- I was able to score the New Coleco Evolved Berserk and Frenzy for $55.00 + 12$ shipping on ebay. They come with the fixer boards that you need to put in yourself.. so Lets do that!

Glad to see they offered a fix to the screen issues, how they got released that way really boggles my mind, as the most minimal testing should have caught the issue. That being said, these were 40 years to late for me, as I would have loved these back when the originals were offered(but not possible then). But now we have true 1/6 & 1/4 scale options that are 1:1 to what the arcade coin ops were, and these seem to be bigger versions of the My Arcade minis you get at Walmart or Target for $20-$40.
If they had offered these in the VFD styles of the originals, I would have been all in, as that would have met my nostalgia for these. But as they are, there are better quality options at higher cost, and there are better quality options at lower cost as well. They truly seem like a product in search of a market, instead of it being the other way around. Great video all the same Glen, thanks for your thoughts, and I agree, for the price you paid, not to bad.

Just an FYI. If anyone bought them from their website and NOT Kickstarter. I messaged them on their FB page about getting replacement PCBs and they are sending them out upon request.

Maybe I should've bought these over the New Wave Toys Berzerk. Not facetious, my New Wave Toys Berzerk came defective.
The new coin in button, which they moved to a coin return slot, doesn't function. In fact, it doesn't depress at all, like it's not a button, just a painted area on the full coin door piece. So the only way to coin in is with the tiny included coins. But here's an additional cruel joke. The coin door won't open! At first I thought this might be yet another defect, but I opened the manual and it says the coin door doesn't open! So how am I supposed to get the coins out?! Nowhere in the manual does it state how to get the coins out of the machine. My machine only came with four coins, I used two of them already, one to play Berzerk and the other to test the Frenzy rom on the machine, but I only have two coins left. I guess I'll have to save them for a special occasion if I ever want to play the machine again.
Suffice it to say, I put in a ticket with New Wave Toys on Saturday and still waiting to hear back. So disappointing and there needs to be some better quality control. I guess I'm just extra bummed this time as Berzerk is a very important game to me. Heck, it was the second 3/4 arcade machine I added to my Home Arcade (I skinned a Rec Room Master machine with its art).
These Coleco machines aren't for me. I backed their Berzerk and Frenzy on their first failed Kickstarter and didn't back them the second go around. I'm glad I didn't, because what people got was a far cry from the advertised pictures. The plastic molds are ultra cheap and light and the stickers look like something printed on a cheap printer you'd get at Office Max for $30. I'm glad you're enjoying them though and that's all that matters.

I received my replacement boards and installed them watching their video step by step. Afterward I noticed the wrinkling laminate on the control decals and the bezel edges. I assume the matte laminate is supposed to protect the decals from rubbing or is it supposed to peel off like the screen protector? They should have clarified that. Also it would be nice to mod the older ones to run off USB power.

I'm currently working with Coleco to figure out why my REPLACEMENT board still has the entire left hand side STILL cut off! lol

@@GlensRetroShow They've also been mailing out some people boards with the BATTERY header missing from the board so you can only play via USB! lol
They sent me 2 Frenzy boards. I e-mailed them and they sent out a Berzerk board in a few days.
Replacement boards? I have not received
If u did it on the Kickstarter..u may have to reach out to them ..not sure ..the.ebay ones came with them
