    Hi Everyone,
    We hope you enjoyed our video! Which travel trailer with FRONT kitchens did you like best? Do you prefer smaller campers or more of a family size camper? Please say hello by leaving a comment below and sharing you opinion about the travel trailers!

    This is the 2nd season in our 2608BS and we absolutely love it. We're not full timers but we are both retired and go out 1-2 times a month for 5-10 days at a time. As far as the funky storage in the bathroom, I roll my towels and 4 fit just fine on one shelf. Hair dryer, hair brushes and other assorted items fit on another shelf. There is plenty of space if you get creative.

    • @RVBlogger

      That's awesome! So glad you love your Rockwood. Thank you for the clarity on the use of the cabinet. Sounds like it isn't an inconvenience at all. Thanks for watching our tour video and commenting Terri.

    Front kitchens are best to me. I prefer to walk into the trailer’s living or kitchen space rather than bed space. Imagine if your home’s front door was in your bedroom. These two examples are excellent. Bathrooms could use just a tad more space tho.

    • @RVBlogger
      @RVBlogger  Před rokem +1

      That is a really great point. I'm not a big fan of walking right into the bedroom either. Thanks for watching our tour video and commenting Don.

    We love our Rockwood 2608. One thing to point out is when traveling and you want to use your bathroom the backdoor entry into the bedroom is the only way to access it without putting out your front slide. The trailer is plenty roomy for 2 people. Love having my front kitchen. We went from a 36foot motor home to this trailer and really enjoy it.

    As Uncle Josh says, "Rockwood doing Rockwood things." Rockwood is just plain impressive. Removing the center island creates so much space I don't understand why more kitchens are not designed like this. The removable table is another great idea. If there is enough solar power and the tanks are large enough, the Rockie could be great boondock material.

    1) I really like the lighted cabinets. Sometimes you end up using a flashlight or headlamp just to root around in your own cabinets so the interior lighting is nice. 2) When there's a deep storage space close to the floor, like beneath the dinette seats, those really need to be drawers, not doors. Either that or you have to add a container you can pull out. Otherwise you end up on your hands and knees with your face near the floor to retrieve anything out of that storage area. If you have to remove cushions to access it from the top that its own minor annoyance, not to mention anyone sitting there at the time has to move. 3) Do removeable shelves which just sit on their supports tend to rattle around as you drive? 4) I love the tip of adding silicone to the glass inlays in the cabinet doors. Your video about strengthening drawer bottoms was very helpful. These are things you don't think about until you've spent some time in RVs. If you have other tips like those, please make more videos about them, I am taking notes for when we're ready to buy our own RV. 📝You guys are the best!

    I have the Rockwood, but it's a 2020 model. Same floorplan, but Forest River has added some convenience features that were not in our trailer. The funky cabinet in the bathroom is new; ours has towel hooks in that space. And there are more electrical outlets in the new model. As you indicated, it's spacious and very comfortable for a couple. We've made the dining table into a bed for an adult once, and he was able to sleep there, but it's probably better suited for a child. We love the floorplan and plan to hang on to this trailer for many more years.

    These floorplans are nearly identical. And the pricing is similar. Both are great and have amazing amounts of storage (particularly hanging storage space) and good CCC. The Freedom Express is great! Love the flexible closet space with removable shelves from the factory! Great counter space and a power tower (bestill my ❤! ) I would prefer a 12V refrigerator. Love the theatre seat option and the TV/fireplace. I would use the open space under the fireplace for pet dishes; they are accessible but won't easily get bumped/spilled I couldn't tell if there were outlets and USB's by the seating or dinette, but if there aren't there should be in case you're using dinette for work space or recharging phones easily. Not having an outlet on both sides of the bed is a miss but the bedroom storage space is amazing! A++ job!! The bath is okay. Radius showers are a tough sell for me being disabled. I need to get a chair inside the shower but I might be able to as this is a bit larger than some. Decent linen storage as well.Nice outdoor kitchen too!
    The Rockwood is very nice as well. The entry closet/pantry is good sized and flexible for use as needed. Love the kitchen counter space and having two separate locations with outlets in them is fabulous! The lower cabinet storage is very good and I appreciate the built-in drawers in the lower cabinets . Great job with outlet placement in the dinette and sofa! Very functional!! Thanks for the residential queen bed. Again, great storage (both hanging and drawers) and outlets on both sides are a win! The second entry door is a nice bonus. The bath is okay for the same reasons as the F.E. The linen storage is interesting. Not sure if the small/awkward space is worth the cost of the cabinetry. No outdoor kitchen is a miss for many people.
    Not sure which one I like better. They both have + and -; just depends in your needs/preferences. Great job as always Susan & Mike!!!

