A very moving documentary film that shows the sad reality of what has become of this proud fishing community. This example really serves as a microcosm of what is happening Britain -wide to lots of traditional industries, heritage and cultures. No one really foresaw the gravity of the situation as it happened, but in retrospect, the damage is catastrophic. Once these skills are lost it will be nigh on impossible to 'resurrect' them, such skills should be passed down the generations with pride. Personally, I see the impact of the EU and its globalist visions for these attacks on all member countries. I spoke to people in Switzerland, who also see the younger generations moving to the cities in pursuit of work, housing and a 'better' social life, only to leave communities of retired populations behind. Tourists buying numerous properties impacts negatively on the community forcing it to disintegrate as the shops, schools and facilities close due to lack of year round support. We have really 'sleepwalked' into this situation and we must fight for what we still have. Thank you for uploading this video.

I bet it's a hard work compete with the bigger fishing companies, it's really similar thing with all kind of business. Really beautiful documentary, well made and honest! Super work!

For me It's heartbreaking to see this. The trouble is only rich people can afford to buy property in Hope Cove and they don't care about fishing they just want Quaint. Where i come from in North Devon its gone the same way, rich from away moved in got on the council and then didn't want dirty pot and boats on the beach They literally bollarded off the beach to stop people using it in the traditional way.
