“…….for the life of your van”! Just let that sink in for a minute………❤
Your team does beautiful, ethical work
Real old-fashion customer service: Like it should be.
Value for Value!
Customer service at it's finest and George at Humble Road go hand in hand. Impressive work as always. The fact that you always strive to make your customers happy is definately refreshing in today's society. 👏👏👏
First Class!! Impressive as always
Can you imagine if all RV companies did a tighten up? There's so much poor build quality out there.
Thankfully, our tighten ups have been very minimal in terms of correction. That’s because we took the time to do it right the first time.
Yea sure but then a $20k travel trailer would cost $50k.
You can’t compare a $250k custom van to a mass produced RV.
True, a full comparison doesn’t really stand up, and is essentially irrelevant. This company is clear about quality, and doesn’t pretend to be “budget”.
I wish the average manufacturers would just try a bit harder. Sticks and staples! No good.
@@dand5829 Build quality doesn't necessarily add a lot of cost. Poor design and low build quality are mainly the result of apathy and lack of effort, not the desire to cut cost, although that is a factor too. No one expects every RV to have every luxury feature and artful aesthetics, but they certainly should expect everything in their new rig to work. The entire mainstream RV industry needs a reboot. If cost go up a little, so be it, but the status quo is pathetic.
Word.
You are a magician George. Everything I do to my older van I catch myself thinking "would George approve?"
Thanks George, as I say to Van build people, “see how George does it”, keep thinking out of the square, there are always other ways. Humble Road videos are a real cheer up.👻
I find them to be inspirational. While I don’t build with 80/20, I do appreciate the value of aluminum extrusion framing. Strong, lightweight, and flexible.
Gorgeous work! I dont think Inwould give up my own shower, lol, especially one so brilliant as you made. Loved it.
that shower set up to me was everything in that van,it was innovative, I also like that they have the tighten up policy.
I are always impressed with the level of attention tiodetail that give to every aspect of these builds .
I like the garage sliders.
Thanks George
Always Enjoy Your Sunday Morning Humble Road Videos ..
Hey There, George! The take ‘I’ get overall in this video is “80/20 is KING!” HOWEVER (you knew ‘that’ was coming! 😂), you NEVER disappoint me in your ways of fabricating, and, with that how you use it to your advantage in regards to repair..or, in this situation, like, removing Sam’s shower and replacing it with the closet thingy. Absolutely mind blowing to me! I’m actually NOT impressed by much as a rule but since subscribing to Humble Road ions ago YOU have just changed that part of me forever! Btw, and believe it or not, but, the town I live in [here in Texas] is named ‘Humble’ also!…what I call a ‘suburb’ of Houston,Tx!…only WE pronounce it ‘Umble’. Always thrilled to see a new video from you, George! Stay safe and God Bless! ~Jim~
Thank you Jim! Best to you!
@@HumbleRoad 👍😎
How is it that you are still under 100k subs?? You are the best kept secret on CZcams!!
Love the integrity visit, great quality build
Free tightening is so smart
Impressed with your return-2-tighten policy. If only all companies cared as much about quality........
Thank you for the video. Awesome detailed work you do. Blessings to you.
OH my word, it's 3am, I can't stop watching you, you're so smart. Just waiting for you to have someone return one that's perfect for my hubby and me. We're 70 and 80 yrs old and I miss camping. I've sub'ed to you and will continue looking and learning, you're fascinating! Well done on all your inventions!
Thank you for your kind words and welcome to Humble Road!
Its nice to know that you still maintain these vans after use. You're so descriptive and detailed. You're very passionate about the craftsmanship. After 18 months of constant traveling the van still looks great. Such quality. I'm truly impressed.
I appreciate that!
Good choice on the two strings of 300w series panels. Higher voltage from the panels is always best for solar since Victron controllers need the panels to be a certain voltage before they send anything to the batteries.
Two separate controllers for each side is also a really good decision. It creates redundancy and helps with shading effects on one string not affecting the other. Especially with that AC on the roof.
Exactly! Although now-a-days most panels include a diode to prevent the debilitating shade effects in a series string.
@@HumbleRoadI’ve run a few tests before, and it's still significant in series vs parallel. Series always helps with longer days of solar input (higher voltages longer) while parallel helps with shading deficiencies, mismatched panel wattages or pwm controllers.
thats a great build George and I love your guarantee you give your customers.
amazing ideas...... thank you so much for sharing your wisdom...
You are so welcome!
Excellent upgrades ! Love the tighten up concept !!
Very nice re cap and re do. Good video here. Cheers
Terrific!
FYI, I had Embassy RV, the company that built my van install two Mastervolt MAC Plus 50 amp DC/DC charge controllers that use the Ford factory optional second alternator for a total of 100 amp to my 600ah Lithionics battery bank and it works great. Just have to change the charge profile for lithium to protect the alternator. You may want to look into these units for your customers. I understand that my alternator can handle a total of three Mastervolt MAC Plus units and just may have a third one installed for a total of 150 amps to my battery kit.
I have the Victron 3k inverter...
