- This is one of my new favorite bands. They have great music, with really good harmonies. Their music seems like it came out of Woodstock. I really dig this band's vibe. Please comment, or subscribe. More on the way....
- Hudba
Oh boy, that drummer sure is talented. I really hope he doesn’t leave the band and have an incredible solo career
😂😂😂😂
He split and became Father John Misty, he had a hit. don't know if he ever came fack
♥️
@@vinceschauf9437 yeah that’s the joke I was making
What's so special about the drummer?
Drummers voice makes me want to move out to a cabin and live off the land. Unexpectantly beautiful.
Right on. Same.
It's Father John Misty, in case you were unaware
@@seanodonoghue116thanks!
pretty good drumming for a famous singer
The drummer's vocals are AMAZING.
little did we know....
is J. Tillman, Father John Misty
@@ferlame yes
I once saw Father John Misty live (the drummer) and he has one of the best voices I’ve ever heard live
Of course, it's Papadum Crispy.
Hard to believe they can sound this good live.
This looks and sounds like 1973.
Can you give some examples of folk music like this from the 70s? Thanks
@@ggthewhale Crosby, Stills, and Nash
@@ggthewhale Jim Croce, all of CSNY and their respective solo stuff
@@ggthewhale Steeleye span 'gaudete'
I love it!
crazy seeing mr. father john misty playing drums back there
yes!! but also erotic somehow
legend!!! 🎶🎶🎵🎤🎸🎧
+Daniella Rueda :D
nobody can resist the delights of Josh Tillman
They were too good for him. I can NOT believe he's making it as anything but a comedy routine... he's compared himself to Dylan...! Help me lord!
Damn, the part starting at 3:30 is just incredible, I can't get enough of the drummer's voice. Fantastic song overall!
The drummer is Father Jhon Misty if you want to check his solo stuff
I got good news for you buddy
This might just be blatantly obvious to fans of theirs, but is it just me or is this not one of the most 1960s/70s-in-a-modern-setting performances that you've ever seen? Also, these guys are incredible live.
I saw them live years ago in a tiny town in northern California. Best show!
Soundwise, not concertwise, I think Fitz and the Tantrums have that vibe too
@Colm m What exactly is fake about it?
I lived through that time. These guys brought me back to the 60's and 70's ... shades of "America" and "The Eagles".
Crosby Stills and Nash with Beach Boys harmonies
holy shit they're amazing live...
damn, listening to this in lockdown 2021 is making me feel melancholic
We have Jesus Christ on drums, Miles Teller on vocals, and Michael Cera on guitar
I spent a couple minutes trying to find this video just for your comment. I don't know why i laughed so hard when i first read it.
Fucking LMAO
Michael Cera hahahahahahaha
Robin totally looks like WWE's Daniel Bryan here
That's father John misty on drums. Respect
Son, he's what a great drummer is all about: feel, imagination, the ability to deliver the right thing at the right moment with precision, sing ... at the same time respecting his place in the music. Rare!
I cannot stop watching this. These talented young men are amazing. I have listened to their songs over and over. Also the music of First Aid Kit. I may be 63 but I know great music when I run across it.
Reminds me of Matthews Southern Confort - Woodstock
The more I watch this the more I realise how beautiful mistys vocals are on the drums..... That first high note he sings on the fade out 3:30...... Oh my god the clarity..... Man sounds like a bird.... Stunning
He went solo and has released four amazing albums under the name "Father John Misty" really great stuff
@@glenwertz2391 I had no idea he was in this band. How weird. I saw him in a Lana video& then watched part of his concert. Then I heard this song in a movie& looked it up....landed here. Pretty cool.
i remember watching this on a sunday in my house in wales, lying on the bed with the sunlight coming in throgh the blinds, wife and kids out and vod in hand.......and this sound came in to my life. thankyou to the foxes.
I miss the times like these, when the summers were summers and the earth and everyone looks so perfect, and fleet foxes will never get old.
Summers were summers? I don't think there is no summer anymore. 😅
I could listen this on a constant loop.
I always go back to Josh Tillman’s outro harmony. Love the FF. TIMELESS.
Their arrangements are absolutely stellar.
drummer has a strong voice. really good !
That's Josh Tillman. He's awesome man. If you aren't familiar with him, Google "Father John Misty." He left Fleet Foxes to start his own group. The guy is so original.
Thanks for listening and commenting.
drrjim actually the band took a break he didn't just up and leave misinformed unfortunately is still informed.......most of them have side projects.....
Thank you Reed.
They are back if you didn't knew!
@@vincentlo7678 but Josh Tillman went solo, but it's okay
The clip at 3:43 or so with the couple embracing was so cute and special. Really felt the mood in that moment. The flags saying PEACE give me hope for people, such a simple little thing.
I’m sitting outside my beach hut in Thailand listening to this, watching the sunset, beer in hand. Life is good sometimes.
ONE OF THE GREATEST PERFORMANCES OF ALL GLASTONBURY HISTORY
It's so soul soothing. The words seem to speak of a yearning, I understand it is not quite a happy song. But there is an acceptance, a strength, a love in it that is so healing.
I feel what you are saying.
best harmony game in the biz , this song is beautiful, epic, fleeting , foxy
Where are all the praises for Robin?! His voice is so amazing
Father John mistys groove while playing the drums is the sexiest thing I’ve ever seen! And His vocals are heavenly!
