It would be helpful to see a side by side durability comparison between the old Gel coat Epoxy coatings vs the new 2024 UV coating and upgraded Epoxy coating
I keep watching these videos over and over again - and cannot decide between the Prospector 14, WildFIRE (which I have paddled and LOVE), and the Dragonfly!!! Ugh!!! All SO beautiful and SO much fun to paddle!
Great news. This was the folley of swift boats. These swift boats are GORGEOUS new and amazingly crafted. It makes me happy yet sad when I see them used because I’m happy they use their boat for what it was meant for but sad that they are either scratched beyond heck or UV baked after you pay a pretty penny. I’d definitely wrap mine in 3M self healing protection film. My next boat will definitely be a Swift. I love my cedar strip but want a more light and feasible boat. Great job guys. Innovation is a beautiful thing
Your hammer test with a flat piece of laminate and a flat rock is not representative of impacting a rock in nature. The load is equally distributed in your test and the laminate is fully supported during impact.
@@billswift8022 Thanks for replying Bill. Looking forward to seeing that. I can honestly say I’m happy I delayed purchasing a new boat from Swift so I can take advantage of this new technology.
Have many inquired about a “ modular’ dog seat. Lower center of gravity, zero limb entrapment, perhaps a shade awning and thwart bumpers? In my imagination it’s the “ bow-wow” package.
Holy Camoly! Love it! Curious to find out if that forged carbon is a whole different laminate, or if it's a specialty finish that can be added to other laminates. I have a feeling that I'll be asking the sales team if my boat is already in production. Your team keeps coming up with awesome options - I had chosen the EK on two tone for it's durability, but now I'm second guessing myself in thinking that if I want the most durable option, I might need to add that new epoxy!
I would get the Epoxy if it was my boat! The Forged Carbon is going to be a specialty finish with the Carbon Fusion laminate! Let me know if you want to chat about it more!
I definitely would - with this new technology now available, I'm wondering if I am better off replacing the two tone option and going with the full clear coat along with the Epoxy. I also have a custom paint option added, which I suspect could look even nicer with the UV Shield and Epoxy combo. Work order 11072, for your reference. Let me know what you think, you guys know your stuff and I'm confident I'll be getting a phenomenal tripping boat when all is said and done!
Bill, I've been trying to purchase a second boat. The sales person i had gotten can answer my questions to my satisfaction. Can you give me a name that lives your boats? I want to get the order put it. Also, love the look of some of the new materials and finishes. Very nice. Planning to sell my prospector single and get a fully loaded kewadin 17' single tandem all carbon.

That basalt innegra kayak looks incredible! It looks like it’s made of wood!
Innovation at every turn. You've just got to admire Swift Canoes' attention to state of art design, product development and manufacturing prowess.
I really have a thing for that Prospector 14 in the background!

Holy Kamoley! What the heck is going on?

Where are you located? I, too have a 14' Prospector and absolutely love it.
Way too pretty to be dragging over a beaver dam.
