Thanks for this! Downloading right now! :) -- Update: 10-minutes later... OMG this is fantastic. It's perfect for having a Surface Pro without a keyboard attached alongside my desktop. Love it.
@@muslimbibliophile1916 A year late but yes, with logitech flow, but it's only compatible with the mx series of logitech as far as I know (also the keyboard)
Here's Microsoft, years late to the party as usual. This has been available by others for more than 20 years. I have an ancient one (Synergy) that allows me to control screens crossing Windows, Linux, Android, iOS and MacOS. It would be really cool if MWB could do THAT!
@@tagi3d You see? Sometimes its like Microsoft keeps its best features hidden. They don't seem to emphasize their features enough! I was using Office for like 15 years before I found OneNote, which IMO is the best free-form note keeping program ever.
Had my Surface Book 3 upgraded to a Surface Laptop 4, and now that I've discovered this and installed it, I'll be holding onto the 3 as I can now control both with my Surface keyboard and Arc mouse. Brilliant. Seamless installation, works perfectly.
I have noticed that you can change mouse on either pc's or even change the "Blue tooth" number for logitech mouses, and when active, it will pick it up and let you continue the screen "sharing" , good !
*_Perfect. Just when I need to set-up and work between 3 Surface Pros at home. Thank you so much, Kevin. You're the best. Always looking forward to watching your videos._*
I use a Jelly Comb track ball and out of the box it connects to 3 devices, 1 through 2.4 ghz wireless and 2 through bluetooth. There is a button on the mouse that instanly changes from each option. It is awersome. I like that this App allows exchanging files and will be downloading and trying it out. Love these vids. :P
This is such a great method! ! So many helpful tips in such a short amount of time. Thank you for taking the time to outline these steps and share your experience with us all! Amazing work, keep it up!!
super cool, helped us in church a lot, one of the laptops broke and we have to use him anyway because of the necessity, so we used ndi and mouse w/o to solve, very useful.
I work from home for Microsoft as well. This is great! My KVM switch would not work with my wireless keyboard and mouse so I had to move the wireless fob from PC to PC to get the keyboard/mouse to work on a different PC. This solves that problem. Now if you can just do the same for monitors I can throw away my KVM switch for good! Get back in the garage and please figure that one out! Thanks!
A big benefit of Synergy is it uses your LAN instead of the internet. So it doesn't use precious internet bandwidth. And most people have much faster LAN or WiFi than their internet.
oh my god. always legit and reliable kevin. after getting frustrated to get barrier to work, i'm glad that i saw this (your) video about MWB and it instantly worked for my laptop and desktop pc. and i like the idea that this works better if the computers are lan connected because my desktop does not have wifi adapter. thank you, kev. it is working 100%.
hey demo youtubers! this is how a demo video is done! short and sweet demo that explains and highlight the app but also mention hiccups and solution at the same time! subbed ASAP!
Brilliant Kevin! Thanks very much, works flawless for my desk! I am going to try the computer in the other room to see if I can access it with the distance and between walls, will let you know
This is Great! Thanks. I have three computers on my desk, with one of them being a laptop, and this works across all three of them. Fantastic! Thanks, again!
holy fuck, this is a game changer, i use my main desktop PC and my surface pro X together all the time (the SPX is the touchscreen only model with no keyboard, basically a windows tablet), and I've got a wireless mouse that can switch between both devices but there's like a 3-4 second delay, and the switch is underneath the mouse, not ideal, so i just default to poking the surface with my finger which is pretty hellish, windows is NOT touch optimised, i don't care what microsoft say... this changes my workflow SO MUCH jeeeeez, i can't believe how well optimised this is, there's virutally no latency using a wireless mouse connected to my main pc, relayed to my surface, it's so damn badass, and the keyboard seamlessly switching to whichever PC i've got the mouse on is actually epic tysm for this video dude, quick simple setup vid, straight to the point! cheers!
I have been using Input Director but it only does the Mouse; how did I not see this in my previous searching, so far awesome with main computer and laptop, about to start the old computer up as well, thanks for the video!
Awesome. I remember at one of my jobs, we used to have an external adapter to do this. It was kinda odd to press one bottom to switch peripherals to another pc. This one really saves time and space. Haven't fully tested, but at least on main pc if I'm playing at full screen the mouse is locked to that screen. I was pretty worry about that, but it worked well. Already loving it, still need more testing of course.
No because that will share the screen too. Going through this method will allow you to share your keyboard and mice with another computer as if it was a second monitor.

Kevin, your last comment in this video was: "For this to work well you'll have to make sure that you have a relatively fast internet connection for all of your different computers. Otherwise you might get some stuttering or some lag." Are you serious on this, the software is sync'ed via the internet, aka Azure (as it's from Microsoft)? I'd assume that this works locally _only_. Otherwise I'd prefer a prominent security warning that you're about to install a remote Keyboard/mouse service from Azure on your PC! >>> Please tell me that I'm wrong!
Thanks @Christopher Horn - You stated exactly my thoughts and questions. By the way, if this MWB were openSource, we would be more confident regarding security/spying concerns...
A great app but it makes me nostalgic for a capability in NT pre-release - the ability to open windows with different credentials. In a sense the flip side of this feature. I should be able to share my desktop for different roles (or accounts) in different windows. I can ssh into my machine with different credentials so the underlying mechanisms seem to be there. WSL2 on W11 is a good example, -- but now we need WSW
Awesome! I’m getting it. I’ve got so many neat ideas and tools from your channel! Will you do video(s) on virtual desktops? There are no good quality tutorials out there.
Great app, very close to one promoted a while ago by LTT, but at 2:35 couldn't some p2p way be implemented to bypass the 100MB limit, we don't need to funnel everything through a dedicated sever when the two pcs are literally next to eachother
Yep. The similar product and same functionality is Synergy from Symless Ltd I'm using since 2016. Works great. And Synergy work with Windows, macOS and Linux.
