephen did this with a burst appendix. Amazing!
Ruptured appendix cotton candy...mmmm! Stephen, you are an absolute pro. Welcome back!
After seeing the latest episode, I have come back to this to say I can’t believe Colbert taped this whole episode while having a ruptured appendix 😵💫😵💫😵💫.
World Central Kitchen was nothing short of incredible, with what they did here on Maui.
I am glad to hear that my small donations actually help people!
And yet, I haven't seen anything about WCK work on Maui in the local news. Chef Jose is my hero ❤
I'm so glad that Hawaii got some of the help they needed. People don't realize how isolated an island is when there is a disaster like what you went through. It's not as easy to get assistance to you as it is on the mainland. That goes for all the island territories; you're essentially cut off from the rest of the world.
What WCK did for Puerto Rico was also incredible.
They were able to get up to the mountain people who were cut off from the rest of the island due to downed trees & rock slides. Most of the roads leading up to the mountains were closed yet Chef & The Team were able to get to them. That made me so happy because my BFF, from college, has family living up in those mountain areas. They weren't forgotten about.
I trained to volunteer in a World Central Kitchen relief kitchen and I have so much respect for the organization's mission. I look forward to volunteering when next I am able to travel. Do get their cookbook and this graphic novel.
Chef Josè's passion, enthusiasm, and generosity of spirit is a "feast" for the Spirit before even tasting the food.
Chef José is a global treasure.
I was waiting for this!! José is just awesome and hilarious. I hope they’ll always keep the tradition of having him on before Thanksgiving.
Stephen is a boss, dying and still manages to be funny and smile while dancing despite a terrible medical event. Don't know how you did it sir, we truely don't deserve a great comedian like you multiple nights a week most of the year. Thanks to the team and band too, not meaning to leave you out.
And also way to invent the new Renaissance Festival special, turkey legs covered in cotton candy.
Love Chef Andres!
Looking for exact Appendix Explosion.
Chef Jose is a sweetheart, a giving man and a really funny guy. Anyone who encounters him is incredibly lucky and all of us, especially the parts of the world have that have been devastated by disasters and wars, are so lucky to have him. He doesn't take sides he sees people in need and helps them and that's how we all should be
Two of my favorite people ever in one place!
Extra shoutout to Stephen being committed. We know three weeks later that in that moment he was in extreme pain and his appendix had burst
This man's acting abilities are almost without parallel. Just look at him acting like he's not near death and in unspeakable agony.
World Central Kitchen & Chef Jose Andres also just published a cookbook with stories and some of the recipes they’ve used at their various relief operations. The forward to the book was written by Stephen Colbert.
I’ve been to José’s restaurant Oyamel, where the salt air margaritas are served. They are THAT good. You can take as much salt as you want in each sip, even if it’s none. It’s brilliant.
It is certainly sounds brilliant! I am curious as to how the salty foam is made though...
@@hestiathena4917I'm guessing whipped/shaken egg whites and salt?
@@nth.aurora according to his recipe in his cookbook "Vegetables Unleashed," the main ingredient is Sucro, an emulsifier found in Japanese and modernist cooking.
1 cup of water
1 teaspoon of Sucro
1/2 cup of line juice
2 Tablespoons of Kosher Salt
Heat and whisk until it starts to bubble. Let cool.
Blend with an immersion blender until foamy (at his restaurant, they had a bunch and whipped it before scooping some foam onto the drink).
Heehee green cotton candy mustache. Wonderful man is doing so much to help people 👍🏼👏🏼
Stephen's theater crew side kicking in when he realizes what Chef Andrés is about to say is gonna be the important clip from this episode and immediately making sure he doesn't do it with foam on his face is everything
I can't believe Stephen was experiencing a ruptured appendix pain here.
We love chef Jose andres
I love Mr Andres and donate whenever I can. Fantastic man.
I very rarely watch the guest segments on talk shows, but I always watch Jose Andres ❤
It's mindblowing Stephen was actively dying during this, and still danced with a smile.
Amazing to hear that world central kitchen is in Armenia. His organization is really paying attention to what is happening around the world.
And the fact that they can mobilize so quickly is astounding.
Pure passion for food and life Respect
Love Chef Jose. He's a blast!
Looking out for the signs that he was in terrible pain. Now we know it is easy to spot. Glad he's ok now.
He does sound strained now that I look at this episode again.
God bless José, animatedly telling us all that we need to help everyone, everywhere who needs help with salt foam all over his shirt and a matcha powder moustache.
yes, during the worst times the best people show up.
Love, love, love! José Andrés ¡te queremos! 👏🏼👏🏼
Mentioning Acapulco and those less fortunate is something that we can all agree that love is the answer.
Thanks for yet another fun loving segment!
Happy Holiday to all of us Bozos on the bus!!
Omg I love Steve Orlandos work! I’m so glad he got someone so amazing as he is to help with this Graphic Novel! ❤❤❤❤
Humanity doesn’t deserve this wonderful man❤
His accent is mesmerizing.
Pure Catalonia, Spanish!
.