I've been following Embassy for a little over a year and I really like what Terry is doing over there. The seem to have cracked the code on how to build a high quality, well equipped van at a decent price. There are a few items I don't like about Embassy vans, but overall I would seriously consider owning one, if a custom HR van never comes within reach.
One thing I've heard about Embassy is that all those great ideas are tested out on the clients! My clients are not the Guinea pigs! And I have multiple shelves of dead product to show for it! 😆
Your vans are amazing, attention to detail is out standing. if you were here in the UK would be one of your customers for definite.
INCREDIBLE 💪❤
Thanks to your previous video regarding the Maxxfan voltage issue, I was able to contact airxcel, and they sent me two new motherboards and my problem is resolved. Prior to receiving the motherboards, I had installed a small voltage regulator inside the fan shroud. My new problem was that even though the regulator stated it was an adjustable DC 3-30V to DC 1.25V-28V Voltage Regulator Step Down Power Supply Module, I could not get it to run the fans properly. The highest setting was still slower than without the regulator, so I removed them and waited for the new motherboard.
You’re simply the best ❤❤❤❤❤
Check out Danish built Claytons :) not big enough for Sam but good stuff
Oh no!!!! The shower was the BEST PART of Sams' Van. When I saw the original build I was soo impressed with Humble Road due to the Shower innovation that I immediately subscribed. Sam does NOT deserve the Van! Unbelievable that he got rid of the best feature!
Love your stuff. Just got my van, finally. Will be doing alot of prototyping to see what i want.
Great video.
This youtube channel needs to grow. So others see it and HumbleRoad can get payed by advertisers for giving away all these ideas to the DIY types.
Tell all your friends!
Amazing stuff. You guys come up with the best ideas. Love the Tighten Up service.
Quality build by quality guys. good stuff. You have come leaps and bounds from the first time we spoke several years ago..... I could use a little "Tighten up" myself. !!!!
As always, great job!
AMAZING quality comes out of Humble Road Van Builders !!!!! Awesome video, George ...... 👌👍👍👍
Hopefully Maxair will get their 💩 together some day ⁉
Your tighten up every 12 months or there abouts would be or is the number one reason I would want a Humble Road built van, Been watching a couple that purchased a Thor B class and our having nothing but issues Thor don't even seem to care you do seem to care
I care. A lot. It's my product. It defines who I am. That's also how I ran my commercial photography studio.
Wow sick build
I just watched your vid of Sam's van (not the tighten up). It is the most beautiful van conversion I have ever seen! Fabulous Job!
Archie Bell & The Drells - Tighten up (1968)
Archie Bell and the Drells, “Tighten Up” from 1968. I remember that! 😂
Ecoflow power kits are the way to go now. Cheaper, simple to set up and better. Look em up!!
I’m aware
That was such an incredibly beautiful shower construction, but if you're showering elsewhere, that is a great conversion--so much more storage. Leaving the shower pan is brilliant for the next occupants. We just installed a MaxxAir in ours b/c we don't have an exhaust fan on the stove...so sad to hear about the motherboard issues. Humble Road is such a quality build. Much love from SC, Jane
Thanks for sharing. Like #84
We need more George’s.
I could use a few more myself..
I like the running boards, but I am not a fan of those exposed 80/20 ends. Have you ever thought of milling a big end cap that covers the front ends of all 5 rails? Your CNC could mill wood, or aluminum, or you could build a jig and bend some stainless steel rail into a curve?
Great work as always George...
Hey sir, you need to get yourself a hydraulic lift table so that a single person can lift big items and move them around! Harbor Freight maybe...
UGH! I had not finished the project!
The running boards (and all exposed 8020 ends) get black caps to finish off.
And YES! I need a hydraulic lift AS WELL AS a four legged van lift!
Anything 12 volt should be behind a DC to DC converter, just to take the varying voltage from the vehicle and correcting that to be stable. Arguably, perhaps, the alternator from the vehicle shouldn't be affecting the voltage level in the house part at all, even if you use it for charging.
You're the best... Kudos...
Love It!
Love you work it is awesome. I just can't afford to spend 80,000 on one
Another great video. But, I would never, ever give up my own shower !
Don’t say never!
@@HumbleRoad You're right, don't say never.
Thanks for update.
So many great updates!!!!
As always, a really well done and informative video. I have studied all of your videos and learned a lot that I am applying to my own build. Regarding the Maxxair fan issues, are you still also recommending a conformal coating? Do you use a silicone type for that? I will also be using a dc-dc voltage regulator, but it doesn’t appear that DROK has that one at this time, so I will probably use the one from XWST.
Oh so creative! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Love the color plan for the former shower area.
Is the toilet going to be updated also, or left original?
Oh! I forgot to mention the new toilet is a Trelino. So now the C-head is for sale!
Great work as always
Beautiful ...
Archie Bell and the Drells
Well, to paraphrase Forest Gump: Genius is as genius does.
And this is why Humble Road is set apart from the RV industry in general. It's a whole other world and probably shouldn't even be called an RV. More like mobile ART-V.
