I would add one of the things accountants new to Canada have in their favour is that the requirement for detailed record keeping etc means they can almost always convey the impact they have on an organization and they have the numbers to back it up. I've had alot of clients (career change/job search) in sales who surprisingly don't know their numbers but accountants always know.
