OMG. I am a freshman Biology major that wants to become an MLT. And a video of a black girl like me as an MLT comes up on my explore page?! I'm so happy. Thank you for your video!
Shoot for MT
Why not just take the mlt program lol
Change your program and go for mlt or mls
Mlt = associates degree in applied science
Mls = bachelors degree in applied science
Tbh idk the difference between the two except that one can be a manager/supervisor and the mlt cant.
@@apdroidgeek1737 I don’t really know if it is offered at my university but Thank you for your advice and help. I am a Biology major with the Biotechnology concentration.
Fellow lab tech here. It’s so nice to see a video of what we do on a daily basis. We can start educating more people about our field. Hope to see more content from you.
I really want to study this and I don’t know why I wanna back out . I graduated from phlebotomy last December is this training hard ??
Being a MA it’s nice to see what goes on after we draw the blood and put the orders in then leave the specimen at the lab. My sister is a laboratory scientist and she loves it.
i just finished my gen ed’s for college and got accepted into the MLT program and i’m so excited !! also nervous 😟
You did? What college is it.
was it hard getting into an MLT program?
@@ingridi5128 no it’s not hard. They are desperate for students
How’s it been?
@@user-cj8cs4ic1cAre they? How so?
Thank you so much for making this video! This helped me so much in really understanding what is required in the job of a medical lab tech. I will be applying to a program to become a medical lab tech soon!
I appreciate you taking the time to make this video. I'm currently in school atm taking care of my prerequisites in order to enter into a MLT program. I have a long way to go- but its nice to see what an average day would look like for me in the future (possibly). Thank you thank you thank you :)
being a medical lab tech is one of my career paths of choice and these "day in a life" videos really help me decide what to do in my life. your job is really interesting and not a lot people credit y'all for it. thank you sm!
I’m currently in a BS Medical Laboratory Science program at my school and I’m super excited! This really inspired me to keep going and fulfill this dream of mine of always wanting to work in a lab! I already have an associates degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology, and although now going for my BS in MLS seems like such a big switch, it’ll somehow go hand in hand and catapult me forward! I do have experience in QC -very little- specifically for inspecting part tolerance, but seeing QC pop up in this video was also exciting. Thank you for the inspiration 🤍 And I love your hair!
I'm about to start my clinical year of education before certification and I'm super excited! i love seeing other people's daily routines for the job and it gets me excited to work as a MLT!
I’m currently going to school for this! This is cool to see
I’m in school to become a certified mlt, super excited for this to be my reality. Thanks for the glimpse into your daily life!
I recently graduated as a medical scientist 👩🏽🔬 🔬 and I wish I had videos like this look at when I was studying. Love this video!
I'm soooooo happy I found you're channel it's very informative i'm a MLT I just finished my program last month.
Very interesting! I myself am looking into a lab tech career and was interested to see how this kind of thing works. I actually found the background music to be a bit distracting, but your video editing was decent otherwise. Keep up the good work!
Girl I LOVE the song you used in this video, I have it in my playlist! its one of my favorites! I am currently at community college originally to become a MLT but I decided to transfer earlier to university so I am just shooting for MLS though I still have to do rounds before I graduate! I'm so nervous but we all can do this! our world needs us right now! you are so inspiring keep on girl! love this video!
You're awesome!!! I just finished my degree program in August and I'm applying to get a position as a technologist in molecular or micro. Can't wait!
I’m on the waiting list for the program.. I did all the pre requisites and I have been a lab assistant for 18 years...wow time flys
Thank you for this video! It's one of the most informational ones I've come by. I've been curious about being a MLT, and I'm still trying to figure out if it's what I want to do after high school.
Go for Medical Lab technologist or scientist...more money and more movement in terms of management...
Some jobs will pay for your bachelor's program if you get an associates first, just FYI!
I absolutely love being a laboratory tech. Fast forward to today in 2021 I am tired, but we will get through this. Bless you.
God bless u snd all the ppl like u who work to help sick become better,vMay the joy of the Lord bevyour strength
Blood bank technologist since 2020. Great video to demonstrate a day in the life of a Lab Tech.
Just seeing this makes me happy and excited in 2 years, and I’ll be aMLT😭💜🤩
Great Video. I know more than ever this is the right field for me. I always get so excited watching med lab technician videos. I'm hoping to enroll in the program hopefully next year January 2022!!
