All I can say is this, I'm 56 this April 6th,. I'm a former 80's metal Bassist/Guitarist/ Vocalist who's favorite Bands are Iron Maiden, Queensryche, Skid Row, Dokken, etc...guitar driven bands with great vocals. I found Band Maid from the MV Thrill, about a year ago now. I watched a lot of fan cam footage of their World Domination (WD) world tour. It was small venues in Europe, England etc. and they played like 4 dates in the US. I wanted to see if they were real. They were. I have since purchased their last 3 albums, WD, Conqueror and Unseen World. I play them constantly, rotating CD's and still it' has not gotten old. Band Maid obliterated MY sweet spot, as you say. They are my favorite band... period...I'm done They are such talented, beautiful and HUMBLE young ladies.....its hard to believe they can be sooooo good at what they do....but they are. Welcome aboard the Band Maid express LOL Thanks for the reaction and I hope you continue on your journey. I don't regret even one second of MY Band Maid journey.. I love them all, each member for her own contribution to this amazing band. If you removed ANY one of them, the magic (sorry for the pun Miku) the magic would vanish. I hope that never happens and they make many many new Albums. Sorry.... I got lost in them again LOL Enjoy

They are the greatest rock band on the planet and they sound like nobody else has ever sounded. If you want your skin peeled off, check out their live stuff, it's without equal.

"I was not ready, let me start over" is one of the most common phrases from first-timers. :) If hard rock is your sweet spot, boy howdy have you just hit the motherlode. They have dozens upon dozens of songs of this quality or better. Hard rock is my sweet spot too and this band has completely re-invigorated the genre for me. I only found them last year and they've already become the first band I've truly loved since At the Drive-In in 2001.

A great starting point but live is where they really shine. Buckle up and check out their live versions of Freedom, Domination, Play and Onset (a jaw dropping instrumental) - after that, you're on your own!
Kanami on the guitar is a genius. She has her name in kanji meaning song wave. Literally, she has a big wave of music all over the world. She almost composes all the songs, but the credits are band-made. Akane on drums and mass on bass are the best rhythm sections in the rock music world today. Akane was praised by Jimmy Page as the best drummer and took a picture of her with her. Misa is known as the barefoot assassin. She can play anything from jazz, rock and r & b. Vocal Saiki doubles the charm of the band with his unique voice as well as his beauty. Miku, a side guitar and vocalist, is the founder and spokesman of the band and writes all the lyrics. In recent years, his guitar skills have improved and he is an indispensable part of the band. Please enjoy more various songs. There are more than 10,000 reaction videos of fans around the world for various songs on the net, so you will never get bored. Please get deeper and deeper.
You were good until you tried to use the word "literally." That's not what it means.
Band-Maid is IMO the best band out there today, especially LIVE! They are SO MUCH better live, they always add something like intros, outros, solos etc., they put a lot of effort into their live performances... Real hard working band, incredible musicians, charming ladies and a bunch of friends rocking out! They have their own style and a few seconds into an song you directly know:
It´s Band-Maid! But they melt a lot of genres into their music hardrock, rock, punk, metal, funk, jazz, blues, is often prominent in one song. It´s the best band i´ve discovered ever, i always said for the last 15 years, but overall they are really something else IMO it´s tough to think about any other band with this amount of talent! P.S.: If you wanna check out something that´s missing these days, i would say watch Onset (live)... Don´t wanna spoil anything, but they do this regular and i am missing something like this from other bands a lot!
I like what someone noted about the metaphor of the cars (Jag and Cadi). It's the British and American music industries, and the direction it is headed? Once it goes up in flames there remains Band Maid. They cannot control Band Maid, Po! That is the “Warning.” So, Band Maid business model: Vision - World Domination; Mission statement - "Warning;" Strategy - Unseen World, Po! BTW, headsets, you need headsets to appreciate their musicianship. Kanami (lead guitar, genius composer) is in your right ear, and she may be shredding the whole song if you don't listen carefully. Miku (Founder, aka Flappy Pigeon, Backing vocals, Rhythm guitar, main lyricist) is left ear. Akane (drums, aka Gorilla) and Misa (Bass, barefoot Assassin) are the best rhythm section out there, are mainly in your center channel. Saiki (lead vocals, last say in everything Band Maid) is upfront. Together, they make-up the best HR band on the planet. Welcome aboard, Po! The Maidiac Army will explain the rest, Po!

Best Hard Rock Band out there, no joke at all. More than 100 song in eight years, outstanding songwriting and musicianship. MVs are really good but worths watch´em live. Check Domination live video in their official YT channel, it´s a good place to start. Live is where they really make the difference.

Welcome to the best hard rock band in the world. When real hard rock started to disappear, the women of Japan got together and said "we cannot let that happen!" - This band has SO many great songs, they'll keep you entertained for a long - long - long time. Try another new one "Manners" if you need to catch your breath. They also do power ballads (a la the 70's), insert some prog elements, beautiful ballads, etc. But mostly they rip your face off, leaving nothing but your lips behind - and they're smiling.
A very good starting point! One of my favs off their newest album 'Unseen World'. You will get many recommendations from the Maidiacs to check out their live stuff, and I concur; Domination, Freedom, Real Existence and Onset (instrumental) are all great live versions. Band-Maid is always better live ;)

This song is the opener to the best album of 2021, Unseen World! I highly suggest picking up a copy if you enjoyed this. It's top to bottom bangers. The other singles off the album are Afterlife and Manners if you want to react to those.

