Here's the notes I wrote for the first part of the Tetris theme I used as an example in the video:
22----17--18--20----18--17--
15----15--18--22----20--18--
17----17--18--20----22----18----
15----15
The numbers represent the number of times you have to right click the note block, the dashes represent the number of redstone ticks needed between each note.

This wasn’t clickbait it actually is the ultimate noteblock tutorial
I know it's so helpful
lol
FR ? I came here for looking at some good and quick reviews
pdf folder
something 3:09
i think it would be the ultimate tutorial if he also showed what blocks changed the instrument type of the noteblocks
Always wanted to be able to read music never thought I’d learn it in a Minecraft tutorial
Scyan same
same
But... This isn't reading music. You would not be able to tell me the name of every note on the staff just by watching this.
@@Ausar0 there are resource packs in minecraft that label the blocks.
It's possible.
@@Ausar0 I think this combined with a 2 minute guide on traditional music would do the trick for learning the basics
everyone has to start somewhere and more people understanding music is always a good thing
This is a rare gem.
There are very few people that can explain this in simple terms yet make it so informative.
Thank you very much for this!
69 Likes. Nice
Do you know how to get higher notes?
Teachers using minecraft for music class :)
I love how he explains each thing in multiple ways, so no matter what you are familiar with you can understand what he is talking about

This man just taught music theory in Minecraft. Rad.
Me: * _knows nothing about notes_ *
* _watches how to make noteblock music_ *

Go home music stealer
10:29 You could just place that one to the side of the block. The block is being powered, so every side is an output.
That would power other blocks
yeppi i dont know why he didnt do that
@@somejeanscompanyorsmth9047 what other blocks
That is true, but it is that way so you have space for other repeaters if you need them.
you would need the noteblock above for the emerald block to change the sound however
i learned more here than my elementary music class
you were paying attention this time
@@BlaxeFrost-X
We were payin attention
We just do not know how does it do
also said my pianist teacher
I just tried to learn Music Theory a couple of days ago so, this was extremely helpful for me, Thank You! :)
Familycraft: makes a redstone monstrosity for a Tetris song
iTMG, who plays running in the 90s by hand: *thats cute*
It's actually easier to play it by hand
I have never in my life seen a Minecraft tutorial more helpful than this one. Great job!
This is the best Minecraft tutorial I have ever watched. Not just for note blocks but just as a tutorial
Noteblock tips :
Divide your clicking pattern by 4
(Click 4 notes, click another 4 notes, and so on and so for)
That way, you won't get confused which number are you right now and it let you build faster
Oh my god this is so helpful! Thank you I have been looking for tutorials for songs but they never come up with the entire song, usually just the intro. Now I can finally make anything! The cheat sheets are very helpful too, I’m glad you included those in the video.
Dude! This was awesome! I've been drooling over noteblock music for years and now I can make my own?! Thank you thank you!!!
Edit: 23 hours later and I'm nearly 2/5ths of a way through making a noteblock version of a song I've been struggling to play on the piano for literal years. Dude, you are amazing my guy.
me who don't know anything about music or red stone WTF!!!
Amazing I feel inspired and have definitely learned a lot. I have been looking forward to this for a bit😊
I've been wanting to make a song in Minecraft for awhile now, and so glad I found your tutorial. I had no idea where to begin, but now I feel I will be able to make it a reality. Thank you so much!
Finally, an actual helpful tutorial
I love you, I've been wanting to do this for AGES and you gave me exactly what I needed in those cheat sheets
this is the most helpful tutorial i've been able to find, thank you :)
Note block studio is great, but I think it removes the fun of tinkering with redstone to make in game music
This is genuinely so incredibly helpful and actual taught me a bunch of stuff. You literally taught me music theory, so cool!
This is so incredibly helpful! I know barely anything about music and this made it so easy to understand. Thank you!
This was incredibly helpful. Never learned music theory, but I do understand redstone. Finally got it into a format I can replicate
You made what sounded complicated easier. Thanks for this. :)
This is such an awesome video. I've always been super intimidated by redstone so I was intimidated with creating music with noteblocks. Your video is kind of like music theory and it made it really easy for me to understand. I can read sheet music and seeing how to map out the notes on a block in sheet music form. Thank you so much for this video!
This is exactly what I was looking for. Completely new to reading music, but with observing how it comes to life in a game really makes it click. Thank you!!
Wow!!! AWESOME video FCD!!! Excellent tutorial!
I've always tried to get my head round this and you explained this better than any music teacher ever could! Thanks for teaching me!
One of the gems out there on youtube
This is one of the best tutorials on youtube its just so good
This is such a comprehensive guide, this is the absolute best tutorial for anything I've every seen. Along with the note cheat sheet I would like to put it out there that some instruments, particularly wind instruments will be tuned to different notes, if you're trying to make a song from sheet music for some instruments or a score it may be out of tune if the instrument is tuned to any note other than C, if it's piano music you should be fine but if it's not you may want to check what it's tuned to.
Thanks so much! I made a few tweaks to your redstone so it's more efficient, but great video and now I am a note block amateur.
I'd love to see your design. You should post it on Twitter so I can see!
Thank I’m a beginner in this stuff and I really needed this! Also thanks for the cheat sheets 😁
This is so helpful! Thank you so much for making this tutorial!
This was JUST what I was looking for! You’re awesome! Thank you! My son and I are going to have so much fun with this!
I'm so glad I took three years of music theory, this tutorial was super helpful, thank you so much!!!
Woah this is amazing! Crazy how in just 6 minutes (because I was in 2 times speed) I went from knowing absolutely nothing about how to use minecraft noteblocks to being able to make my own songs!
Holy crap this tutorial is The Ultimate Noteblock Tutorial. Been struggling so much when making noteblock songs even though I play piano and violin. Well, not anymore! Tysm this helped a ton
There are also texture packs that can help you with tuning the note blocks since the particle effects can be re-textured into numbers and sometimes it's a bit difficult since you can miss count
That's so clever! Do you know the name of the texture packs?
Such a great tutorial! Nice work! 👌
Paul llyod, the Mario Jedi....
Thanks, I hate it.
that was perfect, thank you. you totally earned my subscription
Very well made and SOOO helpful, thank you
This was by far the most amazing tutorial I have ever seen I play the guitar and I love Minecraft and I always wanted to put them together thanks to you now I can I have seen so many tutuorials but I never understood them as well as I understood this I have always wanted to listen to my favorite Beatles songs in Minecraft unfortunately not many people have created Beatles songs in Minecraft but now I can listen to Norwegian wood all the time in Minecraft
This is probably the most informative Minecraft Tutorial I have watched.
as a musician and a minecraft player this was perfect!! you explained it wonderfully!! thanks so much!!
Love this video, it's actually helpful with how to translate a music sheet into Minecraft! Thank you sir, thank you so much for this
Thank you so much! I have a survival world and wanted to make a bunch of cool songs and now I don’t need to look at a CZcams tutorial each time
Thank you for explaining this in a way that actually makes sense for musicians!
I was really sad that there was no subnautica abandoned ship noteblock tutorial so I watched this and now I will make my own! Thanks 👍
Now this. This is excellent. I guess i might start learning a bit about music as i assemble a few machines.
This is a great tutorial. Thanks!
That dash thing is super useful! Thanks man!
this is amazing! i can finally make noteblock covers by myself! thanks for this tutorial :)
I'm saving this video man, this helps a lot
Awesome tutorial FCD.
Really great video!
Wow, great video dude👍
Thx i was looking around a while but all i found were useless step-by-step tutorials for one song without explanation, so this was really really helpful. Now I can do Hedwig‘s Theme xD
You know your music! Great video thanks for sharing, very helpful!
Earned a sub! I'm going to apply this in my LoTR themed base :)
I have always wanted to get good at note blockes and you helped me so much
I'm a musician so I've always wanted to make music in minecraft but I didn't really know how noteblocks work, but this cleared it up quite well! Thank you!
I’m also a musician, I play the violin, and I had the exact same dream as you!
this was super
helpful bro, thank you!
Man, this is so fun!
cool. right on time. i was messing with mc music the other day. it can do crazy off beats if timed well. surely not any bpm. but 112 triplets is the way to go. ^_^