All the very best
Small youtuber here as well as a medical technologist. Love this
Real nice video God bless! Keep inspiring youngsters and everyone
I truly like ur vds and the way of your work you're amazing ❤❤❤
Fellow MLS! Thanks for showing what we do daily!
We are the science behind the diagnosis, and I love it.
Been a MLT for 12 years now, it is def a rewarding job, but very underpaid considering all we do. I work at 2 small hospital labs, i work alone and i draw the patients, plus do all maintenace, QC and even help with codes in the ER! I do police kit draws when they arrest someone thats drunk or been in accident! It can be exciting job! Never dull moment. It can be very hectic at times. I would suggest for those interested in being a lab tech to try to talk to someone that is one. However with covid now it can be very difficult to maybe shadow someone in a lab. For the money, i sometimes wish i had been a nurse, but on the other hand i love what i do. God bless you all!
Awesome video! I work in LA and we only do QC once per day.
Hey career mate,am proud to see one of us,much love from Kenya😘😜
whenever i’m loosing my passion and motivation to push through my chosen course which is science in medicine laboratory, I always watch vlogs like this and it never fails me. I want to see myself one day working inside a laboratory and helping and healing people through my service.
Representation matters! I'm glad to see a black MLT 💕 I'm inspired!
Nice and creative approach to sharing a medical laboratory career. Good work.
I'm looking into going into that field as well and I wanna make sure everything looks goof
I'm currently in school to become a MLT 😊 had my first internship last December and wow your workplace seems very calm compared to what I experienced at a rather big laboratory outside of a hospital!
Phlebotomist here and yeah hospital labs are kind of like factories really. A lot of noise
Proud to ba a BMLT ...from India 🇮🇳 ♥
A BIG SALUTE TO OLL THE CURRENT LAB TECHNICIANS...n THE FUTURE LAB TECHNICIANS.... even em also the MLT STUDENT
I’m in a wormhole of doctor videos. Thanks Greys 😩
I’m excited to see more of your content! I’m a MLT as well! Currently in school to become a MLS! Watching your video makes me very motivated to continue school and really enjoy my career! ❤️
I was wondering if you can go from mlt to mls . Thank u!
@@daisyg1201 yep! I’m doing the online program at the University of Arkansas
@@shanikaMLS thank you!!
Im an MLT going to school to become an MLS as well! I go to university of cincinnati!
@@marjoriekdee Hello girl, would you mind telling me about your MT online program? I mean your MT program is online 100%? And how about clinicals? Thank you in advance.
Happy to see fellow MTs! Without us, you're just guessing!! Class of '98
Love this. Thinking of doing this
A proud Medical Lab Technologist Too from 🇰🇪. You go girl ❤️😍 your equipments tho... Adopt me
This is really cool. And I’m a nursing student !!!
Thank you for posting this. I am a MLT as well. We dont get the respect and recognition that we deserve. We deal with alot and the job isnt as easy as people think it is. They think we just push buttons but no no its more to it than that. Alot of nurses and doctors think everything in the lab suppose to come quick but they fail to understand that its a process. Without lab the doctors and nurses wouldnt make it but they can be so disrespectful to the lab. Its sad but true! Enjoyed the video 🔬🔬🔬
Is the job stressful and how long did it take you
@@merongebremeskel1974 I cant speak for others but from my experience yes it can be overwhelming. Especially when you have doctors and nurses calling rushing for results when they just sent a specimen. But it does have its rewarding sides though, I love what I do.. 🔬🔬🔬
Thanks my dear
@@merongebremeskel1974 Ofcourse! Go for it! Its a good field.
I will my dear thanks hopefully it is only two yr
I’m a MLT too and I feel so proud of our job!
how much you earn in a month ?
I’m in the MLT profession and graduate this may! We just had to do a promote the MLT profession presentation
I can’t wait til I finish my clinicals 🤗🤗
Very nice mam, feeling proud for you .
Thank you so much for this video 🙏
I’m an MLT and this was cool to see! I work in hematology so I don’t see a lot of the chemistry testing. Nice to see someone showing the public our profession:)
Looks more like serology. Chemistry analyzers are much bigger
Same . And where are you from??
are you living in the us ?
It looks like y'all use mostly Beckman Coulter for your core lab analyzers. Coming from a Roche heavy lab to one that uses BC instead, it is a learning CURVE. wish you best of luck in the field love ❤
This is an awesome video!
I’m actually pursuing my associates degree to become a MLT. I’m so excited about my new career choice
Hey, love the video. I am a MLT student...
How is it so far?, is it hard?
This is amazing 🤩😊
Informative video thankyou for the content.
MLT here...though this work is stressful sometimes 🤣🤣🤣honestly I got tired with them night shifts
I'm in school studying to be an MLS. Will be done next year and im soo proud

