When silicon is clean, it naturally has a sticky feel to it. It might help to hit that mat with some soap and water. The less sticky side might have some sort of mold release on it from the manufacturing process.

Thanks! It was just an experiment. I’m sticking with my Gelli plate. 😍

I use a thin soft hobby foam under the silicon mat. It seems to make a gelly-like flexibility that the real Gelli plate has.

    Thank you!😊

I would recommend putting a damp towel underneath the mat so it doesn't buckle and move around

Appreciate the experiments. Going off to find some magazine photos, thanks for the video.

I would spray with a mist of water between creating & pulling the transfer when just trying to pull the print straight away.

That might work. The acrylic medium pulled the print well. I will probably stick to my Gelli plate. 😍

I’ll bet an old mouse pad under it would help!

Removing and brayering off more paint would help.

Maybe. The main problem was the paint drying really fast on the mat. Just an experiment. 😍

That would just cause the paint to dry even faster unfortunately. I wonder if adding a retarding medium would work to keep the paint moist for longer?
