I am surprised that I haven't seen a comment about how Dave Matthews was watching the movie Samurai Cop when he was writing/creating the song Samurai Cop (Oh Joy Begin). The song has nothing to do with the movie, it's just that he was watching it when he wrote it.

I love all the movies he mentioned so much. Revoeweing deliciously bad movies is far from a new idea but no established celebs doing it and he's a historically funny guy sp I'll def listen!

I have no clue which "Samurai Cop" Mr. Scheer is referring to here in particular...but to the best of my knowledge, there's no movie of that title, made by a German director.
The "Samurai Cop" that I know, was made by an Iranian director.
German - Iranian...not the same.
I need no 2nd opinion, Paul Scheer is the man.
Hate to nitpick but the movie SAW is actually not very bloody at all - it's almost all in what you *think* you see. (The same is true of Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Psycho)
But the saw franchise is a lot of torture porn, so it’s ok to cut him some slack on the statement of the premise

Thanks for the story, Paul. Yeah, Lou losing it on his bicycle in traffic….. sounds about right. Those daze in the early 70’s, he could move from depressed to rage in 0 to 60. Thankfully, he found meditation and Buddhism.

Obsessing about other people's trauma to the point repeated situations are set up to entertain others will not age well. Not impressed with how that was done with me and my kid and family and how they may have brought me into the Kennedy family story.
