      I had Fender Samarium Cobalt jazz bass pickups took them out right away. Too clinical, clean with no depth or girth.

      @@JeremySheppard the squiers of today destroy the Mexican standard models I had in the mid-90’s. My kids have squiers and when I play them I honestly wonder if you really need anything more

    I’m in that small camp of people that actually like the tele neck sound so I definitely like the originals more as well.
    But this is a good quality demo - straight to the point, highlights the differences so I certainly appreciate you, sir

      I like the tele neck for being a tele neck. While I prefer the Strat neck in general, the state neck cannot do what the tele neck does. It’s just different and sometimes that difference is necessary

    I've got a Squier Affinity Tele, in Butterscotch Blonde. As a beginner, it's a great starter guitar

    I got the brown one yesterday. Ordered replacement PUs after half an hour! I went with a set of Porter Gatekeepers. Can't wait to hear what happens. It's a cool guitar, but on mine, the body is a bit of a joke. It's only made from two parts, but they're radically different in color, and one of them is about a third, the other two thirds of the body. Looks goofy af. Oh well.

    I like the stock pickups in mine and didn’t see a need to change them. Better pots switch jack and wiring was a good upgrade

    I just got one of these for $250 used at GC. It’s awesome. I actually dig the stock pups and will probably keep them.

    Maybe just replace the neck pickup. Keep the Bridge pickup to keep the tele sound.

      Both pickups in a telecaster have unique tones. Neither is less Tele than the other.

    I allllmoossstt bought one of these last week, but I found a used MIM tele for just under the Squier retail price. If not for that, I 100% would have pulled the trigger on that bad boy 🥵

    If the intention is to have an apmost strat sound on a tele body, yes, but the original pick ups is all you need when you want the real tele tone.

      Plus those are 300$. Might as well get a used usa tele. Your right around the same $ after upgrade and u can get your $ back if u wanna resale. The squire won’t be worth near that even with these pickups.

      @@briankeenan4901 yea I really didn’t under stand this upgrade at all. I think a set of tex Mex would be much better for this guitar. U can get em for close to 50 used or 75 new. I just saw where a 1998 USA standard sold for 900 on the verb yesterday. Even if u can’t find one listed right at 900 a lot of times people asking for 1050 and 11 will take 900 if they have had the guitar up for months. Just gotta dig sometimes

      @bigtsshackfestival9563 honestly, this is why I give Squier mod-heads so much guff, because they simply cannot add... and whatever they make has zero resale. Totally a boner's practice, if you approach USA prices used, and it says Squier and Korea on the back, you fucked up in my mind. It's wasted time and effort, honestly. Look for great USA used, and mod those. That's what is missing.

    The nickel cobalts are shite. I don't know why I see so many videos recommending them. Just because they are new I guess. Even the Fender people said it's a challenge to get a nickel cobalt pickup to sound good, and that they had to do crazy things to make these sound even somewhat good.

    The Harley Benton tele is the best sleeper tele and are cheaper than a squirt. Don’t believe me try for yourself. You’re welcome.
    Btw never mess with swapping pickups in a tele. It’s the perfect match of bright bridge and mellow neck. Unless of course it’s your YT video, in that case do whatever you want!
