  • How I remove grout / tile adhesive the easy way quick fast still might be a little hard work but not as hard as scrapping on the dry hard tile adhesive this way was learned from hard work and sore hands arms and shoulders. As promised how I remove tile adhesive the easiest way I know so simple but took me a hard lesson to learn now I share it with you the water wets the tile adhesive soaking in and making it softer and less dusty when scrapped of using a sharp paint scraper some what a stiff one to. Doing it this way will cause less damage to the wall below making it easy to paint plaster if re tile again . yes it can be tiled or plastered over but not as easy and will take more plaster and adhesive to achieve a great result this way will save that harder work and give you that blank canvas you want... again this might not work on all wall tile adhesive as some are very water prof but worth a shot even if so and i wish you luck on your job be you a pro or DIYer #remove #adhesive #DIY this job is in a kitchen but could be a bathroom or any where that had tiles, How to easily remove tile adhesive from walls 98% don't know this

    Thankyuoooo, from a grateful 65yr old lady, if I can do it anyone can, fantastic tip. Edit: My dried on tile adhesive was 20yrs old. I wet it but it didn't work straight away, but multiple wetting and waiting, and it worked, so sometime you have to be patient. No more chunks gouged out of the plaster where I spent hours chipping away at it. what I loved was the tiny bits left actually wiped off! considering this was old, very dried on tile adhesive. mmm I wonder if you soaked tiles that had old adhesive on, it would work, as years ago had to re-apply a tile that had fallen off and spent a good while chipping the adhesive off ( didn't have any spare, tile discontinued and it was not flush with the others, no wasn't me) This is a great tip for the older enthusiastic DIYer. 😊

    Why shouldn't you use bonding coat in a bathroom? What should I use instead? I've got holes I need to fill where base layers crumbled in places. Bought bonding coat as doing chasing in other rooms

    • @macplastering
      @macplastering  Před 23 dny

      Any where there is damp bonding is not good as it has fermacalite in it and that holds the water really well so if re doing a bath room kitchen it's best to try use sand cement or possibly hard wall might be better alternative but sand n cement be the best long term again sometimes bonding is only option on jobs hope this helps some

      Is needs to be pinned at the top! Started with the brush, lots of water on the floor. Read this comment and switched to the spray bottle. Way more control, less water on the floor, easier to get into the corners, and I can spot apt to the areas that look dry after a few minutes wait.
