(Blackmore/Coverdale)
Comin' out of nowhere
Drivin' like rain
Stormbringer dance
On the thunder again
Dark cloud gathering
Breaking the day
No point running
'Cause it's coming your way
Ride the rainbow
Crack the sky
Stormbringer coming
Time to die
Got to keep running
Stormbringer coming
He's got nothing you need
He's gonna make you bleed
Rainbow shaker
On a stallion twister
Bareback rider
On the eye of the sky
Stormbringer coming down
Meaning to stay
Thunder and lightning
Heading your way
Ride the rainbow
Crack the sky
Stormbringer coming
Time to die
Got to keep running
Stormbringer coming
He's got nothing you need
He's gonna make you bleed
Coming out of nowhere
Drivin' like a-rain
Stormbringer dance
On the thunder again
Dark cloud gathering
Breaking the day
No point running
'Cause it's coming your way
This is the reason why this video has not had a single 'dislike'!
Man that is one awesome guitar solo in this song!
Which Woodstock-like concert have they shown here?
Woodstock-like concerts plus the great music bands from that era make sixties and seventies the best decade ever!
jon wake up,this song is hard rock-metal thunder masterpiece!!
The Best Mark III Album ever produced ..
RIP Jon Lord. Sweet Child in time you were the greatest!!
powerful, solid, exotic and different from anything else around those years......my dad told me! and I f*****g agree !!!!
A good album and one of the best songs of DP
The news reporter mentions Sunbury at the end. Sunbury was a series of festivals held in Australia between 72 and 75. Deep Purple played at the last one. So I'm guessing that's the event where most of the footage came from.
At least my second favorite Deep Purple album. (Mabey first.... nah, second) But you gotta admit, this is one of rocks most driving songs. Crank it!
my first Purpple akbum. I was 8
..hijacked to later resign and dismiss it as "crap", while the bigmouthed "convinced me to keep trying with Tommy, which gave us an "nowadays incredible good" come and taste". Sins of youth, Jon kept on as long as he could supporting ( same as Ian) assorted types of craziness, such as one member claiming for powder from stages, up to one death on a tour. Well done sir, Thank you and RIP.
Thumbs up if you've ridden the Rainbow and cracked the sky.
Nah I loved this album, got it when it first came out in 1974, sadly it didn't get any airtime, Burn however had 2 songs that got airtime !!!
Great ! Classic !
@metacosmos
Thanks for clearing it up...I remember i heared that once.
What is a Stormbringer? It's the name of the evil, sentient sword, created by the Chaos Gods, in Michael Moorcock's Elric novels. That's where David Coverdale got the song title from.
R.I.P JOHN LORD! =(
best gets bestest
Exactly!
R.I.P Jon
@warminator He wrote the song AGAINST Blackmore, the stormbringer into the band.
TOP ..!!....
that Purple die-hard fan was probably just a MKII purple die-hard fan or something..
Blackmore himself still performs Solder of fortune.. and though the vocals in lady double dealer were too perfect.. yes, obvioulsy some of the music he did call shoeshine music but that wasnt the entire album.. he didnt care for hold on and holy man
Coverdale wrote the lyrics for Ritchie when he was 23 years old.. I mean, what do have to expect.
who one sees as the real purple is a matter of taste.. Deep purple mkI were pretty big with the song "Hush" too.. what is the real deep purple? Yes, it's really a purple album since it had paice, blackmore and lord (rip), which mkI, mkII and mkIII had... the only thing that remained constant..
it's funny when people write kind of like.. yeah.. it's all down to personal taste.. but come on ! [insert personal opinion and make it sound like a general view] :)
I don't understand, it's a fake but sometimes it seems that they play the song and sometimes not, It seems to be closed to the TV version (B/W) but in fact not, is a complete version of Stormbringer with BM really exists ?
You don't like fantasy, Jon ? ;)

The title track ... eh-ehmmm ... (what to say now?) ... is ... (Crap!) ... i-i-is ... (just comply, Jon) ... a great rock song! You know, and it's ... ehhmmm ... another (cannot help shaking my head now) terrific Blackmore riff ... ehhmmm ... but again ... (we didn't know David was THAT shallow) ... ehhmmm ... chhhh ... lyrically ... (Crap!) ... not my cup of tea
"Good album"? I know a Purple die-hard that smashed this album up, binned it. Blackmore himself called it "shoeshine music" referring to the soul/funk stuff and the Stevie Wonder-like impersonations. Whether the album is good bad or indifferent to each person's personal taste its a personal call, but is it really a "Purple" album - many think not. So called MkIII was under the Purple banner but they may as well have changed the name. Gillan/Glover/Blackmore/Lord/Paice - now THAT is Deep Purple.
