I'd love to see you compare and contrast the style of Emily (who is brand new to Paris), with Mindy (who is a foreigner with more understanding of Paris, having lived there longer) and Camille (who is French and moved to Paris)!
I’m watching Camille’s wardrobe. Her clothes look like a costume now. I’m predicting they’ll look more harmonious as Camille finds herself.
I’m so happy
All the outfits are quite ridiculous, completely OTT
Ah yes... I was wondering about Mindy too. Then there's Sylvie vs. Madeline from Chicago! (Au pairs are not usually middle aged. That was odd... maybe another little subtle joke... about an American getting it wrong??)
And please include Sylvie too
YES I would love to have you talk about Sylvie and her style. The way she uses hemlines and waistline is fascinating, her "age appropriate" outfits and even underwear. There is a lot to talk about!
yes, please!
Don't talk about her.
Would love to see analysis of fashion though decades from limited series “Queen’s Gambit.” The wardrobe was so elevated in that show. Would love to know if period and globally accurate as she travels a lot internationally for chess (Russia, Paris, Mexico).
Oh yeah. That wardrobe was amazing. I was totally amazed by it.
Oh yes! That would be amazing. I watched the show and thought: I wanna wear that 2!
yaaaah!!!
I see Sylvia and Camille as wearing more typical French fashion - can you do a video on these two ? Thx. You’re great - happy holidays.
I second this request. Sylvie has an outfit collection to die for!
Yes agreed . Sylvie has astounding fashion style
yes sylvie's please.
+++ I adore Sylvie, it would be perfect to see her clothes review!
Camille is adorable! Especially the fact that her parameters are much bigger than that of Emily nevertheless she is always elegant and sexy
A great example of a timeless classic style is Blair Waldorf in gossip girl. No matter the time period: her sense of style is always iconic and delivers perfectly what kind of character she is.
Emily is, of course, fantastic, but I'd also love to hear your thoughts on Sylvie's fashion! She's become my fashion icon in the show! 🤩
I would also like your thoughts on Silvie's fashion progression. I love the actress and I think she could have been portrayed better
Her style evolution also involves a key difference in her hair as an emotional component. She is styled in a way that is overtly reminiscent of Audrey Hepburn. This choice reflects the young woman discovering herself in a big city storyline just as Hepburn's characters often did. The pinned back looks, bobs, and shaping are all variations of Funny Face and other films of the time.
Thank you for noting Emily's Opera House look. The hair fashioned was very reminiscent of Audrey's Funny Face entry into the modeling world.
I loved your analysis of the fashion elements of EIP. I would certainly watch other such reviews of movies and television programs, so well researched and very interesting. Thank you Justine.
I couldn’t believe how much effort went into this review!
same here!
Would you do a Sylvie video for us? Her wardrobe is a dream 😊
It’s so nice to be guided by a fashion designer on how to spot the progression and integration of American to French style. I guess once you live in a different county you pick up their style whether for necessity or not. But this is a nice practice to spot for when watching shows. Haven’t gotten to season 3 yet, but soon will. Happy holidays, J. See you next year 😊
I have no interest in watching this show but every interest in your analysis of the wardrobe and styling 😂 great video. Thank you Justine. Have a good holiday!
Yay, thank you!
Same! I have never seen the show but love your fashion and also cultural analyses of it! From a fashion perspective, I don’t particularly like the unrealistic notion that everything has come so easily to Emily - it sets unattainable expectations and for the viewers too.
Interesting video. I honestly wouldn't have picked out those subtle differences. To me, Emily is always trendy. What was weird for me in season 3 was: I felt like they were dressing Sylive - the boss - more like Emily! Meaning, more trendy, and avant garde as opposed to the classic/femme fatale thing she had going on in previous seasons. It struck a wrong note for me. Did you notice this?
Yeah, I thought that too. So many garish metallic garments (shoes, trousers, etc) which I have never seen Parisians wear, and personally don't find them attractive. I feel that some of those items would be too kitsch for Parisians, even the ones working in high fashion.
I noticed that too!! Maybe it’s a reflection of how Emily is rubbing off on her since we can see that Sylvie is beginning to like and trust Emily more and more
I know it’s been a few years since it ended, but how about doing “Dix pour cent” aka “Call my Agent”? Loved that show! Loved the style.
@@dianafrancomusic that's a fun show, I am thinking about re-watching it
@@dejavu2752 I agree - Season 3 was full of over the top metallic, sequined, fluoro and mesh fabrics - often worn by all three - Emily, Mindy and Sylvie and often totally out of place for the type of event or place they were in.
I loved your Emily in Paris series.
I would love to see you analyse Mad Men. The clothes there are brilliantly done.
Yes for Mad Men!!!
Agreed
"Emily in Paris" is my guilty pleasure show. I never cared about how unrealistic the budget of her closet is because it's obviously fiction, but how unrealistic her style is for literally any place or occasion?? In the first season I only really liked her cocktail and evening looks, and only two of her work outfits (the yellow with black ensemble and that jeans-poloshirt-checkered blazer combo you mentioned in the video) seemed appropriate to me. Season two was kinda similar. But in the third season her style really did seem to change for the better. Less flashy, less screaming, a bit more professional and tailored, longer cuts, more muted colours. Ans she still looks very youthful in those clothes without being all over the place. As much as season 3 was a disappointment to me regarding the plot and character and lines development, I would venture that this season is the best if we talk about Emily's sartorial choices. Fantastic review as always, Justine!
