My British white husband and I (South African Black) got engaged 6mnths into the relationship 😅 in 2010 September and married following June 18th. We've got a 6yr old boy and expecting a second early July. We've never experienced any form of discrimination but curiosity instead. In my experience you don't go through over a decade of being with someone and not face some hard times...but if love is stronger then you work through everything else together.

Honestly, it's beautiful! I'm Greek and my father had shrimp boats in Trinidad and Cartagena Colombia. When my parents marriage ended, I moved to Trinidad. My stepmother was Chinese and Black, a stunning lady. I'm proud to say, I grew up in a time and place where I didn't even know it wasn't liked or frowned upon in the USA. I was raised to love and see no color. I, found myself attracted to a type, but color didn't matter. What's interesting is when I came back to the STATES, I didn't consider myself white, I was light skinned, and to my knowledge, black people were dark skinned. I was in a disarray I was labeled the white girl with the funny accent. I moved to Trinidad at age 6 so I grew up with a Trinidadian accent. I am proud my father raised me right. I'm proud of the two of you, and that beautiful daughter! Big Ups! 😘❤

I don’t understand that in this day and age there still has to be an explanation as to why we are in are in a interracial relationship. I have been with my white Scottish husband for 33years (I’m Jamaican)- yeah we noticed some dodgy reaction to us in the early days, mainly from black men, but like you said Tom you cannot help who you fall for. It helps having a good sense of who you are and where you are from. Respecting each other’s values and traditions. Don’t let anyone tell you who to love folks.
I know, me and my husband have been in life together for nearly 26 years now, no one was ever bothered. We just had to get on with our life, building our home and raising our family. Tommy, loved your beautiful lovely story. My husband and I met at work. We both worked in a chemical lab for a Fortune 500 company and he was my manager. He was just a great guy, easy to share my concerns with as any employee. He truly explained things so well and a group of us would have lunch together a few days a week. He and I both were married, so there was never any attraction in that way. Several years later, I was divorcing my husband and spoke with my manager about some of the difficulties I was experiencing. It was during this time that he shared he was not happy in his marriage for a variety of reasons. The more we talked the more we realized how much we had in common with each other than with our spouses. And yes I was his Black Queen and he became my King. I never knew love like the love I had for him and he for me. He is and always will be the love of my life.....Seven years of marriage and he was killed in a automobile accident by a drunken driver. So blessed to have had those seven years with him.

Tommy so great you were able to share your journey with us and were really young when you married. Love has no colour and you luv who you luv and we are attracted to the person nothing should be about the colour. You are an amazing young man also husband and father and really wish you all a happy life. I'm older than you guys and thought I had the luv of my life but got let down but I know that to this day he has regrets that could never be repaired cause we know deep down we had that real special luv you talked about but unfortunately could not be repaired as I really think you can only luv that way once. Stay blessed and keep appreciating every moment.
