Eurovision is standard, it's never really broken any new ground musically nor is it supposed to. Definitely the best song that year, it should've gone to the final and preferably won but as all we know the best songs only rarely win. That decade really had the worst crap ever in the ESC history, 2006 no exception, it's therefore odd this typical Eurovision song didn't make it further.
I heared there are plenty of Swedish people in Estonia, I think it does have something to do with it. Btw: Not only the song sounds like ABBA but the singer is swedish and blonde, just like ABBA had a blonde in their group.
I was 15 back then, this was my first proper ESC, and I loved this song, it was my fave actually. I was shocked when she did not make it to the Final, but I guess coming after Sweden hurt her chances (similar songs).
That Carola song had a very poor chorus, frankly I was surprised she took part again with such a weak song it was utter garbage compared to this gem, I think.
Omg she is so iconic. I still don't understand how she wasn't qualified. Her outfit is very cool. The song is very beautiful and never off key I think she should have won. Also, I loved the harmony of white and blue in this outfit.
@@escludy9019 unfortunately it's true. I liked the Estonian song more than the Swedish song. I think Estonia should definitely be in the top 10 that year🔥🔥, isn't that unfair?? Her chance wasn't good for running order that's really true
It was originally supposed to be performed by Ines(who represented Estonia in 2000), and in 2002 Runaway was also supposed to be performed by Ines. Both times she decided in the end not to perform the songs and some Swedish girls somehow were found as replacements. The funny thing is, in 2006 actually after pulling out initially, Ines decided to enter last minute the national competition with a song of her own, "Iseendale", which came second place. In my opinion, it would have been better and less generic than "Through My Window".
@Rasmussen the great three of the five background singers were Swedes (on the left and behind Sandra, Sandra`s boyfriend and her best friends) and the other two were Estonians (on the right, who remained very much in the shadows until the end). the progress of the song was nullified by the song of the Swedes Carola performed immediately before it. their outfits were also similar...
@@muhamedyagmur7353 To me, her performance and face expressions seemed aggressive. She is a good singer and she’s beautiful, but her performance would have been better without those awkward face expressions and the legs so wide open. It just didn’t look good
@@vladimirprostran1896 Really? I think I'm one of the few people who like the way her looks. I found her and her outfit very cool because blue and white are my favorite colors. In fact, she should have qualified anyway. With a small change, she could have entered the top 8 in the semi-finals.
Underrated song, it deserved the final.
Hola Antonia!
Just see Glennis Grace that did not go to final in Eurovision! Today she is the best singer in world!
I agree with you i love this song
No...standart song

I agree
My guilty pleasure that year! Should have qualified though! Bravo 🇪🇪
I love this schlager. It would be perfect to open the final in 2006. 💙
Still in love with this song after 11 years! and gutted that it didn't made it to the finals !
16 years later I still love this song :)
Awesome and very underrated song. Estonia was a great ESC country in the 00's
It has an Abba feeling!
And that's the problem, Estonia shouldn't sound like Abba. And btw, the singer is Swedish
i feel it too ;) so good song anyway. why estonia shouldn;t sound like ABBA? what;s a problem? ;)

yes especially through theys clothes ;-)
For real, wow! Haven't noticed!

When i heard this song i thought it was the winner of that year. This song is fantastic!
Puts a smile on my face every time I hear/see it.
Something remind me of Does yout mother know from ABBA
this song is the definition of great schlager pop! sandra deserved to qualify!
amazing song by Estonia even after 12 years since that contest. this song is very fresh.
I am still in love with this masterpiece and it got robbed of the first place in the Eurovision song contest final
Christmas Song, especially with those bells 🥰
I thought the same. 🤭
I love this song it my favourite song in 2006
VERY Underrated!!

Good song
No pass to final because sweden pass just before estonia 😉

Love from Greece
Still loving it in 2024. Was 17 back then.
One of the most exact steps ever seen.. tx.
So in 2005 an Estonian band represented Switzerland, and in 2006 Estonia was represented by a Swedish singer..
hahahahaha really? ^^
Also a Swedish singer in 2002.
represented Estonia?
Yes! Sahlene even tried to represent Sweden through the Melodifestivalen later.
wow :) interesting ;)
So underrated :(
Fantastic song!
Hello he hee,
The best performance ever!!!😍😍😍😍 Love from Poland😍😍😍
This song should have won!
I LOVE IT
Love this song so much, makes me smile every time! :D

This song gives me winx vibes
I love it! This is so underrated. I don't understand why didn't qualify to the final. Sorry Sandra!
I really love it!!😍😍I'm watching the semifinal almost everyday (when I have time)haha so I already know the lyrics :D
Eurovision 2006 would have been a far better contest if the semi final had been the grand final
I wonder why she was named just "Sandra" without her surname Oxenryd on that ESC while the famous singer named Sandra already exists
Literally the only song we sent before 2009 that I can tolerate.
Not even "Runaway", "Once In a Lifetime" or "Diamond of Night"? They were really good in my opinion!
And Kelatuud Maa
Rian Ravi I love Keelatud Maa!
Okay 2007 wasn't *that* bad though..
Everybody and Diamond of Night?
I Think what killed is that she started right after Sweden who had a similar type of song with better singer.
Maybe so but the Swedish song was bad.
@@LarryFleetwood8675 but Carola was a pro through..
@@Denis-89 Yes, but too 'I am great' showy for my taste in a performer.
Love this ❤
Loving the five girls on backing vocals. 🤣

2018!!!!
I love it ;0
A que estamos esperando para reconocer esta cancion como ganadora de 2006
Wait! One of the singers in the background look exaclty like my teacher!?!?! Edit it was her!
I don't know what the hell happened but this is definetly good enough to advance from the semi.
Sandra! 🤘
If only the two countries that used juries voted, this would’ve qualified in 10th position.
This wasn't even close to qualify
Very strange, considering all the trash that did go to the final.

Fell because of neighbourvoting very common at that time!!! 👎
Like runaway 2002/🤔
ABBA
Wat? Underrated? )) Estonia had much better chances if it was Ines with "Iseendale".
So better than eden alene
ABBA's Does Your Mother Know, anyone?
It’s a good song and Sandra is a good singer, but there is something aggressive about the performance that failed to connect with people that night.
I'm really curious what is that thing that can't connect with people? because Sandra really deserved to qualify 28 points very low

American country pop slop. No wonder something this tacky failed
Why😢?
This song was very cool.
Deserved to qualify of course ://
Like I've never been in a relationship but I don't think your Taylor Swift-like song will help you get him back sister.
