  • Hey y'all! In today's vlog I got to do a walk through of a newly retrofitted 767-400! This new interior features international business class, premium plus, economy plus & economy cabins. I do apologize for the background noise in some portions of this video. I hope it isn't too distracting. I hope you like this different kind of video and find it entertaining! I'm really thankful I was able to do a walk though before this plane goes on to EWR & IAD to work European routes!

    2-2-2 in Premium Plus and 2-3-2 in Economy is really one of the most ideal seat setups. You never have to climb over more than one person to get to the aisle. And in Polaris, you already have aisle access from every seat, regardless of what widebody you're on.

    Hello. I retired a while back, started in 1984 with Continental. The B-767-400s are all CO airplanes, as a Captain I flew them, along with our -200s. AND since it is a common Type Rating the 757s. The B-757-300s are all CO also. I missed the volatility of the merger with UA, I had already been through a few previously.

    Great vlog as always! The 76 is one of my favorite aircraft. First time I flew it was in 1986. In Europe FI/Icelandair still flies them and the 75. Love that one too. Keep up the good work. Be safe!

    Love the plane!! I love aviation and never have the opportunity to get that close to aircraft like that. I have a next-door neighbor who works for Delta airlines, and was showing me pictures of a crew rest area located under the aft galley that has beds the crew can use to rest on long flights. I find it fascinating. This video was awesome. Thank you for sharing it. Take care, and safe journeys. 😊

    You've really gotten good with your vlogging skills since you started your channel, I thoroughly enjoyed getting a personal tour instead of a retrofitted 767. It looks pretty small for a wide-body jet, but I'm sure it still flies well. It also sounds like you had a good time in Austin, I haven't been there in years!

      Thank you David! It is a smaller wide body! Still very comfortable in my opinion😌

    Seeing the Premium Plus and especially the Polaris in more detail would be have been great. Of course, if the fleet won't be done until May of 2024, i'll likely not see a refitted one for my flight in November to Barcelona. Hey...you did a WONDERFUL job on this when there are soooo many vids out there questioning the longevity of this 767 being doomed. How on earth you have only 2.5K subs is quite shocking. Keep up the good work!

    One of my friends flew for your airline and was lucky to be assigned as FO on the Boeing 767 out of Newark as his first aircraft at your airline! Another thing is that I used to live 2 hours east of Houston and would fly on Continental Airlines with my family for most of our trips! Great video as usual!

    The polaris class is not very convenient when traveling with someone else or as a family. They should’ve kept 1-2-1 configuration

    which seat is best in the Premium Plus? Right now we are in row 21 but I was thinking of changing to 20 because of the leg room. Where is the TV?? Is it worth changing?

    • @malloryatthemoment
      @malloryatthemoment  Před rokem

      If you are in the bulkhead your TV will come out of the arm rest. You’ll have to stow it for take off and landing which can be annoying. Also I don’t care for the bulkhead because then you can’t have your personal item under a seat in front of you until cruising. Unless you are extremely tall I feel the leg room in 21 is plenty. I’m 5’8”.

    I'm flying on two 767-400ERs for my flights to and from Madrid in June. Should I upgrade to business class and expect the retrofitted seats? The seat map still shows the old configuration for my trips and I'm hesitant to upgrade to get the old fashioned lay flat seat.

    • @malloryatthemoment
      @malloryatthemoment  Před rokem

      I think you should go based off the seat map you see now. There's always a chance of last minute aircraft swaps but I would hate to advise you to upgrade and be disappointed with the older configuration.

    Do only the first row in PP have the leg supports for the back of the legs?

    • @malloryatthemoment
      @malloryatthemoment  Před 11 měsíci

      All rows in PP have foot rests. In the bulk head they come from under your seat, in the rest of the rows they come from under the seat in front of you I think.

    When you were sitting and messing with the seat back screen I noticed the row in front didn’t have screens, are they located somewhere else and not on the wall?

    • @malloryatthemoment
      @malloryatthemoment  Před rokem

      Bulk head screenS are sometimes located in the arm rest and can be pulled out after take off!

  • @Blank00

    I will miss the Continental blue sidewalls and bulkheads, but hopefully the mood-lighting will make up for UA's new generically white cabin, their new cabin seems like it's meant to pair with moodlighting

    • @malloryatthemoment
      @malloryatthemoment  Před rokem +1

      I was too distracted looking at everything else to mess with the lights, but all of our new 737s have mood lighting so I bet these will too! (I hope)

    Hi! I've got a question for you. I read that by late spring every plane will be refurbished. I want to book now for a trip in july, but the old seat map is still shown. Should I wait to book? The seats I would book now are toward the front where the new premium purple seats are. Ideally I'd like a premium economy seat. What do you think?

    • @malloryatthemoment
      @malloryatthemoment  Před rokem +1

      I would wait to book or call customer service. Also where are you flying from? These planes will be used mostly out of IAD & EWR.

      @Malloryatthemoment flying round trip, IAD to DUB. I'm wondering what would happen if I bought 4 tickets in row 18 right now and then row 18 doesn't exist in the new setup. Would they offer me the purple seats or simply cancel my reservation?

    is 1A marked off for Captain rest as well? The curtain normally resides in a cabinet just in front of the seat?

    • @malloryatthemoment
      @malloryatthemoment  Před rokem +1

      Yes I believe 1A is designated for pilot crew rest. I didn't see a curtain. It's possible it hasn't been installed or maybe its not necessary since 1A is pretty private.

    • @kennethfeld6639
      @kennethfeld6639 Před rokem +1

      @@malloryatthemoment The curtain on the 767-300 tucks completely into a skinny closet so unless you know to look for the tracks (they follow the lines of the overhead bins well to camouflage) or open the closet you would never know.
      I have never seen the Premium Plus cabin - they look like the same seats ANA uses - they are REALLY comfortable for 4-8 hours - especially day trips - probably wouldn't want to sleep in them if I could avoid it.

    This plane is going to retire soon. Why they wasted money?

  • @joedi6339
    @joedi6339 Před 11 měsíci

    Instead of retofitting the cabins of 30 year old jets that money should have invested 15 years ago to buy new modern jets. Compared to European Airlines who have a younger fleet most US carrier have old aircrafts. I prefer a young fleet.
