How to SELF ISOLATE and prepare for CORONAVIRUS | MORETON BAY FISHING | SNAPPER | TUSK FISH | SQUID

  • Like the rest of the world, we wanted to be fully prepared for a potential Coronavirus lockdown. Rather than heading to the supermarket to load up on tinned food and toilet paper, we spent two days fishing the beautiful waters or Moreton Bay. BIG fish, fully eskies and a whole lotta fun. Enjoy!

    You need to put the rocks back after turning them over as all the crustaceans left behind are dying when you are collecting the rock crabs

    • @_OuterLine
      @_OuterLine  Před 4 lety +1

      Jenny Reilly hi Jenny. No, all the crabs have already scrambled under the rock again once it’s flipped. Flipping the rock back over risks squashing whatever is left there so we leave them as they are.

      @dbayboyds409 Před 3 lety +1

      @@_OuterLine ditto Jenny’s comment. You really need to flip the rocks back over. All the crabs have moved but the microorganisms that live under the rocks can’t survive on top and the ones that live on top can’t survive being upside down. Great video and brilliant showcasing of the bay. I’ve subbed!

    I've seen some rather large sharks in the bay, big tigers, the thing lots of people don't realise is there used to be a whaling station on moreton island, and the generation of sharks that are alive remember that food source, point is, I would not have my feet or hands out side the boat, in the bay near the island,
    years ago, there used to be a big female tiger on the other side of the washing machine that gave birth every other year, she was real agresive, we used to fish out of a Bruce Harris cat, genuine 20 foot boat, she was bigger than us, THATS a fact

      Arron Wellington Hey Arron, yes we are looking forward to everything going back to normal to, but doesn’t seem like it’s going to for a long time! The island doesn’t have a name, but it’s directly west of amity point, the western side of the rainbow channel just before you get to the bar. It’s accessible at high tide but better at low as there is more sand exposed.

    Guys, when you don't put back each rock in the same position, you are destroying all microorganisms, eggs and small fishs underneath. Meanwhile, this is forbidden to pick up female crab and minimum sizes are regulated when you are crabbing, from 10 or 12 cm. Fishing adult is great but you have to think about how birth is given in nature to get a chance to fish in the next futur !
