  • As Russia invades Ukraine, the West has applied pressure on Vladimir Putin by imposing sanctions against Russian billionaires known as oligarchs.
    (Subscribe: bit.ly/C4_News_Subscribe)
    These are wealthy individuals who have used their money to purchase super yachts, mega mansions and private jets. And these extravagant toys of the super-rich are only possible because of Vladimir Putin.
    But will taking away the oligarchs' money be enough to stop Putin’s war?
    Produced by Ryan Ramgobin, Ian Watkins, Kieron Bryan and Alice Anderson.

      What right has the West to confiscate private property? Answer me that? Isn't the West, supposedly, all about capitalism? About the individual's right to private property? So what right has the West to confiscate private property, I am listening. Because none of their property within Russia has been impacted at all. As a matter of fact, for years Putin has been warning Russians to return their money inside Russia, precisely because outside Russia it is at risk.

      @nomayor1 Před 2 lety

      @@Nickle314 Let's start with the latter. Russia IS all about peace: During his visit to Moscow in 2010, Putin suggested to Clinton for Russia to join NATO. The US refused. During the entire decade of 2010, Putin was traveling from one European capital to the other promoting his idea for: "A Europe united from Lisbon to Vladivostok". The EU made perfectly clear that they had no intention for such co-operation. Russia IS all about peace. It is the West who cannot accept co-operation, and rather they only expect subordination.
      Now, if Russia had confiscated private property within Russia itself, be it of Russians or foreigners, the West would have gotten a heart attack. They would be jumping up and down accusing Russia of "communist practices". Yet here they are, blatantly stealing private property and we have people like you trying to justify them.

    Russia launched a special operation in Ukraine to eliminate nationalists and fascists who are supported by the Ukrainian government. They came to power in 2014 with U.S. support. In 2014, two regions of Ukraine, Donetsk and Luhansk, opposed this government. As a result, official Ukraine fought a war with Donetsk and Luhansk for eight years. Many civilians, women and children died. On May 2, 2014, people who opposed the new government were brutally murdered in the Trade Union House in Odessa. Russia tried to negotiate peace with Ukraine (meaning the United States), but without success. And if Russia had not started a special operation now, Ukraine, supported by the United States, NATO, and Europe, would have gone to war with Russia. The U.S. needs the war to weaken Russia. The U.S. is pursuing an aggressive policy against many countries in the world. Afghanistan, Syria, Iraq, Libya, Yugoslavia. If American citizens do not force the U.S. government to remove NATO bases and biolaboratories from Russia's borders, U.S. defeat is inevitable
    Western journalists are afraid to tell the truth about what is happening in Ukraine. The editors of Western channels do not broadcast what is really happening. The editors of American channels force correspondents to lie about Donbass. Such a confession was made by journalist Patrick Lancaster. He came to Donetsk from the United States and stayed here. You are very selective in your portrayal of the history of this conflict. In 2014 it was russia that made an internal conflict an international conflict when it invaded ukraine in 2014. It broke several international trreaties doing so. The US and UK didn't intervene at the time although they were garantors of the territoral integrity of ukraine. This doesn't fit your narrative of american aggression. You are also not talking about russian involvement in keeping the conflict alive.
      You can't give a reason why western journalist are afraid to say anything about this war. At the same time we know exactly why russian journalists are afraid to tell anything that is not the exact view of the russian government.

      czcams.com/video/-K4EkyYFE9I/video.html
      In today's Ukraine, nationalist ideology is the main ideology of the state. Civilians are held hostage by local oligarchs and far-right nationalists under their control. President Zelensky is a puppet. Soviet symbols are banned; Nazi symbols are welcomed. The 2014 coup d'état took place with rallies and portraits of Bandera and Shukhevich, the perpetrators of the Volyn massacre and numerous other brutal acts of genocide against civilians. When the western regions of Ukraine were overrun by a pro-fascist nationalist government, the people of Donbass asked for the right for their region to use the Russian language and to have the authority to establish domestic laws locally.
      The protesters, who were peaceful at the time, were not spoken to. In 2014, nationalist leader Turchinov gave the order to begin combat operations using the Ukrainian army to exterminate civilians declared by the separatists.
      On May 2, 2014, nationalists drove people protesting against the new government into the Trade Union House in Odessa and burned them alive.
      A full-scale offensive on Donbass using heavy military equipment was launched. Local residents tried to stop the tank columns with their hands, but they were crushed and their towns were shelled. One of the measures against the protests was an air strike on the city administration of Luhansk. Many civilians were killed. But the authorities in Kiev announced that an air conditioner had exploded in the building.

