Not so fun fact: the voice break when Bing Bong says “take her to the moon for me, okay?” Was real. His voice actor was crying as he delivered his last line
Why was he crying
@@lmlmtmtm3641 presumably because one, the character was supposed to be in a very emotional state at the time and two, it was his last line in the movie. Actors tend to get a bit sad on their final day on set
@@lmlmtmtm3641 also what his character stood for, as a kid you probably had a imaginary friend, a favorite toy, favorite stuffed animal something and eventually as you got older you tend to (not purposely) forget/forgot about it and you moved on, which makes the scene so sad
I like to imagine that Riley grew up to become an astronaut.
I also like to imagine that Riley grew up to become a crypto-currency scammer.
Sadness allows us to process grief, difficulty and is also where our empathy comes from. There was a lot of work put into this film. It's great. It tells us that it's okay to be sad at times. It's normal.
To add to this, as Joy realized in the movie, showing sadness is a signal to others that you need help. If you pretend everything is fine nobody will think to offer help. I remember seeing a quote online along the lines of "crying doesn't mean you're weak. Crying means that you have been too strong for too long". You have shouldered too much emotional burden without expressing that it was upsetting you along the way.

@@nonconsensualopinion stupid 😂
Joy really didn’t understand the need for Sadness being a balance. That imbalance could lead to Riley not being able to understand her emotions at all. Sadness felt suppressed by Joy just like Riley. I think that's why Sadness started acting out by touching memories.
And those core memories were actually meant to turn sad, because of the longing and homesickness. All the memories from past life were originally happy, but now veiled with sadness, because they are forever gone. So, sadness actually had a job and she needed to do it.
Bing Bong (fading): "Take her to the moon for me, okay?"
Me (definitely not crying -- _you're_ crying): "Well, now Riley has to grow up to be an astronaut. 👩🚀"
Very similar to the plot in the game "To the moon".
Nobody here is crying, Big Dream. No, nobody but I tell ya what, I there's a I suspect somebody here is chopping onions underneath all of noses! Everytime I look, they're gone. Is it you Big Dream!? I smell raw onions on your fingers!
😂
@@sammylane21 😦Stop smelling my fingers!
The worst part is that if it wasn't for Anger's recklessness, Honesty Island would stay intact, and Riley would remember Bing Bong.
@@kaizoisevil Sometimes anger can cause bad things that we can't return. Sounds very familiar to me...
The mother saying that Riley should just be happy is not a great way of dealing with grief. Riley is sad, she can't control her emotions. However she has the pressure now of staying happy. The more she keeps it in the more its gonna overflow later on. It's about learning how it's okay not to always be happy.
Yeah i don't see people talk enough about the pressure that the parents put on her to be happy all the time.
One of the most powerfully emotional movies every created. This movie doesn’t get enough praise for its amazingly powerful message and theme. Bravo, Pixar. What an important movie for children AND adults.
It’s ok to be sad. We sometimes have to cry to be happy.
Imaginary Boyfriend's line about being from Canada is a joke 😄 it's common in the States that if someone gets caught making a lie about how perfect their non-existing boyfriend/girlfriend is, their classmate will ask "why have I never seen them?" and the person panics 😳 and answers "umm they're from Canada, don't get to visit often"
That actually makes a lot of sense. I thought it was a Justin Bieber joke
Yeah, watching them react blankly to that made me realize how uniquely American that joke is 😁
I thought It was because there's a lot of canadian celebrities and there was some kind of positive stereotype about canadian kids... I was wrong lol
@@lennyanyn It could be both :)
@@IceMetalPunk I was also wondering if "train of thought" is common anywhere else. They didn't seem to catch the joke.
I still remember seeing this in the theatre and absolutely bawling at the end scene w/ Riley and her parents - at the time I was about to do grad school abroad and be away from family for the first time and I just broke when Riley started talking about being homesick b/c of how close it hit how I was feeling... still can't watch this w/o tearing up 🥺❤
I moved from Maine to Georgia at the end of my Sophomore year of high school. It was not only a huge culture shock with how different everything was, I also left all my friends behind (and I'd never been good at making them in the first place). It was ROUGH. I definitely related very much to Riley in this movie.
The more you watch this movie, the more you root for Sadness.
