Vietnam - Combat And Other Activity, January 1966 - 173D Airborne Brigade, 1St Infantry Division, 25Th Infantry Division, And A Special TC Air Recovery Unit.
The Vietnam war was a huge and costly mistake by the government of the USA. These films are more of a confidence reinforcement for the powers that were in office at the time, and a propaganda film to boot. They are a brilliant historical film and after so many years the informed viewer will see them as a glimpse of that time, and not necessarily accurate. Thanks for sharing this interesting and informative film. 👍
That war should of never lasted as long as it did, LBJ and his cronies handcuffed our soldiers before going into battle. My father flew the Republic F-105 during Operation Rolling Thunder (Blunder) he said they would bomb the same place over and over and over again even though it was completely destroyed on day one, in the meantime the VC would move in AAA and SAMS and shoot them down, absolutely ridiculous way to run a war when you are 10,000 miles away.
Tell that to my uncle kia mid-3/1968 , tail end of bloody ass TET in SouthVietnams , Central Highlands near Pleiku . This was about just over 10 days b-4 my 11th bday .
"Hanoi" huh? Coming from a person who pays little regard for the additional lives that would've been lost in a "Civil War" Typical of a totally ignorant bufoon who knows nothing of the history of that war.
@@tomcomiskey6350 You are so right we could have won the war in less than a year with limited nuclear weapons and then invade the north but the politicians were afraid of Russia and China don't know why we held our own in Korea when the Russians flew those MIG and the Chinese fought alongside of the North Koreans plus Kennedy made Russia take their missiles out of Cuba turn ships that was headed to Cuba around to go back too Russia they didn't want a war against us as we against them but when you have middle and old men leading the way what do you expect plus I'm a Vietnam veteran 1966 drafted same war that agent orange face was a draft dodger coward like a lot of so call patriotic and Christians of today
Cu Chi 1966-67 artillery unit, ammo unit, 25 infantry. Welcome home brothers .
They are still carrying m-14s. This was early in the war.

If south Vietnam still existed, the US could have had some bases in Southeast Asia by now.

It is too bad that the Americans didn't have the "Bunker Busting Bomb" back then. They could have wiped out the entire VC regiments north of Saigon.
God, who thought that white name tape was a good idea?
Tưởng nước nhỏ nhuot được bài học cho loài người
We should have created a massive base in Hanoi.

We weren't allowed we would have easily defeated them! The politicians wouldn't have liked that!

We wanted freedom for the South Vietnamese more than they wanted it for themselves.
I bet some of this film was staged