George Mauro, National Treasure of Van Conversion Artists. I can't thank you enough for all of the information that you have shared so freely. If not for you, I would have no idea of the many quirks of the High Roof Ford Transit Cargo van. I need AWD or 4WD where I live. Additionally, I wouldn't want the hassle of searching for diesel in remote areas or looking for a dealership that could service the Sprinter. Have you considered the under-mount AC units in the Transits? Also, I've seen very thin, flexible solar panels from Renogy that must weigh nearly nothing. Are those too inefficient? I hope you and yours are safe from the crazy weather that has hit the East Coast.
The fact that the MaxxAir Fan mfr. didn't immediately propose a permanent solution and instead relies on craft persons like yourself to rescue his product is one more reason another supplier should design, build and sell a better. I've noticed the remote is a PoS. The interior flange as well. The LED is too bright for night cabin sleeping, the controls are too close for someone half awake to adjust them, it has 5 speeds to many and the zinger is the lid. The lid should slide right or left, by choice of the installer instead of raising up or down. The benefits of operation as is are negligent compared to being able to mount PV above these things.
There are savvy builders getting away from them, I wouldn't be surprised if Humble Road did as well. Potentially frees up roof space for more solar as well.
🥰
Sweeeeet!
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
can you design a rock n roll bed frame to fit my thor promaster model k? The original is very poorly designed and a real hassle to open and close.😀
👐👍
They STILL haven't fixed the fan voltage problem?
What are they waiting for? A class action suit?
They claim they have fix the problem.
What brand / model sliders are those with the release handles? The ones in the last segment?
Awesome videos.... DO YOU HAVE A VAN FOR SALE ALREADY MADE?????????
Nothing available for sale now but when my clients decide to sell, they reach out to me first so I would make an announcement
*anything* automotive used to, and still should, be rated for 10-17v and operate normally within that range. With the stste of electronics we have today where they can sell a phone charger that works from 85 to 245v I find it very sloppy design for a fan to fail like that and I would not be using such a product in anything I put my name to. I must admit to falling foul of such an issue around 5 times years ago with the 5v regulator the often used 1117, its useless in an automotive environment. these are often used in lvehicle ed lighting and other remote controlled automotive products
Does that incredible warranty transfer to subsequent owners?
Buying any negligence yes, the warranty transfers. Keep in mind. The warranty is only on the craftsmanship and workmanship created by the Humber Road staff. I’m not warrantee appliances.
George, I love you but why have running boards on a ProMaster? It already rides so close to the ground a running board should not be necessary.
Running boards on a Promaster are necessary!
I'm curious if there was any mold in the shower pan below the cabinet. Mold loves dark and wet.
No mold in the shower pan it’s open to ventilation
@@HumbleRoad That's great. I was wondering how that would work out since you built it.
Thank you for responding.
Keep up the great work 👍 👏
You don’t need those huge, very heavy solar panels on the roof. Simple, very light, flexible solar panels from Renogy would be way, way better and I don’t think they would be more expensive either.
Compare the performance and longevity statistics on each of these panels
I'll be back...
MacArthur
Looks like Sam is more of the HOTEL type.
Does the nation alternator issue also happen on the ford transit
No, not to my knowledge.
I'm still interested in a Maxi-Me. How are they coming along?
I have a Maxima coming in soon I’m holding her off until I have room in the shop
@HumbleRoad Awesome! Can't wait to see what they'll be like. Thank you!
whatever happened to the futon van build? I am having trouble finding the end result of that build.
czcams.com/video/tL6BXKLwEUE/video.html
How is it possible to run 2 AWT wire into the Victron DC to DC charges? They won’t accept anything bigger than 6 AWT?
It’s just not feasible…on this planet anyways. HumbleRoad must function on a different plane.
Maybe I missed it, but what ever happened to the Ford Transit 250 RWD High Roof Extended "Light Foot" build? Was/Is there a walk through video?
Coming this Sunday!!
Just watched it…Brilliant!
I forgive the click-bait title. You're welcome!
wasn't really that far off the mark, was it? 😇
@@HumbleRoad No. I wish I had the same attention for detail that keeps me coming back to your videos--thanks for your hard work!
hello! i was wondering - what if you don’t want wood? Do you work with other choices for the build?
Absolutely. We do our own layups with laminate.
The She to Me Transit will be done in White Chocolate laminate just like their Pleasure-Way Ascent.
@@HumbleRoad oh? ok i follow them - my goal is to have this in approx year or a year and a 1/2.
Why two separate MPPTs instead of one larger more powerful one?
Two MPPT's are for redundancy. Sam is a full time van dweller. He needs his solar. If his one and only MPPT craps out, he's out of luck. But with two separate systems...well...
The MPPT does not dictate the power, the solar panels do.
Incredible workmanship. Only a company with your attention to detail and craftsmanship could offer your warranty. My only surprise is that there are no end caps for the 80/20 running boards. Sorry, I can be a little anal...
We just hadn’t put the end caps on at the time of the video.
NOBODY ELSE OFFERS THAT SERVICE
You make it sound that everyone you sell a customized van to is weak and unable to do things easily.
No, not at all. But for the price my clients pay, I want them to have the absolute best experience I can provide.
Is this only to the original owner 🤔
Barring any negligence life of the van
