When I got pregnant (2 girls), I knew because my breasts hurt sooooo bad. I never had that as PMS so that’s how I knew I was pregnant.

DISCLAIMER: According to Insider.com, "although it is recommended to schedule your IUD insertion while on your period, it can be inserted any time in the cycle as long as you are not pregnant." In Abby's situation, her doctor wouldn't do the insertion unless she was on her period. Just thought we would clear that up since we misspoke in one part of the video. Hi guys, I get it now. In the UK, although it is mentioned an IUD can be inserted at any time during your cycle, it is not really pushed here to have it done during your period. What I will mention for anyone reading this and thinking of having one (hope you don't mind 😬), is that when inserting an IUD during your period, it will be effective immediately. If you choose to have it inserted any other time, it is recommended that you use condoms or abstain from sex for 7 days after having one put in. Lovely video, very real and its great for others to get to hear personal opinions on it.
My doctor said if you do it during your period it will be less painful.

Don’t settle for less, girl! If you choose to be with a man, he should absolutely be as supportive as Matt! I’ve had an unsupportive partner in the past and am now with an extremely supportive partner whose views are very similar to Matt’s. They’re out there!

There’s nothing wrong with not wanting children. Not all women were put on this earth to procreate, it’s a very personal choice and nobody should be shamed for their views on children

getting an iud was one of the best decisions I've ever made... yeah it made me have cramps now and the initial week was a little rough, but all that is so worth it! I find that there's very few people that share their good experiences, and its scary reading the bad ones... thank you for sharing your story! ♥️✨

Unfortunately I was in a lot of pain when I first got my IUD. I got very sick from it. Now, about 2 months later, I am feeling absolutely fine! I sometimes do experience some cramping and migraine headaches, but I'm so glad I stopped taking the pill!

Really love your honesty😊. I am in my late 30s, I have been married for almost 9 years, and I had a hysterectomy last year. Really like your advice in this video.. Young couples should definitely go to a Dr and discuss various Birth Controls, that suits them. You two are so amazing, and I love your videos. I'm on the pill and it works for me. I also have been taking allergy meds for years so I'm used to meds. Horror stories were so scary before going on it! But it's good that there are different methods cause it's different for everyone, some methods are good for some and some methods work for others. You guys are the best!

I just love how you want to spread awareness about this subject. We need a lot of that nowadays. Also, I love how well informed Matt is about everything. A lot of guys have no clue about anything. Obviously, a child is a blessing and you already know you want to wait until after college to start a family, but yeah, enjoy this time between yourselves as much as you can. You're still sooo young. This is definitely what I want to see in a partnership ; tell men from the boys who support in every way, be an anchor for their women partners, and to respect their personal decisions, communicating as a team and working with each other! Girls are strong! I wish that the IUDs of my time were as safe and effective (I was married 1996). I labored w/induction and pitocin for 8 hours before needing pain intervention with my first born and total labor was 10 1/2 hours , then went 27 1/2 hours all natural labor (no intervention at all) with my second born. I preferred the second labor for sure (although I do wish it had been shorter). God made women strong in different ways than men - a great compliment to each other. Oh my god, it’s so great for a young married couple to set a great example for couples to follow. I love your honest and open approach to your channel. I’m 37 with 2 kids, and 8 years married, and I adore you both 👍❤️
Proud of you both. Sensitive subject but you handled it very well. You two have such a good head on your shoulders and when you do decide to have children, they will be raised by awesome parents. So much love in your home that a child would be lucky to have you as parents.
Just a word of advice, my husband and I fully trusted my IUD and we ended up having an ectopic pregnancy. So it's SUPER effective but there is still a chance of it not being 100% effective. Also, ectopic pregnancies can be incredibly dangerous and life threatening so just be cautious around your fertile window Abby!
My close friend got pregnant with an IUD and chose to keep the baby, and it was a very high risk pregnancy the whole time. The embryo actually attached to the IUD, so they couldn’t even take it out during the pregnancy. No birth control method is 100% effective, it’s scary 🥺
I have the copper IUD because I didn't want any kind of hormones anymore (they were messing up my body really badly.) Aside from heavier periods, I'd say it's my favorite birth control method because I don't have to worry about it!
I also loved that Matt was so cool about talking about getting a vasectomy, like he would get it without another thought for Abby. Anyone I've ever dated said that they wouldn't do it and that I should just get my tubes tied which has always alerted me that they may not be the one, haha.

My name is Bente and I’m 14 years old and I’m on birth control for like half a year now, I’m on the pill. Not for sex tho, I had such a bad period that I had to go on the pill. I live in the Netherlands and the pill comes with my insurance. I don’t really have things because of the pill. In de first month I had a really bad headache all the time but that went by because I just needed to get used to the hormones. I only have positive things to say about the pill! My acne went away because of it! I only have light spotting in stop weeks but it’s way better than before. You do have to get used to taking the pill because I sometimes forget it! I just wanted to put my story out there! 💗 (I’m sorry for my English btw)

Matt, if/when you get the snip, listen to the doctor, wait ten days like he said. Don't wait 5 days and see if "it still works". You will regret that choice, trust me on that!

I will say, there are a lot of circumstances in which hormonal birth control isn't an option for women, & it does suck! But I'm thankful there are "natural" methods available.
