Man, what a trip down memory lane. Reeds is so nice. I went one halloween and it was like going to a club 😅 tried going a week later and whole othet vibe. Evrryone was dressed fancy and live jazz. Like a real speak easy haha. Tipsys is also a very fun bar to go to. Good food and they had trivia every Wednesday
Can't believe you didn't talk about Wee-Nee Wagon! Eat there every time I'm in the area
I spent the pandemic on scranton rd, real close to walmart. Went to the islands every weekend
This is very helpful
Thanks! :)
Keep up the great work
Thanks so much!
Im thinking of coming here on a vacation to the ocean.
It’s a great place to vacation!
@@LivingInTheGoldenIslesOfGA Does it have crashing waves at night or lappers? I"m hoping to video some crashing waves at night on my phone?
@@Catloverplayer First of all, Brunswick is on a river, not on the ocean - there are no crashing waves. The waterfront area is industrial, not a vacation spot. There is no beach. For a beach, you need to go to St. Simons or Jekyll. Even there, you'll find gray sand beaches, gray surf, and no crashing waves.
@Catloverplayer
To follow what the other person said, you'd be better off going to Florida. St.Simons is sinking because of people like yall coming here for vacation and suddenly wanting to build large homes or constant businesses. The Island physically cannot handle the tourism any longer, but yall see the doodoo brown water and the one to three beaches we have and think "MAN I WOULD LOVE TO STAY HERE" when it's not all that. We have some of the most corrupt history in the US. There's also literal chemicals in the water. Go ahead, smell the difference between city and well water. Wanna come here for vacation or move here? Let me introduce you to our elementary school that just recently got rebuilt because the old one was on an old landfill!
This is not a place I would recommend people to live. They're gonna wonder why they keep getting sick and not get better, they're gonna start having actual neurological issues because they don't know what's in our water specifically. She's not gonna describe what us locals have been fighting against for years, even before I was born. Brunswick's bad, man. It's gonna be the next flint within the next 50 or so years. Maybe even less.
I've been in the area for a couple of months. Living with friends an hour outside of Glynn County. It is so hard to find an affordable place to rent. Especially while holding down a f/t job in Brunswick. Thx for the information
Thanks for watching! The rental market here is very competitive and pricey unfortunately!
@LivingInTheGoldenIslesOfGA
Funny, because my parents rental back in 2019 was 500-600 dollars on average. Now it's 1,300 or more. For a single wide trailer that hasn't been redone since before we moved into it. Because people keep moving here.
The jobs on top of that are limited to police force, FLETC, or factory jobs; which the factory jobs only pay between 14-15 an hour, still not enough to make the "2-3x the rent must be made," that most places are forcing on people right now.
People need to be aware of the homelessness issue, the issue with corrupt landlords, and how easy it can be to actually lose everything you own here because of the lack of actually good resources, places such as car dealerships and such will try to scam you, esp if you're not from the town.
The local communities areas aredilapidated, areas that once were beautiful, and now they look horrible. I know you only mention the best parts of brunswick, but with the right action (I would even spend my time doing it) the worse off places would return to beauty and I feel like crime would significantly decrease
People should only move here if they're gonna help us bring some beauty and history back to this town imo. Regardless, it's still a highly educational video and for that, I'll applaud OP.
I grew up in Brunswick in the 1960s-70s and still visit family there several times a year. If you're thinking about moving to Brunswick, I only have three words of advice for you: DON'T DO IT. It is a dump. It smells awful much of the time and the water tastes like rotten eggs. Honestly, I can't think of one single reason why anyone would want to move to Brunswick, GA.
I do appreciate your input. I ALWAYS recommend a good water filtration system for my clients, lol. Thanks for watching!
A smell???? I’m moving there for a job what kind of smell they have going on??? 😳
