Well, that way I see a better chance for players to shoot even more gold. As well as the HESH ammunition we have to modnahtni also shatter.

for now he are too op on some tanks its stupid when u are playing for example tank who have good armor on turet and something like 60tp or e100 load he and do 300 to u every time no matter what also on tier 10 games literaly every game must be at least 1 fridge and he also do always somethink about 600 700 dmg to u no matter what he rebalance its something what i want to see
PLS also make sure that if you absorb an entire he shell, it counts as damage block because it does 0 thanks to the armor.

For some tank in a hull-down position, not even gold can pen it.

KV-2 will butcher low tiers as it does now, as it penetrates them.
It will just ensure that you will pay for trolling tier Vs and IVs by VIIs and VIIIs doing the same to you.
To be honest, 107mm could get a beefy DPM buff, so that the two guns are in balance and not "107mm => T-150, 152mm => KV-2" we have now.

They are referring to the 705A cupola, which obviously doesn't exist.
Thats the thing, hts with strong turret now will be able to play hulldown and wont get spammed by HE kings at jp e100.

Shooting well sloped sections of chieftain armor without much nominal armor thickness will not really change, the biggest buff will be for dusty German heavies with flat armor.

Edit: After sone extensive testing i can now say that this rebalance is the biggest pile of hot garbage i've ever seen. And why are they trying to "rebalance" a round thats waaaaaaaaay more balanced than another round anyway? Like fix premium ammo first e.e

They've been saying it since 2014 to string old players along. It's never going to happen. They are going to keep a "pay more to pen more" mechanic for as long as it is profitable.

So essentially WG will keep buffing the hull down Russian tanks, until nobody plays anything else, seeing as this change will be a huge buff to them. It will also take the obj279e from being very very hard to kill to nigh impossible. Not exactly improving balance here are we.

While I agree the 279e has retarded broken armor. It’s not impossible to kill not even close.
Granted killing tanks by spamming HE is rather silly, and something practiced mostly by stupid people, that have not understood the concept of aiming. However I don't see WG adding weakspots to any of the hull-down monsters in the near future, or are you in possession of insider information that they are going to nerf essentially all the Russian heavies? So until such time that they do that, this will make sitting hull-down just holding, even better than it already is. Which does not exactly promote "fun" gameplay. It also skews the already lackluster matchmaker, since this will further increase the value of the armor-heavy heavies, and thus relatively lessen the value of "support"-heavies, you know that type of heavy that is quite common outside the Russian tech-tree. Should this change go through, there is even less incentive for an armor-heavy to move, and no feasible way for the opposition to force them to. You can be pretty sure the arty re-work will not improve their already lackluster capacity to do so, and seeing as they already nerfed one of the few tanks that could force such tanks to move (the Type 5 heavy) into the ground, that is also no longer available. What remains are mostly TDs with large caliber guns, that are not nearly armored enough to hold up for any length of engagement with a proper heavy, and that will then now do mediocre damage at best anyway with their HE. But I guess if people enjoy sitting hull down bouncing shells off each others turrets, then they will be very happy.
@@MakMak02 Adding thing that dont have any reasonable weakspot for 255 mm AP pen should not be a thing, and that is 279 E. And dont talk about small cupols, who have time to aim at them, if you get hit in face with 340 heat. And Is 7 for exampke have 301 apcr, which is not a lot to pen that monster.

no more shooting below the tank :(, gonna have to test this but as from first glance I feel like both mechanics could work together in some way
it was fun yes but there are incidences where people just splash HE round corners not even hitting the tank but A. dealing more damage than they should and B. not even hitting the tank. For a few tanks it makes sense yes but at points it is very frustrating to play against. Say a 60TP in ranked just spamming HE round corners not even hitting but still dealing between 200-300 dmg

@@jwj8444 sure you can enjoy it. But in some situations (especially ranked) HE has just too high of a RNG factor, I think that for me is an issue.
Wargaming has brought us to a point where they made so many bad and game breaking decisions that now the community cant help but be sceptical about anything new that will be implemented.
Forget the Japanese tech tree...
and the E100 and the FV4005.

Lots of nominal armor thickness with little sloping and lots of exposed roofs - in the past vulnerable to HE, after the rebalance only matched by Germans in resistance to them!