I love how they zoom into the cat's mind and there's no one at the controls... Yep! Pretty much explains a cat for sure! And when she bumps into the nerdy boy at the end and his "Girl! Girl! Girl!" alarm goes off, I about died. Notice the detail of the control panel getting more complicated as she gets older and how mom's mind has sadness in charge and dad's mind has anger in charge (and the bus driver has ALL angers).
Great movie.
Pixar had not one but two psychologists who specialized in emotions consult them on the movie. It feels like this movie could be an introduction for kids to how emotions work on a psychological level. Love it!
One of the best animated films ever made, a true work of art on so many levels. I'm so glad you guys reacted to this.
A lot of people say “how does Riley forget bing bong surely when someone mentions “did you ever have an imaginary friend?” Won’t she remember him? In the memories we got of her and bing bong Riley was very young so it’s not hard to imagine that she was at an age where she wouldn’t clearly remember him.
Sadness is the saource of compassion because it helps us feel sad for someone
"...Take her to the moon for me..."
No matter how many times my sister and I have seen this movie....THAT breaks the dam and we ugly cry the rest of the movie
Trivia: When Richard Kind was recording the part of Bing Bong* where he says, "Take her to the moon for me" just before fading away, he really did get emotional and that's the take they used. You can really hear it in his voice too.
* If he sounds familiar it's because he also did the voice for Molt, Hopper's little brother in "A Bug's Life".
Emotions are afflicted with what's called "crippling overspecialization" : they are experts at the emotion they embody, but they suck at ANY other emotion. When joy and sadness were shut down, Disgust, Fear and Anger's attempts to make her sound happy had terrible results : Disgust only managed to trigger a sarcastic answer, Fear made her sound anxious and insecure, and Anger made her impatient and irritated.
A very little animated movie, which I found out about by accident, but so glad I did. One of the finest animated movies ever and very emotional. A lot of memories do take on a sad quality in time, because they are memories and only memories, always reminding us of what was and can't be again. Doesn't mean we have to be sad for the rest of our lives though. It's okay to feel all of these things, only natural. Another thing is, people are more likely to listen to sadness than they are to anger. I have it on blu ray and have seen it many times. Really glad you girls saw this.
It's (partly) about how human experience is never fixed; things get recontextualized as we learn and grow. Riley's happy core memories turned sad because she didn't believe it was okay to grieve for the life she left behind-- Sadness needed to take the wheel and help Riley process the loss.
I wish this movie had existed when I was a kid. It would've made certain conversations a *lot* easier.
2:58 "Is this madness?" FYI, in (American) English, the emotion you feel when you're mad is called "anger." "Madness" actually means insanity. Yes, I know it doesn't make sense, but that's just the way it is. 🤷♂
It can actually mean both, though you're right that it's usually referring to insanity.
Im 39 and this might be my favorite animated movie. It really is genius
This is probably my favorite animated film and thanks for including it! Your reactions remind me of watching it in the theater. Keep em coming!
This is my daughter's favorite movie. She has autism and it has helped her with processing emotions and dealing with the changes that come with growing up. Great reaction!
Child psychiatrists use this movie to help kids express their emotions during their sessions. They have trouble talking about things they're just starting to learn about - complex emotions. The movie associating colours to emotions let's them simplify what they're feeling and it helps their psychiatrist talk it through with them.
When I heard the soundtrack as Sadness unloaded the memories for Riley to see I cried. That music score made me relive my old childhood days at my favorite school. I wanted to visit it and talked to a buddy of mine who went to the same school. We took a trip to there and to our dismay we saw a huge vacant lot. Oh man how that tore my heart out. But a wise thought came over me. Even though it's gone I know I can always revisit it in my memories and that school will never be forgotten. That school was the only place to make me feel accepted back then before the other schools I went to.
As bing bong faded away you can hear Richard Kind sobbing softly. Richar kind has voiced qutie a few disney cartoon characters. The grasshopper who molted his skin in "A bug's life" that was also Richard Kind.
45:15 After seeing both Joy and Sadness make a core memory, I realized that’s what makes us whole when growing up, and that’s mixed emotions. If you were trying to stay positive through the bad times, then you’re not being yourself. I’d rather live with part of my negative side than not have one at all.
Bing Bong's scene doesn't (usually) make me cry. Riley coming home and crying to her parents *always* does. Every time.