I lived in South Florida for 32 years, I took 3 yrs of Spanish in HS, & my friends & neighbors were from a variety of Spanish-speaking countries. Each country had its own dialect & words to describe things. Sometimes it was really difficult to understand their Spanish, especially if they were speaking very fast.
I went to Spain, while I was in HS & I absolutely adored how people from Spain pronounced their words & the rhythm of their speech. Their Spanish is so clear & concise. The only time I couldn't understand what they were saying was if they used a word or the future tense which I hadn't learned yet.
Love you Chef Andres. Can't wait to see you on the other side of this. 🥚 🍨
Love the green mustache he ended up with!
😁I’m imagining drinking it out of a fresh coconut garnished some pretty fruit and topped with a paper umbrella 🍭🍢
Mr Colbert has met ChefJoseAndre ♥ So grateful for him and all the good he does.
Thank you for celebrating the good people are doing out there!
Love WCC and I love these segments with the two of them. So entertaining.
I love this man! He deserves ALL the hugs!
Nothing can replace the traditional Thanksgiving dish of Spaghetti Carbonara...
Or the traditional stressed-out cook's Thanksgiving drink of 190 proof Everclear shots... ;-P
Spaghetti Carbonara Alfredo?
Thanksgiving hss never been Fun before 👏🏼❣️😘✌🏾🕊️🙏🏽🕊️
"This is shockingly good!".
Yeah... sweet and meat tend to go together well.
That was chef's nickname in highshool btw. Sweet 'n Meat José!
😂♥
I could watch these two for hours
Jose deserves a Noble peace Prize
Agreed, for Humanitarism!
Didn't they give him one yet? WTF?
I have only ever had dreams about one food… And that was the cotton candy foie gras from Jose Andre is at the SLS bizarre, and also Meats in Vegas. It is the only food that I have ever sold that kind of compulsion for.
And I am so picky on texture - it’s literally my perfect food
Dios lo Bendiga @chefJoséAndres.
Orgullosamente Acapulqueña 💋❤️🇲🇽
Never disappoint
Respect to papa bear for doing this with a ruptured appendix
Get this Chef a show immediately. Hilarious
He had a travel show on CNN.
@@titusmccarthy The one with his 4 Daughters, right?
Came here to see ruptured appendix Colbert in action.
4:27 “This is a way to say to people when they’re going through hardships, let’s have a good time.” Stephen Colbert was going through the hardship and unknowingly he made him dance through it. Glad he survived the dance and operation!!
That's what cotton candy was missing.. paprika!
Love from Armenia ❤
I'm sure their is a saying somewhere about not trusting a chef unless he has a green mustache? Great vid, making cotton candy looks fun!
Ruptured appendix and he had to eat a turkey leg wrapped in cotton candy.
Anyone else here to see Stephen with his ruptured appendix?
We love you José Andrés. ❤ From México.
Amazing DC restaurants!
Oh I like him he is a real artist.
Cotton Candy is amazing! I make cream with violets and cotton candy, decorated with mini merengues.
Come on people ❤❤❤
Please spread the love
That form was the money shot!
Appendicitis cam
Drinking a margarita while dying... badass, Colbert!
That was a fun mess lol
The ruptured appendix story brought me here.
i love how novel and perfect the idea is to start associating cotton candy with Thanksgiving. genius.
Didn't Stephen ask Evie for a cotton candy machine for Christmas once?
I LOVE YOU CHEF! 😭♥
Thank you World Central Kitchen.
Thank you Chef 💚🖤 Your message and your vision are pure and heartfelt, what's to not love about that! All life comes from the ocean. Still, we need bartenders to tend the bars. "Neo possibilities" ah, my Sith heart purrs at the wonders of the unnatural dreams coming true. I'll take a blood martini for this thanksgiving :p 🧡🖤💜 With orange of course, where are you minds at? xD
Chef José Andrés for sainthood 🙏🏽
Shockingly good!
I'm not sure what type of Margarita he's drinking, but the ones I drink are with hot pepper and salt or just tajin.
Jose is a real-life Santa Claus
Saber todo el dolor por el que estaba pasando El Señor Colbert con el Gran Jose... Solo se le puede admirar y respetar... Eres un valiente Colbert... Un fuerte abrazo... Saludos.
You can hear Stephen breath catch here and there, but that's about it. Amazing he got through the show.
Love your videos
What a treasure he is!
A cooking graphic novel. That sounds good.
You can see the pain in Stephen’s face.
❤❤❤
…If you see Santa with a green beard you know what he’s been up to!
Margaritas with Bev from Joannes in Vegas
The man is already an icon.
Cotton candy rocks!!
💚
I made my Mom buy me a cotton candy machine when I was little. The first time she used it, she was covered in the strands of cotton candy & she said, "That's it. This thing is gone." We never used it again.
😂
Oh, this is so sad.
Same! 😂
A cotton candy machine in your home?!
That reminds me of the chocolate fountain in Bridesmaids!
I can imagine the mess!
Is Jose single? I think this man is incredible, simply genius. W.C.K. is the new U.N.❤
Chef José deserves a noble peace award.
😭poor Colbert was not having a good time in this segment. cant imagine how he did this with a rupturing appendix. ouch thx to the doctors and nurses who fixed him 💖