@@radonsider9692 Strongly disagree. WT's grind is less painful than the WOT grind by far. Comparing tanks, WT's MM is like +/-1 for *every* tank, tech tree or not. A Pershing will never see the Maus in WT, but it will in WOT. What does it hope to be able to do? Premiums are frequently rebalanced in terms of performance, battle rating. Thanks to no B.S. Hitpoint system, even the aforementioned pershing can kill and disable a maus in 1-2 shots from the side, as opposed to the (looking it up roughly) 12 SHOTS??? in WOT. You can even take tier 1 trucks and reliably kill modern MBTs thanks to this. I've personally one shot an M1 Abrams by putting a 50mm panzer's shell through the turret ring, because at least if my skill with aiming is good enough, RNG isn't going to punch me in the face. Ammunition is already balanced as physics dictates an APCR round will do less post pen damage than APHE.
My biggest points would be: You can grind the main tech trees by using premiums, and/or you can premium-ify *any* main tech tree tank you want, and you can grind the entire rest of the tech tree using it! I've met guys who only ever loved one particular vehicle or tier, and ground out entire nations because they didn't feel like playing anything higher. You have zero choice in WOT to grind higher things by playing the tanks you want unless you convert xp by throwing your bank account at wargaming. To put it into perspective, if I wanted to premiumify something like the T-90 for whatever reason, I could do so on sale for less than $7.

Russians with tons of slopes and few cupolas with thin roofs near will barely get stronger.
It's the Type 5 Heavy that will get strongly beefed up now, because it has tons of exposed roofs to HE shrapnel from shot cupolas, little sloping, and lots of actual armor thickness.
And don't forget you have 14cm gun option!

If you are shooting HE to those 2 tanks you are doing something horribly wrong pal, i have both of them, IMO 279e is only OP against tier 8 tanks and Chief is OP only in hulldown positions but penetretable by tier 8 tanks in the hull also the thing is strong(good) players have them and to be honest they are well deserved rewards.

It's the poor, rusty Axis superheavies that will get some fresh blood in.
You lost players by tens of thousands in 2019 to 2020 (new accounts felt from 70k to 10k) prepare to lose players (f2p) by hundreds of thousands with this patch.

@@hendider876.4 certain tanks are made for hulldown situations and being smart enough to use that to your advantage will reward you and it forces people to TRY and be creative in their strats to outflank those hull down tank knowing that their hull armour might be weaker than their turret armour. Nobody is entiled to be able to pen a tank regardless how they're positioned. People who use their armour smartly should be rewarded.
True, but there are to many hulldown meta tanks in the game right now. I hope they won't add many more of them.

Barely. They have lots of slope that protects hull roof from splash.
It's the German heavies that will feel it the most.
Also, EBRs will be more shot at with HE with effect, and at the same time less effective against armor with their own HE.

They will indirectly buff the Chieftain and 279e into oblivion. Those things cannot be dealt with frontally in most cases, especially if they're side scraping or in hulldown position (practically no or really hard to hit weakspots on their turret). The only way now is to spam HE at them. I really hope they won't implement this mechanic.
But its not the problem of the mechanic, actually the new HE logic is more realistic, those tanks are just hilarious.
...Or they could nerf those tanks because they are special tanks, not premium tanks. (But if they do that to the Chieftain, clan tryharders will cry :'( and those who got the 279e will feel betrayed so wargaming might not do that unfortunatly)

shooting HE into chieftain and 279e is already bad option, because usually they spam gold, so you do 200 to 300 with every hit and they roll 400 to 500, you are just stupid if you spam HE into them...

Start by killing other tanks, then use teamplay to flank it and/or hit it's back. OFC this could succeed only if your team achieved a better teamplay than the opposite...
This is true for every heavily armored tank you're facing and can't penetrate...

The biggest strength of Object is lack of lower plate, not monster turret or monster gun.
IS-7 has a way better turret with no weakspots there whatsoever and it's no meta.

WG you are so silly!! HE = High Explosive.... Which part of Explosive didnt WG got the memo? Just decrease the damage of the explosion and stop killing modules and crew inside when the shell doesnt penetrate.... is this so hard?? and by the way, did they decrese the damage on arty? yeah so if a shell doesnt penetrate now fired by a tank does little damage making OP tanks like the Chieftain even more OP... What about the artys? are they still going to do 400-700 damage with splash and non penetrating hits?

