After watching "12th Fail", it was evident how big of a role Vidhu Vinod Chopra has played in the writing for Hirani films, just how late writer Sujatha has done for Shankar before "I". There's no doubt that these are top-notch directors, but also no denying the fact that the writing plays a big role in their movies.

Brahmastra failed because of the sole reason of the poor writing!! They should have explored Shiva's psyche more - his fear regarding his powers & how it affects the ones he loves, made Guru's character interesting by giving him the dilemma that whether it is wise for Shiva to know the true potential(as he has immense destructive capabilities - could've made sense then why he was stalling!!), given Isha something substantial(could have been insane if they made her birth something integral to the plot in finding the Brahmastra, and given her powers that resemble the nature of the nurturing mother- Parvati), and obviously made Junoon's origin much more compelling by exploring her connection with Dev(possibly like a surrogate parent-child relationship or someone indoctrinated by Dev to be her servant due his end goal or POV on the powers and their wielders). God, the possibilities were endless!!🥺🤩🔥😔 Hopefully, the sequel sees the light of day!!🤞🤞

Their interactions were funny as hell. Science behind it made sense. There was an excellent scene where a burglar breaks into his home and John displays amazing emotions as a helpless man where his mom had to come to his rescue. I thoroughly enjoyed Attack cos of these moments and I felt I totally got the gist of the main lead.

Dunki was a good watch. It was a bit different and hard hitting in terms of storytelling. Yes, they could have showed the gritty donkey journey a bit more for the emotional impact but they showed what exactly happens after successfully getting there. The film is more about what could happen after the journey rather than while doing the journey. Whether it’s worth to take the risk even you might successfully reach there. It could have been a massive hit if not having clash with Salaar. Rather than the movie, everyone was fighting over the screens that time and the box office revenues. This film could easily make 300-350 crs without a clash. Those who really experienced this journey in their own life, they connected to the story.

Soldiers do what they do, not just for the country but for their loved ones and they are as human as people can be and they posses those emotions (deeply so due to distance) as a normal human does. So yeah, SRK did what he did for love.

Vikram Vedha, despite being a remake, truly deserved a wider audience. Unfortunately, the marketing efforts fell short at the grassroots level, limiting its reach. The lack of enthusiasm from the makers, possibly due to internal disputes, contributed to a missed opportunity in promoting their own product. This disinterest likely affected the film's overall visibility and reception. Additionally, the choice of the release date played a pivotal role. With the low pricing a week before the official release for everyone movie for one day ( 50rs or 100rs )audiences flocked to theaters, filling them to capacity for that day.A more strategic marketing approach could have amplified the film's impact and garnered the attention it rightfully deserved.

We can't really say it was VVC's absence that led to the Dunki not being one of the best of 2023. VVC himself has made poor movies (example being Shikara). I am sure VVC gave creative inputs during the making of other Hirani ventures, but by saying that VVC's absence was the reason behind Dunki not being best we are undermining Hirani the filmmaker. The VVC absence topic has become more prevalent because 12th Fail is an outstanding film. Dunki itself as a topic was so niche that less people could connect with it. Hirani did a few things for the first time in Dunki which he never did before it so I think somehow he missed the mark there.

I think Bhediya is just over analyzed. I liked the movie and your comments on developing Kristi’s character and giving a message on the environment is not what this movie is meant to be about. It’s about someone who gets bitten by wolf and the things he does after he transforms into one. This movie delivers it. It’s a short and crisp movie and adding backstories or messages just increases the run time to like 2h 40m and there will be criticism that the movie is long. Besides there weren’t many werewolf movies that has had great characterization it’s meant just to be entertaining with no such message therefore I’m satisfied

Bhediya was a decent/good movie. It doesn't deserve to be in this list.In fact, Bhediya series movies except Roohi were far better than the hits of the year- Pathan, Jawaan, Gadar2.

you know what exactly went wrong with dunki? it's the hypocrisy of indian audience asking for quality content over same cringe ass action and then when it's released they cry that they didn't expect this. imo dunki was actually a good movie which focuses on several important issues and aspects. if your taste shifted towards action then you can't blame the other movie for being okayish..

The first half of Dunki was engaging till Vicky Kaushal died. The motivation to take the Dunki route did not feel enough. Risking your life for what ? So that your mom doesn’t wear pants ? I understand the light heartedness for this movie but 3 idiots was engaging because it had an intense back stories and motivations for their main protagonist while this is what was missed in Dunki . Also SRK and his thick artificial Punjabi accent isn’t helping guys , he’s been doing this in Fan, Jab Harry Met Sejal, Zero …
he’s considered King of Romance but lately Romance is something which is missing in the last decade of his films

The problem is nobody is ready to call out SRK when he does poorly. Even SRK must be thinking good or bad movies I still make the dough. His acting career in reality is flat, but some people have a following with him that logic and sense can't pin point it. Dunki needs aamir Khan or even ranveer Singh (who can act if given a chance in serious roles)

I mean bollywood is North Indian industry.... It will represent north india only . That's why South India has their own industry .... Similarly other states . I think North -east Indians should also make their own industry..... It will help other people to understand their cultures..... Maybe it will gain popularity like South Indians are getting.
The majority of people do know about north east india.... Especially in 2024 .

@@Aradhaya45720 I get what you are saying and you are not wrong.
But the fact of the matter is that we are not as developed as other parts of India, we became a state in 1987 and the other film industries you are referring to is older than my state. Moreover we only have like 15 movie theatre in the whole state so even if we make movies they don't earn their money back and our movie making knowledge/technical ability is very low.
P.s. I know other states are not obligated to make a movie about us. All I'm saying is when I see myself get represented in Indian movies it makes me happy.
