Road island to Colorado. How fun. Good for you. Love to see you expand you interests. Still looking forward to the videos.
Well that's exciting about your internship! I hope you have a lot of fun and learn a bunch of cool things, which I'm sure you will. About your roses being eaten, I follow a woman named Olga Carmody here on youtube who's an expert on roses, and hers sometimes get chewed on by rabbits, so she puts small wire or mesh cages around them, just bunny height, not huge ones. And yeh, if you're not planning on overwintering your dahlia tubers, I'm sure friends or family would appreciate them.
Alright, it seems to be that bunnies are causing this issue more than anything else haha. So I will have to get a fence to put around them. And thank you very much!! I’m super excited!
Sounds like a super exciting opportunity for you!
As far as your plants getting eaten, I've had to cage young, tender plants until they establish thicker, mature branches. I know that doesn't look the best, but will pay off later 😊
For sure! And I may need to do just that, especially for the next year or so. Good idea!
Congrats Joshua on your amazing internship in Colorado!!! It sounds like you are going to learn a lot more about plants so I hope you will share with us when and what you can. So very happy for you!!!
Of course!! Thank you 😁
🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 congratulations. I will miss you at Hattoys
Awe thank you!! I’ll be back there in July! 😅

I can’t wait! I’ve only had a quick layover so I can’t say I’ve really been to Colorado before
What a fantastic opportunity for you. Congratulations on your internship! 🎉

Hi Josh. Wish you the best on your 6 mos internship in CO. Have a safe, fun & adventurous journey. I’m sure your mom is going to miss you dearly… lol. I love your channel & your passion for gardening. Keep up the great work! 😊❤
Thank you very much!
Hi, I am in RI and have a groundhog that I would love to get rid of! I have had to buy hardware cloth and put it around some of the perennials and shrubs... what a job and I keep seeing him roaming around. I love wildlife, but he is nasty... About CO, sounds like a wonderful opportunity!!! Enjoy and have fun with all the new experiences!
I’m happy I’m not alone in this 😅
Congrats on your internship. Good luck and hope we get to see some of your experiences. If not, you can always do a comeback video where you can explain what you learned.
Thank you! And if that is the case, I will certainly do that!
Congratulations on your new internship. I was having the same problem this last summer where my roses would look very beautiful, but then in the morning the new growth was all destroyed. It tuned out to be Rabbits destroying them. But later I was having problems that my supertunias were being destroyed, it turned out to be deers doing it. I live in a small town, it was shocking that we had deer in town, because it never had happened before that the came into the town. It was extremely frustrating. You might be able to fence the rose bushes off, like you did the banana plants to see if would make a difference.
Thank you! And I did have these roses fenced off until about a month ago, because I was hoping to just enjoy them without seeing that around them haha. I guess we will see what happens
Congratulations 🎉🍾
Thank you very much!
so happy fr you!
Thank you so much!!
Congratulations! How exciting and what a great experience.
Thank you!!
So excited for you! If you cant film still let us know how you are doing!! Amanda in Salem MA
For sure!!
Congrats on the internship Josh!
Thanks Andrew!! I hope you guys are getting snow up there! ❄️
Groundhogs tend to go for more tender plants and more so vegetables than ornamentals. I couldn't see the cuts well, but rabbits leave a very sharp, clean cut, whereas deer and groundhogs leave more shredded tips. I have high pressure of all three, but have never had groundhogs eating shrubs or woody flowers. I've seen them decimate a wide circle of soybeans, though. Is there a groundhog den near your property?
I didn’t know about the types of cuts they make. I saw a lot of rabbits in the garden through the summer and I saw a groundhog one time in the yard. Not a den in my yard specifically, but it certainly could be just over the fence
@@JoshuasGarden In Ohio, groundhogs are considered nuisance pests and can be removed, however, rabbits are protected and can only be excluded from areas of damage. I had groundhogs under my shed that were compromising the foundation and part of the shed was collapsing into the ground. They were also the ones who were decimating the soybean field in a large radius from the den. I ended up having to remove them and moving the shed closer to the house, so future groundhogs
wouldn't find it enticing
I don’t know for sure what the laws are around here, but I guess I’d rather work around them then disturb them lol
It could be a rabbit.