Some "reality"will be missing if this feature will come to life and player skill will not count. I'm voting against that.
I don't like these changes I think that heavy tanks in positions where neither can pen each other should be able to do reasonable amount of damage and currently they are sometimes the only way to end fights, and making that take longer by reducing the amount of damage they do to thick armour is a bad idea they allready don't do as much as AP and I don't know he was making these complaints anyway.
I'm glad they still let HE be able to pen stuff, I hope WG actually implement this change. They only nerft the ammount of damage when HE does not pen. Having 60tp blap you for 400-600 without even aiming with HE is not goood.
I agree, as someone who enjoys playing the 60TP it is both annoying and sad to see HE only players on it. Honestly playing like that limits its potential. I always try to avoid HE on it and carry only 8 rounds of it.
P. S. I think that you exagarated the HE nonpen damage a bit... 600 is way to much, more like 470-500 max and still not against hulldown peekers.
It is hard to play 60tp with no hesh because of the bad gun handling and bad armour. You don't have much time to aim in 60tp. Plus you have shitty reload
But having OPtain or OP object(e) and spamming PREMIUM pay to win ammo its okay? They should rebalance premium ammo.

@@sorinancuta3934 Not every ammo is equal!? That his problem. 279 E heat have 340 pen, Obj 705A have 315, IS 7 301 apcr. That make a difference, in pen or no pen.
They should make gold ammo like apcr do less damage
SU-100Y is a good example. It's gold ammo does more damage but less penetration. They should implement this to all vehicles where if the penetration increases less damage or more damage less penetration.
The problem is that it would buff all heavily armored tanks, making the obj279e and the cheiftan even stronger. I like the idea to limit gold spam, but we dont need to make op tanks even more op :/

Good idea imo but it cant happen until tanks get propper weakspots. Tanks such as the 279e, chieftan, obj277 etc will just get even stronger in hull down positions. Give us weakspots we can pen with 230mm pen and sure, id love the change.
You penned the AMX's tracks from the FRONT with HE? So you basically negated armor and dealt more damage by penetrating multiple layers of steel outside the main hull? I'll have whatever your smoking pls ty
Look at the armor model of 50B somewhere, there is an armor plate above the tracks that goes lower to the back of the tank, so if you shoot top of the track, you will hit that
Hi, i would like to ask you something because it's not clear for me, what happens if we hit the enemy tank with HE and with the new mechanics in different angles? Has the angle any affect on dmg and penetration or it doesn't matter, only armor thickness is important?
Love how they make it so HE shells penetrate the adamantium wheels of the wheelies. Thats effectively a huge nerf to the EBRs.
Oh yes! Once i shoot HE on lynx with foch 155 and i did 0 dmg cos i hit the wheel. That was a really sad moment... but soon never happen again xd
Its really not a nerf. I have nearly 1000 battles in my EBR 105, and can tell you that its pretty rare that someone even hits me with and HE round(because of their slow shell velocity), and when the do frankly I'd rather it pen and just suck up the damage than have it not pen and destroy my entire side of wheels. Biggest thing that causes no-damage shots on my wheels is idiots shooting AP and APCR under the tank.
Not really cuz and ebr can auto aim even if there are objects around him.. try to use your brain, I know that you are probably a 50 wr player but try to turn your brain ON
@@windowsxpwallpaper5851 Then either you are an exceptionally good shot or EBRs are dumb enough to drive at point blank in front of a loaded ISU. Either way, I suppose it depends on how stupid the EBRs are and how good the enemy is at shooting when considering it a nerf or not.

It is not a terrible change, but I think that some aspects of the splash damage sphere should be retained - like damaging the external modules - viewports, guns, tracks. Perhaps dealing with especially thin armour? Something to avoid going from one logic gap to another.
I am a little bit confused, under the HE sandbox changes, does armor angle has any influence or this shells have any kind of normalization? if an 183mm shell hits an UDES at an extreme angle the shell will: penetrate, bounce, or cause non penetrating dmg?

In this game, we have seen updates where tanks roll over directly when you press (A) or (D) while going full throttle. I wouldn't be surprised if the WG did a flying TANK. They gathered the developers of the physics engines IN ITOPIA, and they working it for $1 an hour. "To the essence, how to end a game in 10 years? That's it!" we can say :)

If the HE shell comes through over tracks (and ofc no damage) and there's other tank behind / beside that tank, will the other tank beside / behind him receive the damage that comes through over the tracks?
and what you doing with extra super armor tanks how will penetrate frontal ?