I think the scene with Bing Bong got a lot sadder for me when I became a parent and watched this again with my daughter. The scene where Joy reminisces over all of the memories of Riley when she was a baby, simple and happy, she sounds like a parent. It’s hard to watch your children deal with sadness, because it feels like your job as a parent is to keep your kids as happy as possible. But sadness is an important part of life and growing up, and it’s better to help them understand why it’s okay not to be happy all the time. The older my daughter gets, the more my memories of her as a baby turn a little blue.
"That was documentary." 😝👍 Yes! That's why it's so good; it feels so True!
38:08 Came for this part. I ugly cry every time 😭
"They gonna fly the rocket to the moon?" No, to my heart.... kills me every time
48:50 Pete Docter is the "genius" talent behind the likes of Up and Toy Story; but Docter is also responsible for Monsters Inc (2001) & Soul (2020). Maybe they’re ones for the Homies to consider, in the future?
One of my favourite filmmakers.
He even worked on an animated pre-show for a former attraction at Epcot called Cranium Command when he used to work at Walt Disney Animation Studios
Omg I love Michelle's hair, it's so gorgeous, and the colour suits her so well!
20:13 LMAO the dog on the left 🤣💀
Love your reactions ladies! you all seem to love animation movies, you should react to Over the hedge next. It is a movie about woodland animals and I think you all would like it
Please, you have to watch "Riley's first date"
It was announced at the D23 Expo that Inside Out 2 is in development. I sure can't wait to see that!
Oh, no. Puberty! 😳😨😱
@Big Dream
Lol. Cue the red alert sound effect from Star Trek.

Riley going through puberty Im assuming
I think her new emotion is love
this is by far the Pixar masterpiece ... every moment, every scene is thought out and put on the screen in a perfect way! For me the best pixar movie
I'd vote for Toy Story.
@@Talisman09 oh yes it's a good movie too...in this film, however, everything, every single detail is designed to explain the reality of things with simplicity and absolute accuracy. Looking inside out, I am always amazed by the care with which they have dealt with such important issues. in Toy story (beautiful film) the main theme was "only" friendship, although they treated it very well
its in my top 5 for Pixar. In no particular order Toy Story, Inside Out, Coco, Toy Story 3, and Finding Nemo. But so many Pixar movies are amazing.
Soul has to take the cake for me. Finding dory, finding Nemo, and toy story are also in the mix to name a few. The OG toy story was my first love-I tear up at the very beginning even just from the nostalgia.
"Wet dreams?" Jesus, Ellie, she's 11! 😂 *Thinking back to when I was 11...* Okay, fine, you have a point, but this is a family-friendly Pixar movie! 😂
Speaking of which... they are currently working on a sequel, which is supposed to be when Riley is a teenager with "new emotions"... the only new emotion I had as a teenager is not family-friendly, so I don't know how they're going to do that 😂
I knew you girls was gonna lose it when bing bing was forgotten
Some of the locations in San Francisco I recognized in this!
The sequel will deal with Riley’s emotions as a *teenager* 😮
Sadness--the most adorable pessimist.
You can't watch Inside Out without crying when Bing Bong disappears
One of these days when you guys can react to honey i shrunk the kids 1989 its on Disney plus and where the red fern grows 1974
When I was in the theater on my birthday watching the final Joy and Sadness scene, I got a phone call saying my Dad had passed away. I was already crying before the phone call. This movie is real.
46:43 that’s about as spot on as you can be. At least that’s how it was for me.
One of your best reactions! I love this movie so much. ❤
Riley is just feeling nostalgic at the end
I would love it if Pixar did an animated short using the premise of Inside Out but it was about Dory. Can you imagine the mess in poor Dory’s head? 😂
Uff, long term memory would be nothing but tumbleweeds.
I love it when u young women cry…or laugh 😊
Funny how you got the reference to Bing Bong in She-Hulk because you watched this!
I did not now how much i needed to see this movie reviewed by you guys ....
As a mental emotional who couldn’t get off the words “I love you” to his own mom everything here is executed well as long as the emotions from a younger child this movie will always a perfected rating especially out of emotionally disabled kids so thank you for spreading awareness
Hi Girls from The Homies Channel Star Wars sees the Tales of The Jedi series which is only supposed to be 6 episodes where there are other Jedi stories like Anakin and his ("y. sis." ), Count Dooku and Qui-gon Jinn relationship ship and much more to see.