Best tutorial I’ve seen!!
This was very useful. 👌
This was very good tutorial nice job!
This is very helpful. I finally understand note block
Can’t wait to try this
Thank you. You explain things very easily and in away I can understand.

This is way too hard to find but soo useful, left a like, hope it helps out, thanks for the help!
wonderful video. even with no musical ability i was able to understand and do this. Thank you
OMG. This is awesome. Thank you very much.
Incredibly helpful, omg, thank you
Oh my God this video is amazing! Thank you!
This is honestly the best Minecraft explaining tutorial ✨
This is so helpful you just earned a subscriber
Thank you so much, this was so helpful.
Omg thankyou so much
this taught me very clearly
A great way to see what note you are on is to go into F3 mode, and the note that you are on will be shown on the right side, beneath "Targeted Block."
I love the packed ice it sounds sooooo nice
Thank you for this extremly helpful tutorial. Now I can set "Chöre" by Mark Forster as my Minecraft doorbell!
This is actually very helpful! Just make sure to watch the entire video and you'll soon become a minecraft noteblovk expert! XD
This is the best video on CZcams. No one can beat it, and youtube peaked bc of it
I’m a mid teen learning piano and I thank you for making this cuz this helps me a lot with both music in general and note blocks
I can highly recommend the Vanilla Tweaks Resource pack that adds a little banner to every noteblock, wich displays the current note
This is amazing!
The only downside is that if you want to make a music that has background notes (I'm not sure what do they call this) you have to make 2 systems that start together.
Came in here looking to learn how to play Minecraft noises and I came out knowing how to read sheet music. Pogchamp
For anyone who wants, vanilla tweaks has a resource pack that adds a display to noteblocks. It shows the number, as well as the note itself. I personally use and love it
Bro if I know this before then was it soooooooooooooooooooo easy! Thank you so much FCDad!
tnx for very helpful tutorial 😄😄
Awesome guide
this is a very helpfull tutorial. Thanks
I have played Minecraft on and off for many years and always wanted to make a crazy song build with note blocks... But when you have actual music software (stuff like Reason or Guitar Pro) that you're efficient in, you start to feel like all the tedious redstone work of timing out the notes and tuning the blocks is all for the simple novelty of having the song exist in Minecraft and you would have better spent your time writing music in actual music software lol. It is fun to play with and I'm glad they have this in the game though because I've seen a lot of cool things done with it.
THANKS FOR THE HELP!