Why not use this mechanics for hesh? I really don't see the problem with current HE and from what i played on the sandbox it messes up balance and gameplay badly. But i wouldn't mind having this to differentiate hesh from HE.

Tanks with slopes will get only a slight buff.
Tanks with flat armor, all of the German thicc bricc tanks will get the biggest share of buffing.
Can somebody explain why at 9:30 the shot does full damage even though the hull is not touched? Only the track has been hit and there won't be any contact with the hull there. Am I missing something?
Are you telling me, that if I hit some tank's armor with HE and other tank stands enough close to reach the burst radius of the shell, it won't deal any damage what so ever to the other tank?? If this is correct, than no bombardier for non-artilerry tanks anymore, honor to those who had the opportunity to earn this reward.

So, um... you'll only cause damage to enemy tanks by hitting the armor directly to generate spalling then? So it's no longer possible to damage a tank by aiming under it, since the splash isn't looking for armor in its radius to affect?
Edit: Or in the case that the HE shell penetrates the armor, we'll still see it do full damage?
So that means there will be no splash dmg? Bcs if I hit the land next to the vehicle, the he fragments will dont hit any armour. So i cannot get bombardeer( except from arty)

I'm also wishing that all guns designed for indirect fire (as all howitzers are IRL) could use SPG vertical aiming type instead of usual zoom aiming, regardless of the vehicule type they are mounted on. Easy work for coders I guess...
Harder to do : HE shell blast could affect steering of a tank on the move, and even blast it away or turn it to it's side if caliber is heavy enough. This would be a very dynamic and funny addition to gameplay (as well as giving back a bit of interest to super-heavy-super-slow-super-boring-tanks)...

It would be nice to have battle hits as standard in sandbox server and game. If we want to see where our HE hits and to compare with what happened before

But apart from that: if you miss the tank you never do any damage? so no more hitting 2 vehicles at the same time? or hitting the floor and still doing some damage? Will arties again work completely differently than other tanks?
And if you hit the track you do full damage? Do the tracks not absorb anything? Is HEAT going to be worse than HE?
To say the least I'm quite skeptical about those changes...
1. Artilery will be rebalanced on its own (they said it around the end).

To do damage when shoting tracks you need to pen them, then the shell either explodes if it can't pen the hull and does some damage or pens the hull and does full damage (if you can't pen the tracks you do 0 damage, if you can then they lower the penetration of the shell before it hits the hull resulting in nonpen damage or pen damage.
3. HEAT worse than HE?.... Excuse me? Those are 2 different shell types designed to do 2 different things! It's like trying to compare a dagger and a baseball bat.
4. When it comes to splashing 2 tanks at once, They don't explain it here, but I think it is going to stay. How it is going to work? I don't know.
From what I understand WG is trying to make the HE more predictible and fair to use and play against. Also it is going to be a tiny touch more realistic now.

2+3. Yes, but HEAT gets completely absorbed by spaced armor (including tracks). HE from what it sounds here passes through completely and then act like it never hit the tracks.

When will people finally understand that hull down position is supposed to be superior? What's the point of going hull down if I'm going to get hit for 300-400 dmg by HE anyway?
Wow, Im actually surprised that WG actually trying to think about the cahnges and the complaints. It now sounds much better. May you could add to the calculations whether it hits armor or terrain, so it still deal some dmg if someone shoot underneath a tank with high caliber.
Overall, for the first look, I feel like it can be the right direction.
I will test this whith hetzer and kv2 after some battles i will decide if i like it or not

These HE nerfs would be unnecessary if super OP premium tanks had weak spots that could be penetrated via AP. Tanks like the Defender are hardly penetrated- and people would rather use HE than Gold.

I am for once actually quite satisfied with Wargaming changing mechanics. Derp tanks will still be able to derp and spaced armor actually works against HE now. The only thing I would like to know is if HE still damages tracks when they hit the ground nearby.
Quick baby played today with derp guns at test server. It's death for derp gun ITS OVER.

In the game Hesh has the same mechanics as normal HE. New HE mechanics are different from the Heat mechanics
Well it would definitely fix the game a little more. my only concern is how much would it actually effect the kv-2
I've got idea: makes HE shell count as 2 AP shells => if you would had full HE, you would had 50% less ammo than someone with full AP
so it behaves like a normal non penetrating AP / HESH round would behave?