Band Maid, Lovebites, and Nemophila are my favorite bands now, along with Nightwish. All from japan, female. Grew up on classic rock, metal. But these women all rock hard, keeping rock music going today. Kanami lead guitarist, song composer here in Band Maid, along with guitarists : Midori and Miyako of Lovebites, Saki and Hazuki of Nemophila are all in my favorite guitarists. Akane here in Band Maid, Marata Tamu of Nemophila, and Harunna of Lovebites all favorite drummers.

Mate, you picked one of theirs with a relentless tempo - the hint was in the title of the song! You might also like "Domination (live)", "Different" (fast), "Manners" (groovy), "Rinne" (heavy), "Onset" (instrumental), "Daydreaming" (rock-ballad), "Choose Me" (just because it's good), the list just goes on - seven albums and several concerts to choose from.
Band-Maid does not block videos. They love their fans and they enjoy watching reaction videos to their music. This song starts like their concerts do, with a "Maid's Waltz" so that when they start in with their music they really kick you in the teeth with it. That's why they look so cutesy in their maid uniforms, as well.

There’s no right or wrong introduction song to band maid IMO. The most popular I think though is either Thrill or Domination (live version). But I love warning so much an I’m starting to think it’s a great way to get into the band :)

I think, Band-Maid are the best band in the World at the moment. Their songs are complex, and well written.
The often feature great solo parts....and the vocals are devine.
You will now be inundated with requests for numerous Japanese female rock bands. You will find that there are perhaps hundreds of female bands in Japan that are keeping rock alive. This is almost unheard of in most places around the world at the moment. There is a lot of talent in Japan right now and they are rocking as hard and as good as the Americans and the Brits ever did. It is definitely something worth checking out if you love this style of music.

To say they're loved by a wide following is an understatement.They have a great fan base in 66 countries so shows how much they are appreciated.
One of the signs of true great band characteristics is their diversity and creativity. The Maids have that in spades.
Listen to About Us. Exactly the opposite. Atmospheric ballad with the beautiful vocals of Saiki on lead and Miku on backing.
It is a production piece but the overlays really highlight the song.
Like many have stated here,where they really shine though is live.
They're outstanding musicians in particular Kanami on lead guitar who has composed all of their music since 2017,Misa on bass and Akane on drums.
Miku founded the band in 2013 and thought of the concept after working in a maid cafe restaurant in Tokyo.
Couldn't play rhythm guitar initially and learnt from Kanami. She has a softer but distinct lead vocal but one not strong enough to lead the band and that's where Saiki came in.

Misa is a cult figure with whiskey or beer on her amp. A brilliant bassist where there's no such thing as a basic line. Every song is virtually like 1 long solo for her. All over the fret board. Creativity is her 2nd name. One of world's greats.
Miku found a 1 in a million genius in Kanami online.
Listen to the range of genres within and between songs. She really knows how to compose a great 3 to 4 minute song.
Kanami,Misa and Akane are all multi instrumentalists. Play piano,trombone.

If you continue down this rabbit hole you will see a couple of odd things from time to time in the comments. You may find yourself wondering what these people are talking about. The references to pigeons come from the fact that the band founder’s name is Miku Kobato. Kobato can be read as small pigeon in Japanese. In interviews she will refer to herself as a pigeon. “Po” is a shortened form of Korrupo, the sound pigeons make in the Japanese language. As a pigeon, Miku tends to end most of her sentences with “Po” when she is speaking. As others have said, you cannot go wrong with live performances. They add a lot to the songs live.

Thank you for Reaction BAND MAID. BAND MAID is a 5-member girls rock band. They are hard rock band and are now considered by fans to be one of the best hard rock bands in the world. They usually perform 23 songs and 2 hours live. They were formed in Japan in 2013 by side guitarist Miku Kobato. Kobato had experience working at a maid cafe in Akihabara Tokyo and had the idea of playing cool songs with a maid costume. That's why the band was named Band-Maid. "Thrill" was their first music video in 2014, played 2 million times in two weeks and saved them from breaking up. At that time they were just around 19-22 years old. And then they have been doing LIVE overseas and increasing their fans. Now they are writing, composing and arranging all the songs. 35 songs have been released on their official CZcams, all of which are killer songs.
★ The new song "Different" released in December last year has become the theme song for the anime "Log Horizon 3rd Season".
★ They released a new album 14 songs "Unseen World" in January 20 .
★ They released their latest music video "about Us" on February 19th.

She was the lead singer when the band was founded,
but since Saiki became the lead singer, she started playing the side guitar for the first time.
Saiki : Lead vocal, the youngest, and member call her a teacher and she make various decisions. good at cooking
Kanami Tono : Lead guitar, composer (prolific genius), good at piano. hobby is reading. good at making sweets.
Akane Hirose : Drummer, good at funny faces, She is a big eater. She loves anime. She has a lot of friends.
Misa : Bassist, stage drinks are liquor, play with bare feet. She is the most shy and reticent. good at cooking

Like most Band-Maid songs, I like them from the get-go but really start to appreciate them after more hearings and seeing their LIVE videos. I'll go back and see an older song like YOLO, Order, Shake That, Freezer, Before Yesterday, Real Existence, Non Fiction Days and Alone, etc. and realize there's no band that can consistently construct and play like Band-Maid. Saiki Atsumi (Sy-i-Key or Psyche) “Ice Queen" - Lead vocals, arrangements, melodies and High Priestess mediator between the Gods (Band Members) and the masters and princesses (Fans). At 27 and the youngest, “Sensei” (Leader) as Miku calls her, has the last word on many musical decisions. High-heels or sneakers, Sai-chan’s smile melts away the persona. Here come the Maidiacs. They're better live, believe it or not. Check out the Line Club Shibuya m 2020 live or the Zep Tokyo 2018.This is off the newest album and it's the best so far. It's called Unseen World. The Domination album is great too. They do not do a bad song. Everything is top notch.
