    Good video, I agree for the design of the Bose it would not have missed much to solidify. my insensetion in TPU helps but there is also the top part of the extension which has a 1 mm play. I did not find an effective solution without "breaking" the plastic extension to attach an additional support to it.

      I don't know Bose's reason for the design, the only thing I think is, if a person rushes into the Maui, there's going to be material breaking on the sub and the column (rod and connector).
      Bose him he will simply undo and fall but hey .. it's still the big weak point in my eyes too ...

    I bought a pair of the G3’s. I’ve also been an audio engineer for over 40 yrs & have never heard of blowing a speaker by unplugging anything. I’ve contacted the people who sold the LD’s & ask them to ask the LD rep. There again, they said the same thing. There’s more to this story of audio professionalism that failed than meets the eye with this story. Something isn’t right.
    These to me are probably the best bang for the buck.
    Bose sound great if u want to hear hi/fi sound but not a full sound. They also feed back so easily with a live mic it’s insane. The LD’s don’t.
    Low mids on the LD’s sound great & warm which is rare & not muddy. Bose have no low mids and what little of the low mids that do exist sound muddy from the bass cab..
    My top picks for Column speakers. HK Audio, LD, RCF, EV, FBT. I’m ok with Bose but way to expensive for what you get. U pay for the name.
    just saying!

      First of all thank you for watching. I really appreciate it. All I can say is what I (and 140 ish people at the venue) experienced. It was the mid event and the dance floor was packed, I was playing at about 95-100dbs (the reason I know that is my apple watch app kept warning me about the high volume is hurting my ears). The videographer who was ready to leave and "didn't want to bother me while I was mixing" decided to unplug his recording device (not sure on the make and model of this device) and when he did there was a VERY LOUD POP, the entire room looked at me and in return I looked at the videographer and said WTF! After that the same speaker this happened on was now showing a constant "Clipping" light. The other speaker was fine no issues. The next day at the event that same speaker (I know because I label my speakers) powered off after playing for only 15mins. Now it won't even power on. So are you saying this is non related to the cord being pulled out and it's a coincidence? Really??

    • @jpwpro
      @jpwpro  Před 11 měsíci

      * Also the LDs were brand new only the 3rd event.

      @lorenzohuynh1550 Před 11 měsíci

      Agreed… I’m currently using two of Bose pro 32 for home karaoke set up, yes I don’t need all that power but I do need it to look decent in my living room ( the pro 8 & 16 is just plain ugly in design ) the Bose are missing a lot of lower mid, there are plenty of mid-high and rumbling from the sub. The lower mid aren’t there with the 32 small speakers in the column.
      The feedback are notoriously to the max !!!
      I’m looking at these 28g to replace the Bose.
      Hopefully the sound will be more full range & feedback can be tame.

Dont care about the weight too much, just need overall sound improvement and aesthetics is also important, as the EV50s paintjob by now have seen better days, and i just want something new myself :) Also, will these go lower than EV50s on the bass in your opinion? thx!

    • @DjCraighowarth
      @DjCraighowarth Před 11 měsíci +1

      Don’t get the 32.
      Had 2 sets with sub 2’s. Those towers are a magnet to drunk folk and they’re expensive. Plus they don’t look as neat as the 16. I sold mine and have gone back to point source RFC’s 910’s with 4 Pyrit single 12”subs that are run as singles or doubled up for larger rooms.
      I am pining for a column array again and like the 28g3 in white as I’m mainly a wedding DJ in the UK (full time job) but like you say they’re heavy and look a bit cumbersome with the square sub. I much prefer the look of the 11’s sleekness so may go for they and get a 15” sub for bigger rooms for centre fill.
      Where everyone says these systems run out of headroom its just the bass so everyone turns up the system and then it clips early. Add an extra centre sub and roll off a little bass on the column subs and its night and day difference and get a couple more DB’s which makes a big difference.
      Being in the UK and wedding central in the Lake District our rooms are much smaller that you guys have across the pond so can probably get away with a slightly smaller set…..or ill get some cheaper black ones like the HK polar etc 😂
      I don’t know 😂😂🙈

      @ifonlyhowie Před 11 měsíci

      @@jpwpro absolutely. Like I say, I follow a few US DJ’s (you know the ones) and a lot of your rooms seem like much larger hall rooms where you really need 44g2’s and above.
      Nothing replaces the guts of point source PAs like separate tops & subs and RCF are amongst the very best.
      9 series are great but you’d really want 912s or 932’s with 15/18” subs for larger rooms.

      The LD is significantly louder than the bose.. at least directionally. LD is known for early warning clipping. Bose adds some speaker compression before the limiter hits. The LD is also has a warmer, fuller sound across the spectrum where Bose, while missing alot of midrange warmth.. has that "everywhere" sound magic that is pretty impressive and may be why the host thinks its louder as he is mixing from an angle where bose may disperse better. They are both pretty impressive.. but to say the bose is louder even if it's your "opinion" is not accurate both in specs and real world tests. I am a live performer so i may be biased when it comes to a warm, "live" full range "pa" sound. Definitely LD wins here for directional volume and full range tone, but Bose even coverage is still king in that regard. Thanks for posting your opinions.

    Common mistake for Portable Line Arrays is that they are not portable when their Line Arrays are not fitted to their Subs to carry in just one hand. If it's not portable then it's a wanna be portable Pa System. I'd rather bring my Big PA System if I want it to be louder

    You need to talk about the price.

      $1699 each for the LDs & the EV 50s & Bose 16s are $1899 each. If there was a huge difference I would discuss price but they are all with in a few hundred dollars of each other. Thank you for watching!
