- bonus video going over my plans for my save file in willow creek!! im really excited about all this and thought i would share my progress so far & all my plans. plus i need some input!! im still very sick but i had this all recorded and mostly edited so I thought I would post it for you all in the meantime before I can finish the next lore video :)

since public libraries offer lots of programs, you might be able to get away with building a library-style exterior and calling it a library, but using a rec center lot type! with the entrance/main area having bookshelves, study spaces, computers, etc, but having rooms branching off/upstairs that focus more on the art/music/games side of the rec center requirements. workout equipment might be harder to fit into the build but you could make it look like a separate gym on the same lot or an extension; something like that
totally!! i think i will def do a rec center and possibly style it more like a small town library build. some people have been saying rec centers can kind of look any way tho!!
the idea of the rec center being multiple buildings is interesting. i dont know if i'll do that but its a good thought since the lot across the street is that style with 2 houses on the 1 lot. thank you for the thoughts!!

9:22 we have similar awkwardly big hallways in our place, and people either put plants there or fill them with personal stuff - like old furniture, a bike or even cabinets. Sometimes it's a total mess but mostly it's well-maintained 😅

Not being the ☝️🤓 guy, but the new vs old money conflict is from the Altos and the Landgraabs in TS3! The Goths are old money as well, but more in a Addams Family way than having bad accusations way (like Nancy lol)

aw gotcha! as a kid i only got to watch ts3 let’s plays and play spin off versions on consoles since i had no computer (still LOVED) the game tho lol. but i have only played it as an adult AFTER ts4 so i am not the most familiar with the lore :,)

A rec center is a really good idea!
It would be cool to add things to do for infants - adult on lots, sometimes people forger about toddlers. So it would be nice to have things for them to do too.
yes will def be doing stuff for ALL life states :)
On the rental unit cap, idk if you're already aware, but TwistedMexi has a More Rentals mod that increases the rentals per save to 250 rental units. So if you find yourself getting close to the 100 cap and want to put more rental units in the save, you can use that mod.

A rec center is a great idea for the large lot. It can still have a library, but more of a small classroom with bookshelves, two computers and a research computer for sims heading off to college. A second small room can be for arts and crafts, with a basketball hoop or soccer area outside and at least a bathroom. Rec centers are always great for rags to riches or runaways.
i agree rec centers are super useful!! I tend to like multipurpose lots the most in this game because of the closed world. community lots, thrift & boba, rec centers, etc! a lot of people have said a rec center can look like anything architecturally so i think i will look into some reference photos :)
That large lot in Foundry Cove is Community space (garden) in my game! it’s kind of branching off the one that’s already there but it’s got a little covering with different skill activities like a handiness table, flower arranging, painting etc, also some kids & toddler play stuff, picnic tables seating, grill and maybe chess tables. it’s pretty much a park but i like that the lot type is community space because i imagine that the residents of foundry cove are pretty communal and into community ideals. there’s something for everyone and everyone can better themselves by building skills!
yeah i think a multi purpose lot is the way to go !! :)

Hi, I had an idea for the Museum to make it interesting, you could build an old fashion house that's been put under protection as historical property. Which could lead to some lore about the town but also could have some disruption, as the Landry Family see's protentional in tearing it down, while the more traditional families want to keep it as it is, as a historical property.

But i love that idea for conflict you have-- of a current building theres a bit of an argument over. thank you for this input!! i have written it down in my notes lol.

I don't know but maybe you can build a aquarium instead of a museum ? Though I don't know if you can build a aquarium in the Sims 4, also wanted to say that I love these Sims 4 rambling, lore and sharing ideas video's!!!! :D Another few ideas that I have are: a bookstore, a art studio, a school, a (farm) market, a bowling building or a ice skating building!

im unsure if you can do an aquarium. I think if sims catch fish the displays are like... mounted on a wall.. kind of dead LMAO. there are fish tank items but that would be all completely decorative... but a fun idea i might keep in the back of my pocket for another world. Maybe something trendy like a pool lot in Del Sol Valley having fish tanks because... idk that feels like something in a LA inspired world.
Your idea about a farmers market is reeeeally good!! because it could come with actual gameplay (selling table stalls). hmm ideas ideas!!
I think a dive bar that the band 'plays' at would be fun. A nightclub makes me think of djs and dancefloors, which seems more like a big city/downtown kind of thing?
yeah that makes a lot of sense! somebody had the idea for a speakeasy style- like it used to be a hidden speakeasy and now it’s more of the bar’s gimmick. i liked that idea a lot!

i also have an idea for the nightclub i think might fit the idea you’re going for with the historical strip, i saw someone else talking abt laundromats and generic lots and i thought why don’t you combine them and make a sort of speakeasy or like hole on the wall kinda place? i think it’s fitting because back then when the builidings were going up maybe clubs and bars were illegal and it was made in secret yk, i also think it could be a contrast between the open karaoke bar owned by the landrys and maybe the opposing more traditional oversee the strip and don’t approve of an openly marketed bar or nightclub, i’m really enjoying these save file videos btw! can’t wait to see more from you :))😊

I love making the Landry's (from the in-game scenario) into landlords in Chestnut Ridge lol and I also LOVE getting to hear other simmer's lore ramblings its so fun

I think the tiny house is fine, starters don't have too be anything fancy. If it starts getting too expensive furnishing , maybe go the realistic route first, of plumbing in the bathroom and kitchen, and then room labeling (cheap bed in bedroom, couch in living room etc) beyond that just so it's functional and clear what rooms are what.
i was considering that! i was thinking to myself about whether i should fully furnish the vacant homes or just do a realistic applicancez & plumbing but maybe not furnishing. if i’m honest i like the realistic route but i’m sure people will want something fully furnished to move into. hmm.
@@silleepigeon Maybe a mix of both? I've liked save files that did that. Different price ranges came with homes furnished differently.

okay only a few minutes in BUT don't worry about the exterior architecture of a rec center! where i live rec centers have been hosted in churches, old buildings, etc... usually any building not currently being used, so if you really wanted you could build a "library" on the outside but more rec center features on the inside :)
this is good to know!! i've only ever seen more contemporary rec center buildings and... suffice to say i just do not enjoy that style. a church / old building is a cute idea!! i love the idea of like.. a little brick schoolhouse too but i know theres another save file with a rec center thats a brick building in that same neighborhood.

