The band themselves would disagree with you there.. Geddy is on record calling it "very indulgent" and "I can't listen to anything from CoS without cringing".
notice he says he "left" the band, not quit he said he "didn't think" he wanted to make the commitment, again not quit. translation, they threw him overboard, and pretend he "left"
John spoke for himself years later - he didn't want to do it any more and stayed friends with Alex, they were gym buddies in the late 80s - no one was thrown overboard
If nothing else it does help you appreciate the art of good interviewing. Not every interviewer is as adept at formulating interesting questions, phrasing them, and as you observe here, pacing them to allow the interviewees to speak as freely as possible but in the direction that you the interviewer want.
Thanks for posting. It's new to me. I think Rush made a mistake by getting rid of Terry Brown as producer. After Terry they didn't sound the same. Grace Under Pressure album sounds terrible. Guitar sounds like its in a deep well n gave it's place to keyboards... Don't get me wrong I love Rush and the talent n longevity is unmatched but they should've went back to Terry . He knew how to get the best outta these guys.
Miss ya guys and thank you for taking care of we fans. Always affordable albums and reasonable tickets and merchandise. I owe you guys everything.
Caress is seriously underrated..... Lamneth rules...
You're totally right.

They are the greatest band of all time.
Joe Anthony and Lou Roney at KMAC/KISS in San Antonio, Texas pushed them really hard and made them famous down there.
No problem!
Uncle Fester summarizes "Beyond the Lighted Stage" in 13 minutes
XD so true
I knew how they would answer every question
Uncle Fester! LOL!!!
they were not prog for the majority of their career. they did a handful of albums that would be considered prog.
@CarMan792 You're welcome, thank for the comment! Yeah, he's not bad but his voice drives me crazy.
do you remember jamming to anthem?
Bourne in Japan projectors
this guy must punch at least 5 packs a day
Five LIGHTERS a day by the sound of him
I don't know if I would call the tragedy in Neil's life as "amazing". His rebirth after could be called inspirational...
Resilience on Neil's part
to be honest, I thought he would cut them off sometimes. He's alright I guess.

Why is this whole video out of focus?
I was a fan of Pinfield when I first saw hm on MTV decades ago, but his voice on this is terrible. Not sure if audio or what but not what I remember
Interviewer, don't spend so much time justifying your questions, just ask and get out of the way.
Why....why...why does this tool answer his own questions before he lets them speak?
+Dan Baker I agree.

"originators of Canadian Prog-Rock" - lmfao. WTF is Canadian Prog-Rock?
+Matt Markus If they sing in French does that make it Canadian Frog-Rock
Too fast paced... When interviewing Rush, it's best not to rush.
