Are you playing fortnite on windows or on steam os? I was considering downloading Steam OS on my gaming laptop. I tried it on Linux Mint (Ubuntu), unfortunately it crashed after I landed. Is it the same with Steam OS?

ok i thinked about it a bit and i will make some tast on my steam deck... i supose that is givving you more fps only when you have high quality settings for exaple: if i have all in low and it gives me 40 fps i don't this will change much but if i am in a game all ultra (witch don't uses all the ram) at 40 fps maybe in that specific case will be better..... i think?

If you doesn't know its just gave you more vram for the games but steam deck have 6 gb vram this is enough in modern games
