I was in that era from1976 and mid-1980s, it was one of the best moments and Kathmandu was very different it was a real Shangrila. This was the time when rock and blues songs and music were at their peak times. When Cat Steven, Keith Richard from Rolling Stone, Bob Seeger. The rumor was that Jimi Hendrix also visited Nepal in 1967. Thanks for the video it took me back to my young teens following the rock, folk, and blues songs along with the Hippie they were the ones who brought fresh new song cassettes to Nepal.

One of my friends, a student of anthropology, named Linas Tavaras, from Lithuania, has come to Kathmandu to study "the Hippies, Hippie Culture, and Hippie Trail" for the last year. Before coming to Kathmandu, he stayed and studied in India during the COVID period. I, with him, took different interviews with the people like Dev Rana (the legendary drummer), Ram Krishna Manandhar (the owner of the Snowman cafe since 1965), Satish Sthapit (the frontman of the band The Newaz) about his research project "The Legacy of Hippie Trail in Nepal. Ethnography of Memories". I am also a student of anthropology, currently teaching anthropology at Tri-Chandra Multiple Campus, got to know more about Hippies, Hippie Time, and Hippie Trail. Unlike other countries in the hippy trail, Nepal and Nepalis gave the hippies the Nirvana they desired; too bad that things got out of control. Interesting and comprehensive look into the era when I was growing up.