Twisted Mexi has a mod that allows you to increase the residential rental lot limit from 100 to 250 i think!

i was thinking abt that museum lot and it’s like the perfect space for a town hall/park kind of lot! i think that would be really interesting and you could elect a sort of mayor who has an office there and things maybe??

For the community lot you’re not sure about, you could possibly do an “at home” (like put it inside a building that used to be a house kinda like the historic parts of downtowns) vets office or spa! Or you could do a park kinda thing
yes a vet or spa would be fun!! esp a vet. i’ll see where i can include it :)
for common space you could definitely have a gym for the apartment building !! that’s pretty realistic. my building has a little terrace and it would be cute to have a grill area with a picnic table so the neighbors could have potlucks/socialize :)
i ended up making these three townhomes BUT definitely want to build a whole apartment with the kind of vibe your talking about soon!!!

for the community lot near the garden: i think u should go with the rec center bc it caters more to family gameplay, and since u don’t have a gym planned for willow creek yet (tho that can change!) it would be a good place to have a wellness space.
i think the shotgun style house is really cool! i like the idea that it’s an older style starter where a family would live until they can afford a nicer place. maybe it could be a fixer-upper as well?
and willow creek is a perfect name! i also wish u could change the neighborhood descriptions… maybe there’s a mod for that?

and you can edit the world description just not the neighborhood descriptions for some reason! which doesn’t make the most sense. I’ll looking out for mods that allow you to do that- but i might be able to change it with sims4studio too. i have to look into that for sure!
Idk if I'm late or not but you could put a senior living community in the park lot. I know it's not necessarily a community lot and you mentioned that you don't do complicated lots but it could be a good idea. Thats what I did in my game. I got one off the gallery and I just made and put the parents of my most played sims to live there. And I got a "Nurse" sim to live there as well. I did it a while ago, but I think that with For Rent it could be very interesting and have the nurse own the building. Just an idea. I LOVE your videos 🥰🩷
ooo i love this idea!! i’m not sure it will fit in at this point BUT i am going to keep this in the back of my pocket for future worlds. there’s a few i think this would really suit (like oasis springs which reminds me of nevada / arizona… i feel like SO many people retire there !

A town lake might be kind of cool where the park is. There could be areas for picnics and park-related small things like BBQs, but be mostly a swimmable body of water lol just an idea! Love your gameplay soo much

Your build style is so good! If I were you I'd make the townhouses in the historical district just 3 units, each a 3 storey townhouse, and make them 2 families + 1 empty. The whole district seems pretty upmarket so tiny studio apartments could go somewhere else...
this is probably a good idea :,) they are def probably expensive anyways so it makes sense. I’ll play around with that floor plan and try and make that work !

i disagree that museums suck i think they are one of the most versatile lots. I've made historic homes from old legacies or decades as hints from my old challenges. I've done themed museums like gnomes, grilled cheese, cryptids, fashion. I've also done like crappy tourist traps as museums but also retail or cafe work. I've done zoos and aquariums as museums or parks. a fun challenge is create an empty one then have a sim make a painting design museum rooms for each painting. museums are necessary for the painting aspiration, but i feel like you can have a lot of fun with it.
these are all cool ideas!! i said in the video that i didnt know if that was bc they actually sucked or if it was bc i just didnt have any good ones (side eyeing the sims team's builds) so these are all really cool ideas

i use cc and mods so uploading them to the gallery is kind of meh. i do have downloads of a few shells up on my simblr! and i will certainly upload more in the future as well.

I think you should just do the community lot instead of a museum because I never go there myself since it lacks so much gameplay and is in general really boring. I love this series so much please keep making videos on it 🤞
i will certainly keep making videos!!! thank you for watching!! and yeah i think i agree about no museum. the more i think about it the less it even makes sense-- art museums are mainly in more urban areas anyways and willow creek is a town to me. maybe a moderately sized town, but certainly not a booming city.

i feel the same about libraries in the game but they are good for rags to riches you dont have to buy a computer. But they are useless otherwise. Im doing a private save file and im going to do a rec center/library/ community room...

for community lots the only thing i notice people lack are general lots? this sounds lame but i enjoy going to a laundromat or a junkyard with my sims! there may be no actual gameplay but it allows for great storytelling! especially graveyards; those are amazing AND functional if you have sims pass away.
graveyards is a brillant idea. I might include this in the park with the wedding chapel. My issue with general lots is just that it doesnt spawn any sims if you visit it? so i always try and class stuff like that as something else. but maybe i'll include a laundry mat as a part of another lot on the main strip! i like that too.
i don’t know if you’d rather make a video on this but i was wondering what mods/reshades you use for lighting? i love the warm feel esp for the sims portraits in live mode
i will certainly be making an in depth video on this at some point but!! i use sforlinda's CAS light 4, Sunblind by softerhaze for world lighting, NoBlu and NoGlo by Luumia. and my reshade for gameplay is a modified version of the Lithium reshade for CAS by gunthermunch. which may be a harder one to find-- i believe its in the download for the first ever release of lithium and not included in the newer version?