Honestly you wouldn't regret it. I've been 1 for 5 years and loving it
Welcome brother...

Currently studying to become a lab tech.. It's so interesting to see how advanced your lab is compared to what we have in Malawi
Im in Canada & my lab experience at college but when i graduated and got a job it’s totally different lolz

Im in school for this!! ❤❤❤
why do i keep watching this video repeatedly lmbo. i think im imaging myself in your position. thank you!

Fellow lab tech here from Tanzania
Am new here...just watched ur video....was awesome
I just started working as a lab medical assistant..I am so scared😢😢. I dont feel like I can do this, watching your videoes is giving me some confidence..but its nerve wrecking
would you say this is a good job for socially anxious introverts? And do you need to know chemistry because it's not my strongest subject
Amber Acevedo Hey Amber🙋🏾♀️ hope you’re having a good day! I consider myself an introvert and I enjoy working as a lab tech! As a med-tech you do have to work with your coworkers and sometimes speak with a doctor or nurse of that patient, but that’s a fear I got over after doing it so many times. Also, you do have to learn a little chemistry but it’s different in med-tech school. You will focus more on how the body processes proteins, electrolytes, and drug therapy for treating and diagnosing patients. Hope I answered your question😊
Yes this job is perfect for introverts. Chemistry is a most but not super strong but knowing the basics is a must. I work in Pa and salary is great
And of course sometimes you will have to face the patients for sample collection which is a must and you have to communicate your fellow co workers including doctors, nurses, pharmacists and radiologists if they need more explanation about patient results and if they need your advice..though most of the time you will be at the lab..thatc your house for sure😂😂😂
@@missthompson4282 what is your salary if you don’t mind me asking?
I’m taking a 10 week course in my state for this!

You know Any DMLT JOBS
Great video! This is something I've been looking in to for a while now, and I'm getting ready to go off to college. When you say you're a traveling tech, does that mean you control when and where you get to travel and work, or are you sent somewhere by someone?
Yes, as a traveling tech I can control where I want to go. I have a Recruiter who tells me what jobs are available in what state.
@@derekathetourist Also, how often are you working with other people? I know it’s not as up close and personal as doctors and nurses, but are you by yourself a lot?
@@Imthat_maddie That honestly depends on the size of the hospital. If you work in a doctor's office or a small clinic you may work by yourself. In a larger hospital, you do have to work with others in one area. For example, chemistry is a busy area so there are usually three people working that one bench. That's doing the day shift but the night shift usually have less staff with only one people per area.
@@derekathetourist when you go somewhere, do other MLTs treat you rudely because you’re a traveler?
So is this just a really high-throughput immunoassay system for screening patient samples? Cool! What do you do if you perform your controls and the curve looks off/over recovers?
Am also a lab technician ❤❤
Proud of my job MLT...... 🤩
Hey lab buddy... love the video❤️
Omg hey🙋🏾♀️😂 Thank you!
amazing
What analyzer were you working with in the beginning? We have 2 vista's, they usually behave for me 😊
Edit: oh I see now it was a centaur.
This is pretty cool I wrounder if I could do this as a job
I’m in MT school.
I’m going crazy with all the calculations...is it really that much math in the actual field.
Take steps to make your eyes safer. I Recommend Softgle Comfort
Yes! Definitely my kind of type of safety goggles. No pain at all!
Im majoring in biology but I want to work in internal medicine. I am going to the hospital next week to interview for a lab job just to gain some hospital work experience.
Hey Dereka am trying to go back to school to have a license in this as well. Any recommendations and how long is the program? Thanks
