I made this for Laurel's birthday, posted it on my Instagram, and just never got around to posting it on here. This is the caption I wrote on her birthday, November 15th:
Happy birthday to my all time favorite character, the one, the only, Dinah Laurel Lance, the Black Canary. I love her so much, she has taught me SO much, and I’m forever gonna hold her in my heart. Her kindness, her graciousness, & how incredibly forgiving she is, is so inspiring to me. What I love most about her is probably her ability to ALWAYS be so kind and at the same time not let anyone take advantage of that, she doesn’t let people walk all over her. She stands her ground and up for what she believes in, not letting anyone stand in her way.
She knows her value. She’s strong even after having been through so much trauma and grief and yet, she never strays from wanting to do more, wanting to help, she’s never not kind. Her innate will to keep going and to keep getting better with each stride in life is something that I will never stop being in awe of. I’m so grateful for her. Even all this typing doesn’t quite do her justice. There are no words... ❤️

I love her so much. She's so strong and amazing, everything she went through... And the way she became the black canary. She has helped me so much. Sometimes I dream of being just like her, I love her and I wish more people in real life had the courage, love and honesty like Dinah Laurel Lance.

Laurels transformation was unrealistic Sara and Oliver had years of training she trained with a boxer for a few months and her screeching power was acquired during a crossover with Cisco designing the device for her which I didn’t recall.
No she also trained with Nysa and Nysa is a member or was a member of the league of assassins
@@thetrisdamian yeah and it is a superhero show. Plus, it was totally ignored when she started training but as we can see in season one, she grew up learning to fight.
A boxer? Ted Grant, said boxer, is also Wildcat who is a well trained vigilante or at least former one in the Arrowverse. Trained in a lot more than just boxing. On top of what was said above about Nyssa having a hand in her training as well. I can agree her progress was unrealistic, but because of the quickness of it feeling rushed, and not the because trainer.
She didn't strike fear into the hearts of criminals, because no body bothered wearing ear muffs. Not even her team members. If more people were bleading from the ears, including her team members, then everyone would be forced to wear ear muffs and she would be a much more valuable to the team.
