Hi guys! So we did a thing and reacted to SUB of My Hero since the DUB won't be available for a few weeks after these fresh episodes drop. I know we had done DUB reactions in the past, so we would love to hear from you in the comments how you feel about the switch.

the american characters were saying other characters' names in the normal format westerners say it in (given name, surname), like when how she called him Tomura Shigaraki, whereas the japanese characters would swap it around (shigaraki tomura).. cool detail

Star's flashback is a reference to the opening scene of the first movie. This also happens in the manga, making at least the first three movies canon.
I mean yeah it’s referenced in a single panel in the manga, the entire scene itself doesn’t happen in the manga just the panel showing All Mights back wearing the same jacket as seen in the movie (in fairness they brought that panel forward in the anime as it doesn’t get shown until later in the fight). Usually there is a single panel reference to the movies in the manga such as the panel that had an image of Nine from behind when showing Shigarakis memories or Deku saying All Might ordered the mid gauntlets from America; this is an obvious reference to the first movie however it does not specifically mention anything about coming from Melissa. That said they are canon however they’re just not directly lifted from the manga which is why people argue they are non canon, if you think of them as side stories or the Vigilantes spin off it’s easy to see they have always been canon they are just inconsequential to the plot.

@@Wezt334 I also believe in a recent chapter they were showing people before their TVs all over the words and kids from 2nd and 3rd movies appeared there as well. It is clear that Horikoshi is on good terms with Bines and is active when it comes to movies. For example, the end of the 2nd movie is based on his original idea for the manga's end. He changed it but he used it for the movie.
Star and Stripes muscles are natural. New Order only lets her established two rules, so to set a new rule she has to undo the old rule. Star had undo her super strength rule to put up a the giant air figure and then combined the laser into a spear to pin down Shigaraki.

Guys she’s not new to MHA, she also directed some ops/eds and some episodes in the earlier seasons but she never was the series director like this time around
So Cassie actually changes art style. When she has the strength rule imposed on herself shes drawn in a more american comic style. Meanwhile when she removes that rule from herself (such as in the Kranos scene) she is drawn instead on Hori's typical manga style

honestly i prefer sub, but to switch up on one of the last seasons when you've built this dub audience is CRAZY.
I mean mainly sub watchers still watch dub reactions. (At least I do as a sub watcher) so I'm sure the dub audience can too. Just saying
@@a_2502 For many, yes. But not if you only watch dub and the dub isn't out yet (like now.) Or have trouble keeping up with what's happening on screen while reading subtitles - then have that compounded in a reaction video where you're hearing two different languages while also reading subtitles. And lets not forget that in reactions, episodes are cut up - so you're reading broken subtitles and forced to try and remember pieces of dialogue. It can be distracting and confusing. Or worse, for those with disabilities who literally can't read subtitles. Also, some people don't watch reactions - they listen to them while they work.
There are all kinds of people out there and sub just isn't accessible to everyone.
I'm all about immersion - Even in a reaction, I want to have a level of immersion so it feels like I'm watching with them. And sub is the very opposite of immersive for me. I tried to watch sub recently... I caught up on the dubbed episodes of Mashle and thought I'd give the sub a try. I watched two episodes. And the whole time all I thought was "I can't wait to watch this in English" because I could not keep up. I am a slow reader but very attentive to details... I could either pay attention to whats happening on screen: the fight scenes and facial expressions and all the little visual things anime does (anime being a very visual medium) OR I could read the dialogue and understand what was being said... but I couldn't do both. Eventually, I started to ignore the dialogue so I could pay attention to the scenes. And I did not enjoy the experience despite loving the show.
I say dub bc it makes trying to read the subs during reactions to remember whats going on is hard asf 😂

I prefer the dub. Wish y'all stuck with the dub, especially since there is very little dub reactions out there.
But if y'all continue to do the sub, I get it. You do you. Most anime fans prefer the sub, so I bet it's better for engagement

