The Thai people did their best not the least the loss of one of their diver. the Thai people the government was humble enough to welcome help and wisdom from foreign countries. Thanks though - Captain O.
      Or, as we like to say in Thai:
      คุณบ๊อบซัง
      ซันโทริไทม์
      เขาต้องการให้คุณหันหน้าไปทางกล้อง
      - พูดแค่นั้นเหรอ
      - ค่ะ หันไปทางกล้อง
      เขาจะให้ผมหันจากทางขวา
      หรือว่าหันจากทางซ้าย
      ทางขวาค่ะ
      ใส่อารมณ์ด้วย
      แค่นั้นเหรอ ดูเหมือนเขาอธิบายยาวกว่านี้
      เหมือนเพื่อนเก่าแก่และหันไปทางกล้อง
      ตกลง
      ซันโทริไทม์ โอเคนะ
      โอเค
      สำหรับช่วงสบายๆ ยกให้เป็นซันโทริไทม์
      พูดให้ช้าลงนิด
      ใส่อารมณ์อีกหน่อยได้มั้ยคะ
      ซันโทริไทม์สำหรับช่วงสบายๆ ยกให้เป็นซันโทริไทม์

      Wooosh again.
      And I thought the capitalisation should have been a dead give-away. ;-)
      Honestly, I don't begrudge your trying to be helpful, but neither should you get your knickers in a twist when occasionally some things go over your head. Sometimes you'll miss a jokey pop-culture reference, and sometimes your contributions won't be what saves the day. Hey, it happens. You win some, you lose some. Butthurt unnecessary. If in doubt, try Google. :)
      Btw., the Thai I quoted earlier is from the subtitles of the scene I was referencing. I think those were unofficial subs though, so they're prolly not very good. Just thought I'd add that little snippet for general entertainment.

    • @Amelie....
      @Amelie.... Před 6 lety +6

      There were two boys who didn't go to training that day because they were sick. The police interviewed them to learn about the plan to go into the cave after practice. The team's bikes were found locked up outside of the entrance as well as other clues like footprints.

      It was the assistant coach that went with them. The head coach had another commitment and could not go. When he didn’t hear from them by 7pm on 23rd of June, he went to the caves where he knew they were going to be. He found the bikes parked there and then called authorities as rain was pouring harder.

    does anyone mention or question the mentality or ability of the coaches to care for these young boys and take them into a cave in the monsoon season and in such a small space that the divers had to hack the stones to make a wider opening = what were they thinking

    • @speleokeir
      @speleokeir Před 6 lety +3

      As a caver myself I can only speculate, however they had been in the cave before and it is right at the start of the rainy season. Not being cavers they probably weren't aware of how quickly it could flood. From a distance I'd say they made a simple error of judgement and were a little unlucky. It happens occasionally.
      My best friend was trapped in a cave in Vietnam for a couple of days some years ago whilst on an expedition. It was a new undiscovered cave and two of them went in just to see if looked promising. After 30 mins they headed out only to find the entrance had flooded. It had been dry when they went in and had been for several days before where they were and the forecast was good. It turned out there had been a storm further up in the hills the day before and the water made it's way downstream in a flash flood. It was impossible to predict and they were unlucky. Fortunately a couple of day later the water levels dropped and they got out.

    • @ropersonline
      @ropersonline Před 6 lety

      I don't have all the information, but from what I gather the way they were extracted isn't how they came in, so they probably weren't crawling through tight spaces before they got trapped. Of course, once you're fleeing flooding, you'll scramble and squeeze through any gap that gets you to somewhere that isn't underwater.
      How exactly it all played out blow by blow is an interesting question though. There'll be plenty of opportunities for interviewers and documentary- and docudrama film-makers to tell that story in more detail once it emerges.
      I'd watch that.
      PS: A film-maker could be daring and innovative and have a solid quarter hour be audio only and pitch black until Stanton and Volanthen surface.

      Rick is actually a friend of mine. For anyone who's interested here's an interview with him about a previous Rescue he and Jason Mallinson (one of the other British cave divers) did in Mexico in 2004.
      czcams.com/video/y7o_wruWIqk/video.html
      And another with Jason about the record breaking dives he, Rick and John have done in Pozu Azul in Spain. They'd penetrated 13km in 2016, not sure if they've pushed it further since then. I've also added a video of the 2013 expedition filmed by world renowned cave diver Martyn Farr.

      Anybody with common sense & a brain would have thought twice about taking those young boys inside a cave. Seems kind of odd to me why he would do this. So now a man died because of his idiotic choice, & alot of money was spent on this rescue & how do you think this diver's family feels NOW?? But all anyone can talk about is "oh the hero's blah blah ", that coach should have known better & I hope he can live with himself. Just stupid & everyone comments about Oh how wonderful---IT SHOULDN'T HAVE HAPPENED IN THE FIRST PLACE!!! Now leave your mean comments because I DON'T CARE.....

      Duggy Dugg the boys didn't have anything to eat for 9 days (before discovery). Their body burnt all excessive fat and started burning protein (which is everything in their body). Immune system was shutting down. That's why they need to be in isolation until immune system recover.
