My sisters 1986 was driven by her for 397,000 miles before she gave it to her father in law who added another 55,000 miles to it. When he stopped driving, he gave it to his grandson who slammed it on the ground, cut the top off and turned it into a totally custom mini truck. It went past 500K before he sold it to some random kid.

  • @ChrisVargasrpht2000chris

I like most people who love that truck. Solid reliable, workforce. I remember a standard bed Nissan base model selling for 5499 at the dealer back in the '90s. Z24 motor was the same motor used in the 240sx and some of those motors had 2 plugs per cylinder. Regular maintenance was all that was required. I always wanted the extended cab. One last thing was the wheels, we used to either use the Toyota Chrome 4 Runner rims or the aluminum pathfinder rims as replacements for the steel wheels and they would look great.

I love the Hardbody, I bought a 1990, brand new 2wd with a manual transmission. I loved it! I can’t remember how many miles it had when sold, (60 thousand maybe). Great little truck. I traded it for a used 1994 Nissan Pathfinder SE, 4x4 “full boat loaded”, with a manual transmission, (had about 190 thousand miles, when traded). I loved it too! Both were fantastic vehicles, and never had to go to the dealership for service, other than (routine maintenance). I wish I still had both of them! There are a lot of people that love old, Hardbody’s. A decent one should get good money, if you can hold out for the right buyer, who appreciates them. Unfortunately at auction you will probably only get half its worth!

I'm sitting here on a Sunday, applying decals on a corvette C6 plastic model car I'm finishing up, and Randy wins a 1989 Nissan hardbody, my very first brand new vehicle I ever bought on my own was a 1989 Nissan hardbody, standard cab, bright red with a 5 speed, a/c and a dock bumper...what a great running truck. Im super stoked to see what u do with this sweet Nissan pick up. and Randy rode a KTM in his backyard for his first ride ever...very cool brother.

I used to work at a gas station in my 20's in 1993. It was next to a Nissan dealer. Their parts chaser trucks were base hardbody flatbeds with slats. They maintained them there. Some of them had 500k and more. They drove them all over the southeast. Probably one of the best trucks ever made.

Honestly, paint it gloss black or white buy new seats and the arm rests. Tint the windows and thats 5g or more all day long to alot of people! That is one amazing find and catch to the import community. I love it i think you should keep it, slam it and put it in your collection its value is never gonna get worse only better!

I have a 1986 Hardbody that is your D21's twin. I had to pull the head to have it milled due to a blown head gasket, no major problems three years later

Congratulations! I saw it in your video yesterday. It is awesome. I love watching older vehicles finding a home. I hope you won the 2012 Malibu. I have one . Great car. The Nissan reminds me of my 2002 Chevy S10. Original owner and still own it. 77K miles . Runs great . Good luck with the Nissan. I love to see plain pick ups getting new life.

The 2.4Z rated engine in that truck was actually pretty impressive for it's time it was a 4 cylinder but it ran 8 spark plugs 2 spark plugs for cylinder That fired at the same time It was supposed to create a really strong spark and a really clean accurate burn in the cylinder
