You should probably have taken the loan. Millions would have meant a 20× boost to your cash gain, but it'd only cost 15% of your cash gain until repaid.

Lol whoever made this game just used Tommy’s grandpa from the rugrats as the fisherman
The game is fun, but lacks good pacing. You can burn through almost every upgrade(except the submarine and locked stuff) in 2 hours just by clicking normally, but to progress you need over 20 billion dollars which is 20x more than everything else and takes a whole 1.5 days of idle to get. That is a stark contrast to being able to click your way to that point.

when you don't notice the button that lets you buy more upgrades at a time
You missed the upgrade count multiplier in the corner of some of the upgrade screens. Didn't have to use the auto-clicker to quickly max out upgrades.
