Hercules - Go The Distance Composer: Alan Menken Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra Conductor: Michael Kosarin Soloist: Drew Sarich All rights are with the ORF, Disney and other License-owners
I ran out of live versions of Roger Bart singing this. Roger Bart does it so well. So I started looking for covers, but I didn't want the typical sappy CZcams crap. This one looked promising, and I was not disappointed. Drew Sarich has a beautiful voice, and I don't know how he sounds normally, but he really captures the "Hercules" boyish tone. Geez, I'd even venture to say that his voice is more powerful than Roger Bart's. Bart will always be the original though. Congratulations Drew, and to the entire orchestra.
indeed that mr drew sarich has a natural talent with a very high quality well educated voice , will be for the future one artist to imitate!!!! from one to ten 10.5
I have often dreamed of a far off place Where a hero's welcome would be waiting for me Where the crowds would cheer, when they see my face And a voice keeps saying this is where I'm meant to be I'll be there someday, I can go the distance I will find my way if I can be strong I know every mile would be worth my while When I go the distance, I'll be right where I belong Down an unknown road to embrace my fate Though that road may wander, it will lead me to you And a thousand years would be worth the wait It might take a lifetime but somehow I'll see it through And I won't look back, I can go the distance And I'll stay on track, no I won't accept defeat It's an uphill slope But I won't loose hope, 'till I go the distance And my journey is complete, oh yeah But to look beyond the glory is the hardest part For a hero's strength is measured by his heart, oh Like a shooting star, I will go the distance I will search the world, I will face its harms I don't care how far, I can go the distance 'Till I find my hero's welcome waiting in your arms I will search the world, I will face its harms 'Till I find my hero's welcome waiting in your arms
Hercules and Ursula during the very same concert : the guy is amazing !
Holy cow, I hadn't realized this was the same concert. 👀
He'd been Quasimodo in the German Hunchback o' Notre Dame musical. That was, like, a few years back.
His Judas in JCS in absolutely amazing.
He's an absolutely triple thread and super talented artist 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
These two performances are so drastically different. The only similarity is that they’re both iconic!
Wow. I just watched his Poor Unfortunate Souls and I can’t believe that Ursula is also this guy. Lol amazing 🤣
The French horn… gets me every time. Just an incredible instrument
his talking eyes .. his charming voice .. his extraordinary character .. WOW!
His stage presence is remarkably outstanding , the way he look at the audience, goosebumps.

I have often dreamed of a far off place
Where a hero's welcome would be waiting for me
Where the crowds would cheer, when they see my face
And a voice keeps saying this is where I'm meant to be
I'll be there someday, I can go the distance
I will find my way if I can be strong
I know every mile would be worth my while
When I go the distance, I'll be right where I belong
Down an unknown road to embrace my fate
Though that road may wander, it will lead me to you
And a thousand years would be worth the wait
It might take a lifetime but somehow I'll see it through
And I won't look back, I can go the distance
And I'll stay on track, no I won't accept defeat
It's an uphill slope
But I won't loose hope, 'till I go the distance
And my journey is complete, oh yeah
But to look beyond the glory is the hardest part
For a hero's strength is measured by his heart, oh
Like a shooting star, I will go the distance
I will search the world, I will face its harms
I don't care how far, I can go the distance
'Till I find my hero's welcome waiting in your arms
I will search the world, I will face its harms
'Till I find my hero's welcome waiting in your arms