    Existential threat means bombing Russia.
    Dropping food, water, and medicine to civilians; through jets, drones, or buses (with military escort) is NOT an existential threat to Russians. Their military is stealing the food because they're hungry; not because they're not allowed to let go of escaping civilians.. Just bring extra food (or money) up to the roofs of the buses.. (and military escort).. and do this at night, if possible and/or necessary..
    Make it happen... Please apportion some of the $100M for the feeding and evacuation of the 150,000 Mariupol civilians. I believe in Ukrainians and that the brave Ukrainian Army can pull this off...

    Is this really Vladimir Putin? I recall him on a German TV show, speaking fluent German, but years later, on a similar show in Germany, he had to use the translation! So did he die, as his wife said? And was replaced by a clone or a look a like?

    Can Russian billionaires stop multi-billionaire Putin?

    • @nomayor1
      @nomayor1 Před 2 lety

      Let's start from the later, who said that Putin is "multi-billionaire"? Oh, yes of course, the "There-are-WMDs-in-Iraq" establishment did.
      Now, why should they stop him? Let me remind you somethings:
      Putin took a country which had quite literally started disintegrating, and made it a superpower again.
      Putin took a GDP of 200 billion, and turned it into a 1,48 Trillion one.
      Putin took a country which was the world's laughing stock, and turned it into the country which kicked the entire western mafia out of Syria (and saved that country, as well).
      During Clinton's visit to Moscow in 2010, Putin suggested for Russia to join nato. The US refused.
      During the entire decade of 2010's, Putin was traveling from one European capital to the other, promoting his idea for: "A Europe united from Lisbon to Vladivostok". The EU was laughing at that.
      Putin wants the best for his country, and co-operation with the West. What is bad in that?

    • @nomayor1
      @nomayor1 Před 2 lety

      It is not complex at all. It is just that the Western media establishment will not provide you with all of the information. Here is what Putin is fighting in Russia:

    Biden (a Democrat) talking about ill-begotten gains is ludicrous. Back when Bloomberg left office (NYC Mayor), the public-employee pensions cost seven times the cost of their labor. One in 200 is the inequity between public employees and private employment when it comes to layoffs. Also, in a lifetime of work, a guy or gal might see seven depressions/recessions, but public employees are largely entitled with market-proof plans: in that, we must make them whole no matter the losses each time the market drops, and we don't even take the surplus when the portfolio allocation exceeds the overall economy. In the US, only 65-million Americans, those employed, self-employed, and employing employees in their small-business: are the free-economy: one-fifth of GNP, where as the rest are cronies, about 37-million working for 11,000+ global enterprises, and about 23-million working for government. These latter groups depend on the monopoly of violence of the federal government, for they would not be sustainable it came to individual choices in the free-economy.

    May the Mother of God, Blessed Bishop Vasyl Velychkovsky, Bishop Theodore Romzha , Bishop Nicholas Charnetsky and all Ukrainian saints, together with Jewish Holy Men and Women and the Prophets, intercede with God for an end to Putin's atrocities. May Putin and his minions be tried for war crimes and may the skies and country side be protected from further bombing. May "Thy Kingdom come, Thy Will be done and NOT Putin's kingdom and diabolical will! So sorry to hear about Kharkiv's suffering. Where is the no-fly zone? Where are the MiG-29s? Why do we allow Putin a free ride to bomb Kharkiv to smithereens? When is enough enough? We need a European alliance of countries that support each other instead of one that stands by when a neighbouring country is in real need of help.