It's mainly about familiarizing people with characters that people who only watched plays and movies and series didn't really understand and didn't know.
So 6 episodes = 2/1 episode per video please just try it when he sees it.
The trailer was released, but if you want to be surprised, you don't have to watch it. ;)
this movie is so cool there will be a part two
2:20 "in my head my fear is strong" same here viki... same here 😭
This is such a great movie!
This is one of the best animated films ever! 👍 For other great Pixar movies, you've already seen WALL-E and Coco... 🤔 What about Monsters Inc. (2001)?
Definitely, Monsters, Inc. For me, the best animated film of all time.
I loved the girl on the furthest right she was so emotional and like fulfilling just to watch during the reaction she really felt everything and it was refreshing
Inside out will be in our hearts ♥️ thank u the homies.
Definitely, if I were to recommend any other Pixar movie, it would be Monsters, Inc. For me, the best animated movie of all time, with one of the best scripts ever written, and the most lovable child character (Boo) I have seen in a movie.
I understood this movie all too well. I was moving around from place to place before I was old enough to understand anything about anything.
Tears, a lot of tears 😢😢😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
I have you three in my head. Amazing reaction.
They made a cute short - you can find it (it may be in bits) on youtube. Look for INSIDE OUT: RILEY'S FIRST DATE
This is my all-time favorite movie and I cannot wait for the sequel in 2024
Ellie's smile is magnificent! 🥰
Michael: The only emotions humans need is anger and confusion!
"This is how we grow up." Thanks for watching.
Losing friends,losing happy memories,losing love someone,losing happiness,losing your self
a sequel was recently announced btw.
The scream 41:40😂😂
Just for reference, they moved almost 3000 kilometers.
Jajajaja "Wet Dreams"? In a child's movie? JAJAJA
12:41
0:00 Turn on closed captions lol
Thanks for the video. I enjoyed it.
I just miss the old PIXAR
Inside Out is really a masterpiece. Pixar is like the MCU of animation
I’m gonna keep asking the question of as to why are the memories not from Riley’s POV?
Oh....I'd never actually considered that.
Anger would love SLIPKNOT. 😂
El perro finalmente se levanta y un perro se parte en dos en la película jajaja
hi homies 🤗 could u watch the 2016 'Bodyguard' ? its only one serie and its worth watching. btw i couldnt imagine ur reaction on that show, it would be crazy😯. thx☺
bro, i didn't know that the pilot of the mother's memory is brazilian. I thought it was part of the Brazilian dubbing.
Eu tbm kkk e eu achando que era a única Brasileira que assistia elas kkk
45:15 that sure looks like something. 🇺🇦
26:51 xd
Did anyone notice that Ellie proposed "wet dreams"? xd
Coming soon, Inside Out, Part 2.
Thank you for this movie. I've been waiting and wishing for someone to react to it.
Love it!! Girls, If you like this one You got to watch Soul...
"The Happytime Murders"
It seems all of you enjoyed Pixar animations - try watching 'Soul' from 2020 - it's very similar, you will love it.
i LOVE Ellie
Did you notice that Family Island 2.0 is slightly different than the original?
I hope Disney lets writers write for the folowup. They don't have a great record of it, though.
I kind of hoped that maybe we would see Sully from Monsters Inc appear and find out Riley was a slightly older "Boo".
35:27 what's moving it's in the corner😱😱
i love this movie
ITS OK BEING SAD WHEN UR 11, U MOVE AND LOST UR FRIENDS CMON GIRLS ! and feel obligated to be happy for others when u fell miserable its horrible! show ur sadness its okay! nobody fells joy all the time! life sucks! hahahahahahah remember yourselves when yure this age!
and dont forget inside out 2 is coming with her as a teenager and im really curious what they will do with the puberty hahahahahahah
Imo, I don't think cool kids at 3 o'clock judged Riley for being depressed about her memories, cause they looked at Riley with a kind of sad and sympathetic face. I think it's just what Disgust thought about them, cause everyone gets scared studying in new school the first day, and thinking new friends at school will judge them is usual.
Even the other students in her new class, especially the girls have that face.
Ellie is my spirit animal.
Everybody sees that Joy is the main character in Riley’s personality but miss that sadness is the main personality for the mother and anger is the main personality for the father. 😢
And both are hi functioning people.
When the crime starts at the five minute mark, you know it’s going to be an emotional one…
