Props, Hoses and a family journey

Vic and Andrew from Base Leg remind us of the importance of Service bulletins on propellers and time-life of hoses. Hartzell constant speed have overhaul requirements at 2000 hours or 8 years. Hoses should be replaced at 8 years unless teflon lined.
Vic then introduces the Smart family-Joe, Carol and Emily- and they elaborate on their RV-7A build. Emily then tells her aviation history putting her currently in the right seat of a CRJ90 for an airline.

I don’t think I would do an overhaul… Do an IRAN or reseal, but a full on overhaul where they grind the blades isn’t necessary and takes life out of the prop..any thoughts on that?

they don’t necessarily grind the blades. it depends upon condition of the blades. we’ve seen too many blade roots scored to not do an overhaul.
