Not gonna lie, I expected the shimmers to be more impactful. I thought they were gonna be indie level sparkly and wet. You still came up with a gorgeous look but I’m just not paying $120 Australian for a neutral palette with basic shimmer. But for those that can pay that much, it’s a cute every day neutral palette. In person it is, doesn't translate that well on camera. I don't buy indie so I can't compare to that.
I’m so thankful for the comparisons! I can’t be spending $68 for an eyeshadow palette where I already own all of those shades. If it were closer to $40, I might think about it

There’s a lot of fall out, just be aware as a bride. You could use a glitter glue.

You made such a beautiful look, Morgan! I love all the dupes you found. I almost bought it when it first became available but I controlled myself lol. The shimmers are really special and pretty with this one. I was thinking of getting the master crystal reflector in the shade Quartz. I feel like that has a similar vibe to get the sparkle. I’m still thinking about it though. I’m just a VIB member so I better makeup my mind fast since I haven’t placed an order yet. This video was really helpful so thank you. I love this palette! You can build up these shades, which I think is great and wasn’t really shown in the video. It’s makes it great for beginners but also they blend like a dream with this type of quality to the shadows. Instead of just one pass you can add more of the same color and you’ll get a stronger shade and then you’ll see that you can create a lot with this palette.

It's interesting, the gleam formula really reminds me of the Moondust shadows from Urban Decay. Those also give that wet look on the eyes and come in so many great colors too!
This was an incredibly thorough review and SO incredibly helpful in deciding I think I’ll take a pass. I saw the palette in person today and I’m trying to limit myself to palettes that I KNOW I’ll reach for and not have to force myself. See it’s funny I’m not a fan of the Colourpop formula, but I loved the Bare Necessities color story when it came out so I feel even more persuaded to pick up the Makeup by Mario 😂

I love Colourpop formula they’re the best drugstore brand eyeshadow formula wise for me personally I’ve never purchased any high end eyeshadow palette especially on the neutral spectrum cuz any drugstore brand can produce decent or really great neutral eyeshadows so I don’t justify spending a lot of money on expensive neutrals palettes
@@markusfeindt yeah I agree, quality size drugstore brands are definitely good enough. However high end/luxury makeup is also about the experience. That's the most difference that I can feel personally. It's more of a splurge rather than practicality

I have colourpop going coconuts and many others I definitely think I can achieve the look with but I'm just eager to check out this high end formula. I don't think I have tried the Mario brand....

My neutral one I have is the Biba
this palette, based on the swatches, give me Korean inspired looks kinda. They're not SUPER pigmented but meant for softer looks with some natural "eyeliner" shades. The glitter as well with that wet look but nice glitter.

I have the Going Coconuts and Bare Necessities by Colourpop. Thank you for helping me to decide, this is a pass just a because yes the formulas might be great but not at that price.
I ordered it but havnt recieved it however, I was in store today and swatched the entire palette and I was really impressed! I prefer the mattes in this one vs his first matte palette. Those shadows were a little harder pressed

I pulled the trigger and ordered mine without waiting for reviews and I'm so excited for it to arrive now after seeing your and Parry Alonso's reviews. Phew, even with the Rouge discount that could have been a pricey mistake 😅
I swatched the palette in store and I definitely don't think we needed THREE out of twelve shades to be toppers. One would have been plenty. It only has two metallics. It needed more. And I totally agree that it could have had an even deeper matte dark brown or black shade.
Toppers are very trendy these days. I think many ppl thinks standard metallics are a bit dated. Patrick Ta built his whole brand on this wet-look aesthetic, ND, PML and Huda are all doing more sparkly, translucent shades.
One topper would have been enough for me, plus a really rich black-brown matte like Morgan had mentioned. Then, I would have been chomping at the bit to get this.

I think toppers are much better than metallics. They will give the same effect but you can customize the shade by whatever you put under it.
@@CherryJuli Same. Especially for the current simple, natural makeup trend. A wet looking sparkly but light/translucent lid is my favorite. I feel like it balances the low coverage, glowy skin and glossy lip. A pigmented colorful eye look feels out of balance with that.

Minus the light pink shade this pallet also reminds me of colour pop going coconuts. The arm swatches in the pic look a lot like Mario pallet. I am also super interested in the coulourpop trouble maker pallet it looks soooo pretty!
They remind me of a lot of the shades in Tartelette Full Bloom eyeshadow palette. A lot of the shimmers have that silvery slick metal background in the eyeshadow.
Great review, I have been waiting for this!!!! Im not sure whether to get it tho...I'm not really into super sparkly metallics. I prefer them to be a little understated. Between this and natasha denona glam palette (even tho you said its not really a dupe), which one do you feel is more sparkly?

When I first saw this palette I thought of the Tarte Juicy palette, the big one with pink packaging. This Mario palette looks really nice though, very everyday and work appropriate. I’m considering picking it up and it’s great you love the formula!
Tara Lynn did a comparison to Juicy. I have both. It's very similar in color but the shimmers are diff.

Great review. I wish he had put in a brown/black and another really deep color, for liner and to add the possibility of a deep smoky eye for night. A really dark Plum/brown maybe? But a nude palette with this many colors should be able to do your whole eye. Thanks for the video!💚

I don’t have any of the dupes except going coconut 🥥 by colourpop … But it’s MBMario & I like his esthetic when it comes to make-up …it’s my style so definitely I had to pick up & I’ll just use it with his Mastee Mattes which I use that pallet with all my other pallets … those browns are just perfect. I love Mario’s makeup! I think he is a master at what he does and takes his time to perfect every product he makes, so it’s all dependent on each consumer on what is important to them, some people pay over hundreds of dollars for pat mcgrath and Danessa myrick, beauty is in the eye of the beholder