It’s only an extra week behind than normal I don’t know why you would switch now when you’ve watched 6 seasons in dub and will still have to deal with spoilers regardless. Which you’ve already had to deal with for 6 seasons. To me this decision makes no sense and is just confusing
Hi! Our research showed that dub will be out sometime betweenMay 18 and June 1. It could be Jun 1, which would make use about a month behind.
If you found a different credible source showing it is only week behind then please do share. It should been out by now...
@@ThenormiesI don’t know where you got June from because in house dubs are never more than 2 weeks behind, unless there’s a problem behind the scenes, like a VA not being available to record or Japan being slow to send the materials. This time the dub and sub are releasing on different days which is weird and why I thought there was an extra week delay. The only reason I can think of for them to release on different days is that it’s related to Crunchyroll testing AI subtitles

Dub will pretty much always be two weeks behind sub, and I can understand the worries about spoilers. I prefer dub for you guys, but do what makes the experience best. Also since it looks like no one noticed; All Might saved Star and Stripe’s family during the prologue of the very first MHA movie. Movies are always canon in this series 👍
Spoilers aren't really an excuse when this part of the manga came out years ago.

There's a few other channels that do dub. A Goodwin TV is a good dub reactor for MHA.

For those who missed it, Star and Stripe released the order on herself when she decided to use the air figure attack and hold the lasers. At one point, you can see the steam of power flow out of her, which was when she released the "rule" on her body. Manga readers can correct me.

In the manga is easier to see the apparence changes of star n stripe while she aplies the rule to make her strong. When she is without she is still buff, but has the normal horikoshi design, when she applies the rule her style becomes more like the comics of dc and marvel

I say do what’s easiest, if you find it hard to follow while reading subtitles or if you prefer how it sounds with English voice acting go dub if you’re good with it then stay sub. You guys tend to struggle with remembering/understanding what’s going on so just do what’s easiest and most enjoyable for you
I only tend to stick with the dub because of 2 reasons
1:as you said about struggling to read the subtitles which is true because it goes by too fast
2:i grew up with dbz so the english dub has been my cup of tea
@@demonprince1990 and that’s a perfectly reasonable opinion to have it should always come down to preference rather than people having sub vs dub wars. It’s meant to be entertainment and if someone is more entertained by the sub version then that’s great and the opposite is also true.

Whether people think sub or dub is better doesn't really matter in this case, why would you build a relationship with characters over 6 seasons to switch from one to the other, also getting spoiled is pretty easy to avoid, if you can avoid manga spoilers which have been out there for a long time you can avoid anime spoilers it not as big of an issue as you might think. If someone arhues social media is their job and they're on it all the time, it may not be my job but i spend a lot of time on social media, in a lot of similar spaces being a nerd and all and have no trouble abouding spoilers

One clarification: Japan wasn't going to be upset about the United States killing a citizen of theirs (ShigAFO), they were going to be upset because the US essentially launched missiles at them xD Don't forget, this fight is happening right off the coast of Japan and there's enough force Star has parted the water and is damaging the surface of the ocean. I'm sure Japan would forgive the US for launching missiles at it provided ShigAFO dies, but most countries would expect more than a courtesy notice if their ally decided to launch intercontinental missiles at them xD;; Imagine if a European country launched missiles at a target 50km from the Eastern coast of the US without first clearing it with the government.

Honestly I prefer the dub. But then again I’m just a dub girly, so I’m a little biased😂. I really like that you guys watched in dub, because like you said you were one of the only ones who watched in dub. Luckily there are a couple others I can watch now (Ex: Blind Wave, Letts React, A Goodwin TV, etc...) But, I support your decision. I may not watch the reactions. But I hope you enjoy the rest of My Hero Academia either way. Maybe for key episodes I’ll watch or I’ll at least watch your discussions. But, honestly I’m so excited for more of My Hero too. I can’t wait for the movie to come out.

(She like Endeavor is completely unaware of All-Might’s decline until AFTER AFO wore his body down into completely unable to use OFA aside his unknown communications and muscle form) And a quirk that has literal divine intervention for a COMMAND to what she touches and god says “Bet but you’re not as strong as All-Might!” Which is…genuinely hilarious.
Also this episode is the freaking Star spangled banner in anime form. Which is…unreal. She’s so American it hurts. I genuinely feel like a German immigrant even though I’m born American next to SaS and ALL-MIGHT who is NOT AMERICAN. THAT is how American these two are. Love them SO much.