  • @dianedenham5259
    @dianedenham5259 Před rokem +3

    I prefer the 2nd one, Rockwood. It's not perfect but I could manage. (Perfection is same layout but a bit longer for a little bit more space in bathroom.)
    I don't understand why the kitchen counter is two levels. I'd definitely redo that counter, put in single bowl farmer's sink, chg the lower cupboards so that the drawers don't have to be accessed by opening the doors first.
    I like the muted decor, not too contrasty. 😆 I like the 12volt fridge.

      For some reason, Rockwood changed the lower front cabinets for 2023. My 2022 2806BS has the drawers exposed, not behind the doors. Putting them behind the doors reduced the size of the drawers. 😢

  • @sunobo5103
    @sunobo5103 Před rokem +2

    A single bowl kitchen sink in the Rockwood. Doing dishes is tough in those small double sinks. Also that funky cabinet in the bathroom is a waste of space. I would rather see hooks to hang towels or make the shower bigger. My other issue with lots of RV's is that the wardrobes are too short to hang dresses, trousers etc. for the full timers.

    Great review Mike and Susan. Both of these have the same floorplan, with a couple of changes. I guess the designers just copy each other. The coachman should be 2 axles and I suppose the mfg. is trying to get rid of their stock of inefficient 2 way refrigerators (these things will basically be gone in the next couple of years). @5:01 it would appear that someone didn't know how to use some sandpaper to clean up the wood in the kitchen drawer. Companies should offer a choice of a dinette or free standing table and chairs. Also, get rid of the tiny sinks in the head and have more toilet space and a bigger shower. Also also, not a fan of plastic toilets. Stay healthy and safe.

  • @mjmlcmaolcom
    @mjmlcmaolcom Před rokem +1

    The Rockwood appears so much nicer than the Freedom Express and the Rockwood also appears of a higher quality, especially with the cabinetry so the Rockwood is the winner for me in this video. Regarding the Rockwood, it seems like you lose so much space in the front passthrough storage due to the front kitchen cabinetry but the storage space under the bed may make up for that (you did not actually show the front passthrough storage which would have been nice to see). Not of fan of corner showers; we have that now in our Forest River Flagstaff Micro Lite and are looking to move away from that because shaving your legs/washing your feet require having the shower door open or pressing body parts against the glass which doesn't seem like a safe thing to do. If Rockwood could make that corner shower a little bigger with a seat, that would be awesome. The wedge shaped storage cabinet in the bathroom is disappointing but it's better than just having an open space there--maybe you could fit a few toiletries in that cabinet and the closet in the bedroom is more than large enough to install some shelving for linens/towels that you would be unable to fit in the bathroom closet. Great job as usual with your videos! Really enjoy your content.

      That's quite a bit of features to find in a camper under 4,000lbs. Didn't see any in our inventory of RV reviews but we'll keep a lookout for you. Thank you for watching our tour video and commenting Pinapple.

      That's a tough question. How much can your 1500 tow?

      @@shayroo so what is the max tow capacity of your 1500? If you don't know just tell me the year and model number and if you added a tow package.

      It is a hemi etourque. So I think it is 12500. I am looking at Lance 1985’s but just can’t afford em. ;)

    Phone charging outlet on only one side of the bed? Pure crap.
    I own an older front kitchen. I like it when I'm just on the road with my wife buy its a pain to deal with when we have our 3 kids. Especially when we are stuck somewhere that we can't use the slide-out.

      Front kitchens are definitely beneficial for those quick pull overs.Thank you for watching our video and commenting!