Would love to see more style analysis of other shows. Can we also get an analysis of Sylvie - she’s the real style boss here!
Indeed, Emily's outfits in season 3 made me cringe far less than they did in previous seasons. It was funny to see the difference between her and her American boss, who probably deserves an outfit review of her own :D I would love to see your take on fashion in any Korean series, but that would be a rather time-consuming endeavour, so don't have the conscience to request it. Happy new year!
I would love to see the same wardrobe review of Sylvie in Emily in Paris. Love her style and elegance
Thank you for this fun analysis! I would like to see a review of the fashion in “Dix pour cent” aka “Call my Agent.”
I found season 3 wardrobe choices followed closely what's happening on the runway. There were a lot of looks straight from the latest AW22-23 that aligns with filming timelines. I adore all the Schiaparelli dresses and suits they included, Christian Siriano graphic suits, Pucci, and i think the blue swirly print dress may be by Paula Canovass Del Vas(?). It was a treat for the eyes! Patricia Field really did a great job making wardrobe play a part in the show :D
Thank you for being natural, authentic, well thought out, informative, creative and inspiring force online that never failed to deliver and never compromised the quality and the integrity. You are lovely. Merry Christmas, wishing you all the very best! XO
I’d love a review on Camilles style. Especially in season 3 she wore a neon green jacket that I found very peculiar and out of her style! Thank you for the fashion reviews, you’re always on point! Merry Christmas!❤
Please review Gossip Girl... The original show! I believe their wardrobe choices are textbook examples of classic and chic. Everything the main cast wears is as beautiful as elegant...both Blair and Sarena are incomparable. I never seen any tv show or movie that is this much beautiful.
Please do one with gilmore girls, loralai gimlore specifically. She has a very timeless fashion and even after watching the show decades after its release, it's still looks good.
Would love it if you discussed your thoughts on the wardrobes of Cher in Clueless or Elle in Legally Blonde! Great video will check out your other Emily videos too
have a lovely new year! love your content.
Your multilevel analysis of Emily in Paris was SO interesting! Loved it. Would love to see other series or movies analyzed through your professional eye!!
Ahhh I've been waiting for this video. :) Thank you for this fantastic wrap up!
you are amazing, Justine! thank you so much for doing this for us!
movie that I would like to see is Pretty Woman since it has remained as a classic and there are a lot of timeless pieces too .Happy holidays!
AMAZING! Merci, Justine!⭐💗
Sylvie’s Parisian style please! 😉 It seems very different from the videos you’ve done on French style in the past!
This was fun! Thank you and Happy New year!
Great analysis! I spent a month in Paris last October, and learned much. For one thing, the tourists outnumber the Parisian locals. The locals are easy to spot. They are the ones barley making ends meet in an expensive city, and they are wearing black, brown, creams, mostly understated clothing, but of higher quality fabrics and classic styles that don't go out of date, perhaps worn in interesting combinations to make the outfits current. I found the 20 to 40-something aged men to be the most interesting, as they sported the pencil cut pants and form fitted blazers, and looked quite current. The older men looked amazing in old clothes, but all classics paired well. Just gorgeous. As for the expensive brands and haute couture, I didn't see logos on the average person, and the crazy expensive clothing and labels being purchased were by the tourists who think this is what Paris is. Ironically, this is not Paris to me at all. The Paris I fell in love with is the food, the working people, the iconic landmarks, the walkable history....I could go on and on. For a city that is known for fashion, the stuff sold on the runway is all "the Emperor's New Clothes". Paris' iconic fashion is on it's average citizen. Although it was fun to spot the intermittent "Cookie Monster" coat (the oversized fur) on the streets when it was cold outside.
Joyeux Noel et merci, Justine! ❤
Thank you! I love seeing the fashions of the decades in old movies and shows!
Enjoyed the video, would definitely want to see more!
Love your review! Learned so much, thank you.
Yes, please do more videos like this! I love style analyses and you're doing a great job at it in my opinion!
Loved the review😀
Thank you for this Justine; I thoroughly enjoyed it
I love seeing fashion through your eyes! Thank you!
SO FUN!!! ty merry christmas
This is so fun! I love to geek out on these things! thanks for all the work and sharing with us
Love this video!! Would love to see one for Sylvie ☺️
I love how I can enjoy the outfit's analyses without watching one episode if the show, Thank you for that 💚
Excellent video! I waited for this before binge watching S3 😅
Thank you for the review! Can't wait to see more!!!
Emily's colour palette in Season 3 incorporated more warm and natural hues (lots of orange) paired with her signature darker lipstick (in a muted brown-rust hue)... and of course her signature berry when wearing her more typical cooler palette..