To me this song has always sent a message of freedom & love. You can't go wrong with that =)
I would love to see Josh Tillman and Fleet Foxes together one day again. Maybe at times playing each other songs together.
HAHAHAHAHA
That would sound a bit of a mess if you ask me. Maybe if they played one song at a time it could work though.
I think I may like this even more than the studio version
I love the Beach Boys type harmonies. Sweet.
Couldnt agree more Chris. Nice picking up on the beach boys influence. If you want another band that does this with their harmonizing check out Grizzly Bear, another band with Beach Boys influences. Thanks for listening. And the comment.
One of the greatest performances ever at Glastonbury. Deserved a bigger crowd still
This song reminds me of my best friend, so peaceful. Hope he is doing great in Chicago!
Carla Barrios I love that. I hope you're doing great too.
Carla B i want my best friend to remember me with this song
That drummer should really start a band of his own.
He did actually
@@wilfriedzonderman3168 🤔
Wild that this is now 11 years ago🤯
Brother, you don't need to turn me away
I was waiting down at the ancient gate
Whenever those outro harmonies start I feel like I’m listening to this for the first time again, it’s gorgeous
Crosby, Stills & Nash played their first gig @ Woodstock in the Summer of 69..aka the summer of love. When I hear this band i hear the tight harmonies that harken to CSN. Hoping to see the FF in Brussels 11/18/17.
My man broke out a melodica!!! The only melodica musician I can think of that was highly successful was Augustus Pablo. He mastered that instrument. This performance here is magnificent! Thanks for the post!
greatest song to ever exist.
good stuff. listen at 3:38 the drummer is J.Tillman who is a solo folk artist. he was with the band for a few years but he's back on his own now. look him up!! great singer.
This aged well
@@Jamie-pm7we yeah no kidding this guy beat us to fjm
Josh Tillman keep making me go back to this video for days on end
Oh god how I love fleet foxes. I love them so much because all of their music boosts my creativity so much. Every song they make manages to paint a beautiful picture or scene in my head, and thats something not every band can do
This song creeps up on me all the time. It's astonishing
Josh Tillman's voice is super good.
Father John really shines here
Fjm's harmony vocals are insane good
What a song !!! What a band !!!
Love how raw the intro is.. then the harmonic blend of instruments and voices.
Heard this for the first time at 0400hrs when on at Parliament, was sold straight away and sought out the album. Best ever
damn maaan a lot of memories here 💔🥺🥺🥺
man that drummer is really going places
God I love this band !!
Amazing song! What a feel!
We must have more harmony in our country. And of course don't stop anyone. Keep going
I'm in love with this song
This aesthetic is incredible
Great song..and the outro is superb.
That drummers wasted behind a drum kit #Multi talented
Are you joking? I can't tell if you're joking...
+Chris O'Neill That's kind of why he left, anyway.
yes im joking. Good old English sarcasm :-) . I love you Honeybear is a fantastic album. looking forward to seeing him live in October.
2019?????❤️❤️❤️❤️
This song is amazing
I genuinely didn't think this beautiful song would translate to an open-air performance, but wow! I'm glad I was wrong!
Good times back then in '09
Playin' it on repeat
Its just incredible how honest in their music they are.. Love just big love from me !
I stand at the ancient crossroads and ask for the good way. And we love our brothers and ourselves no matter what name we go by...even love some sisters fathers mother's daughters sons, and we definitely love the first creator of life and many different types of animals and nature like the sun and tazmain tigers
Still one of the best song out there
The Jesus band.
i just love this song
Phenomenal band.
The best song so far this century.
A lot of people probably know about this already, but his name is Josh Tillman and he (somewhat) recently left Fleet Foxes and started a band called Father John Misty, which he heads. Definitely worth checking out if you enjoy his vocals.
BEST LIVE SHOW I'VE SEEN IN YEARS.....!!
This song, man... this song.
Father John Misty! He's awesome!
Impressive Sound- lovin it
Amazing!!
beautiful
The door slammed loud and rose up a cloud of dust on us.
Fantástico!!!! Belíssima canção!
I couldn't point to any particular reason, but boy this song brings all kinds of feels!
Which is to say, I love this gosh dang song!
One of these days I should really check out their other music! ☺️
I thought I had heard it all till I heard this song.....
This was so awesome
They must be heavily influenced by Crosby Stills & Nash, sounds just like the Woodstock version of Wooden Ships
With a little Ohio thrown in. " Should have been done long ago".
-with strains of Jefferson Airplane in there to round it out. :D
MrTpeppers thought the same. Neil Young specifically.
I think Fleet Foxes are really a 1960s band that arrived at the wrong gig in a time machine and just went with it.
Agreed
Wow i envy the farmers. Free ticket to Glastonbury
Perfection.
The fact that they nailed this live. 😳 I mean damn.
Awesome!
Amazing harmonies
WOW!!!! THIS SONG IS FㅗㅑKING AMAZING!!!!!
Saw them with Blitzen Trapper in my tiny town. Amazing show.
La mejor banda..
Recently heard on Pandora...great song!
THEY'RE BACK!!!! I low key miss josh though
Really digging robin pecknold's edge control

Amazing, just like the record.