@@houseofaction Endeavor can out force her, but her quirk can outperform him pretty heftily. Not just because she has no stamina issues, but also because her light speed reaction times are just nothing short of ridiculous, and Endeavor has no real way to deal with anything she does. Endeavor is NEAR her performance but definitely couldn’t hope to do what she does. Don’t forget the majority of his battle with Shigaraki, Shigaraki straight up ignored him.

Personally, I would go for English dub because you guys have already come this far with it and it’s a pretty solid dub of the anime.

Can someone tell me where the new young justice reaction is?? At least with some other shows like harley quinn and cobra kai they said in their respective videos that their going with a new release schedule but they said no such thing about young justice and yet a new buffy reaction was posted yesterday and still no young justice reaction
There is an issue where it isn’t showing up in peoples feeds. Search it by name specifically or back track on the channel from a few weeks and you will find 3X 19.
As a dub watcher I will always prefer the dub. I myself however do watch shows subbed if they won't be available in dub for an extended period of time to avoid spoilers.

Oh! That's what's happening! I was so confused for a sec because I knew the dub wasn't out yet. I think... I vote DUB but its your reaction so if you guys really want to go SUB, then go SUB. I understand the decision - it sucks to wait for the DUB. But, it'll be a shame to lose a DUB reaction though when there are so few channels that react to DUB. And I hate to see the SUB elitism win. (SUB just isn't accessible to everyone.)
I'll always vote DUB, personally... its hard enough for me to follow SUB when I'm actually watching the thing but even harder to follow in a reaction where things are cut up, subs are too small to see, I'm trying to follow along with the show while also paying attention to the reactors, and etc. It's a far less enjoyable and immersive experience for me, personally. I only watch SUB when DUB is not an option and never going to be an option... like when main shows get dubbed but not the OVAs. Then I watch SUB because I'm a completionist. But I don't enjoy it anywhere near as much. Every few minutes I'm like... "wait, what happened? Oh wait, I missed that. Nope, I missed that entire conversation. Wait, I didn't understand any of that." I probably miss around 25% of dialogue because I can't catch the dialogue and what's happening on screen - or vice versa. Hard to enjoy and get immersed when you have to pause and rewind every few minutes. Or I'm just like, Oh well and continue without really understanding what happened or what was talked about. And thats not even going into the voice acting itself and the fact that English speakers and Japanese speakers are different in more than just that we have different words... we also use different tones, different inflections, different emotional emphases. So things just don't hit the same as they do with DUB...case in point, Solo Leveling and "ARISE." If you know, you know.
If you decide to switch back to DUB, please put DUB in the title and or thumbnail so I know to watch! I'm heading out now, don't wanna be spoiled.

This just feels off-putting since y'all have always reacted to the dub

I can't watch your reactions, the show, and read the sub on my small phone while eating during my lunch break. love you guys but this really sucks if you do sub. I like sub on my first watch but it doesn't work with reaction well.
I agree, some of us have lives and can't keep our eyes on the screen every second. I have a baby and like to watch these guys while I rock her to sleep.
idk i think all these subs and dubs only water down the true meaning of the anime. Clearly, we should all just learn Japanese and watch the show the way it was meant to be seen. 👍👍👍

I’d say I’d love if y’all continued with sub that way yall can get your reactions out faster and enjoy the season quicker. As long as you guys enjoy the sub I say continue with it. At the end of the day I care about you guy’s reaction to the story. So getting to see that sooner and at a similar pace as most other reactors sounds awesome.

Definitely prefer dub with u guys. I (personally) think since dub’s what you’ve been watching for My Hero Academia u should keep it. I think dub in general is also better for reactions imo. Also not many react to the dub, and I’ve come to rely on this channel to watch it that way. So it’s a little frustrating if u guys switch now after watching it in dub for so long…
Especially since either this or next season is likely the last.
