  • Olga Teitelman, who was born in Kamenka in 1927 and was imprisoned in the Avdotievka labor camp together with her parents, testified how in late 1942, after completing work on the Krivoy Rog-Dnepropetrovsk road, the inmates of Avdotyevka labor camp were told by the Germans they were going to be transferred to the Liubimovka labor camp; how early in the morning they started to be taken out of the camp. Teitelman testifies how, sensing that this was a trap, her mother's cousin urged her mother to run away and how her father, who was unable to escape, also urged her mother to run away with Olga, who was then a child. Teitelman testifies how, as soon as the column of victims reached a small bridge near the camp, the guards opened fire, how, when the shooting started, she and her mother jumped under the bridge, and hid in the bushes, thus saving their lives.