I loved this video and would be so happy to see more similar ones!
you really are one of my most favourite content creators, as you actually are doing really nice and thoughtful content. I have been watching your for years and it is always a pleasure, Justine to meet with you. have a happy new year!
The Marvellous Mrs Maisel - please review.
Happy holidays to you too Justine!
Also, yes I personally love your TV show fashion review, maybe you could do another one that centers in Paris too? Maybe like Lupin?
Also animation/animation shows probably would be interesting too to review
Great review! Please continue this with other series.
Such a great review as always! Thanks a lot for all the hard work you put into your videos. Merry Christmas
Great video Justine 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Happy Christmas and a great 2023 for you Justine!! Would be nice to see a review of Sylvie’s character and outfits
Loved it!!!!
Happy Christmas Justine 🎄
Absolutely love your videos! ❤
Totally enjoyed it! And yes more reviews are welcome! Really insightful and fun 😊
I enjoy videos/info like this. I watched a review of Banshees of Inisherin this morning and that reviewer spoke of the colors of the wardrobes reflecting all sorts of meanings I missed. So it is nice to have this explained and to give the viewer the reasons behind these choices.
Oh! I absolutely loved the video, how beautifully and briefly you elaborated on the subtle changes. I can only imagine the hardwork behind it. Thankyou so much! Have a merry Christmas, Justine ❣️🤗
Thank you for this. I enjoyed watching the story of the amazing Mrs Maisal , the story and the clothing the characters wore to communicate their place in the society would you say? Would you be interested in going back in time and commenting on how style and fashion reflected social and political/ economic times.
Oh, excellent idea!!
Great idea!
@@JillWhitcomb1966 Mrs Maisel is a fantasy, but such a well dressed one.
My favourite outfit of Emily's so far is the season 3 blue trouser, Breton strip top, and checked blazer. The cut is much more sophisticated, but the bright colours still represent the character.
@daisy9910
You want that blazer. Don't you?
Justine, would you please review Sylvie Grateau's outfits in Emily in Paris? I would love to see you break down why those outfits work so well and look so stylish, chic and timeless.
This was fun to watch. Merci beaucoup for such a well researched and thought out video Justine. Happy New Year!
LOVED this video
Looking forward to your next video! Hope to see more of your home renovations 😊
I love this video Def do more!
Yes please, more wardrobe reviews❤

Very interesting analysis thank you and Merry Christmas 🎄🎄🎄🎄and a fabulous New Year
This is the the other video I was looking forward to beside waiting to watch Emily in Paris Season 3. Thank you for making this video.
Yesyesyes do more of these!
Love this video. Thank you for combining three season. I haven't noticed this things watching it when seasons are introduced.
Hi Justine LOVED the video. I hope you will do a review of season three! Joyeux Noel xx
Awesome sort of behind the scenes thought process of planning wardrobe! Very thought provoking and this exercise was very enjoyable 😉
I really enjoyed this! It's always interesting to see the style evolution of a character. It seems strange, but I realize that the timeline for the three seasons is probably less than one year!
Happy New Year!
Love your perspective! For office wear, I’d love to see you review The Good Fight. Thanks!
Yes, please, more videos like this one, style evolution of characters. Even though I am in my 60s, I love watching shows that make fashion another story character, this includes the male characters as well. I love the Julien (Samuel Arnold) character's costumes - so beautiful.
Love this! I’d be interested to see you tell us about a non-French movie or show you feel accurately represents French style, and maybe contrast it with one that gets it wrong? I love how in-depth your analysis is and I feel like the compare/contrast format would be fun!
I enjoy the show, with Emily’s crazy outfits, but am looking forward to her style evolving to a more elegant, simple, French one. Thanks for your analyses, they’re fun, too! I didn’t know Season 3 was up yet, I’ll check it out.
Joyeux Noel Justine! This breakdown is sooooo interesting! Yes please to more fashion reviews of series if you feel like going down that road!!
Thank you so much for all your fabulous content… looking forward to more next year! A bientot! 🥰
I saw the notification for this video, then rushed to watch a few episodes of the new season, just so I can watch this video! Awesome video!
I enjoyed the video a lot! Please also review the wardrobe of queen's gambit!
Wow you put so much work into this
Great video! I haven't seen the show, your videos are more than enough
This was really interesting to me! I'd love to see you do more reviews like this of TV series or movies. It's a fun way to learn about fashion and style!
Have a lovely Christmas and new years Justine! Thank you for this review. I think a series of wardrobe breakdown is a really good idea. Enjoyed this 🎉
Happy holidays!
I really liked this video!!! Alot!! Thank you so much!🥰❤
Glad you liked it!!
Wow I didn’t even think of a theme with each season. Thanks for this analysis!
I was waiting for this video, thank you so much. I would love that you review Rachel Green's outfits from friends.
Very interesting and thorough analysis Justine. Thank you. I have enjoyed watching this video very much.
Fantastic. It makes more interesting to watch the series from a different perspective. Thank you, Justine.
Interesting review! I actually love her outfits with beret, I think the beret is a statement piece and can elevate the outfit
Such a great video! 👍 Thank you!
Brilliant 🪅 Happy New Year!🎉🥳🍾🥂
